Good thing abt Malaysia - since you are a digital nomad, if you want to live an even cheaper lifestyle, consider living outside of KL. perhaps move to different states every few months. Internet is nationwide coverage and hv 5G. You'd be surprised the diversity of food and culture here. Don't worry abt safety (just don't wear expensive shit & act normal), most Malaysians are friendly and helpful, esp if you could speak Malay, it would help you tremendously.

It Ok, he is young, can take that nomadic lifestyle, won't die wan! it better to challenge oneself and move out of one's comfort zone, that the beauty when one is young, they can take the risk and falls. That why both of my sons ventured out of Singapore. You now why KIWI BIRDS cannot fly cos New Zealand was such a safe haven for KIwi birds, they never have take flights since there is no danger, as times goes by, they lose the ability to fly. So soar high my dear Chris when you are young, go experience life and enrich your heart and mind in other untangible ways. You will always be welcome back to Singapore. You are a son of Singapore.

Great move esp while you’re young. A lot of the naysayers tend to be making comments out of self reflection fear and never lived as a local overseas. The crab mentality of those who “can’t” must be pushed aside. Living overseas as a local changes you in a very positive way. In addition, the way many commenters talk about safety and stuff show how much of a bubble nanny state babies they are and how skewed their mindsets have developed because of the very high standard in sg. Go do what’s best for you and wish you all the best. It’s be good to talk about visa stuff in the future as well as have a collab with great non finance RU-vidrs who retired in Malaysia like Taylor, the retire American.
@jjsamuelgunn1136
@jjsamuelgunn1136 11 месяцев назад
Your term 'bubble nanny state babies' is so apt in every way. Young people, even girls, of other countries want to have some adventure and go live in and explore foreign countries. But these people dare not even venture out and spend a few years in the nearest country that has a culture most similar to Singapore.

I recall he got a sizable portfolio.. by scaling back. And retire in Malaysia it much easier to achieve then in sg.. just base on rental/food cost etc Also a good testing ground to see if his portfolio can support his retirement.. I’m sure everyone want to “test water” He could ram up his portfolio 20-30% and then with his experience in Malaysia , find a better place or a different country like Thailand or Vietnam With 3-4k sgd is doable

I am very happy for you, When I was young, I lived in several countries and it already open my heart, mind and soul as well as critical thinking. You don't have a child yet so your move right now to move out of your comfort zone and explore new territory is correct. Be bold to venture out, not every gain is countable in dollars and cents, an enriched life will open up to more new ideas and an ability to see things from different angle. I will be moving out of Singapore soon, my children have all moved out of Singapore to experience life and to grow their mind and soul. That why it important to save and start investing as young as possible, although I did not start investing as young as you, I was able to generate passive income from rentals. I look forward to your videos and do take care of yourself and don't forget your parents. God will bless all those who do things right. Life is about experiencing and growing and developing into a better person as well. Thank you for your contribution on financial matters. It really helpful.

where should you go? if you stay in JB, it's easier to run back to SG regularly but what's the point if you WFH. you only do that if your daily job is in SG. KL has better infra but crowded and jam. property prices higher aso. but can take train, no need car. penang? more chinese. less trains. need cars but also small land space. of course, food is 'better'. some older folks even suggest ipoh. that is more suited for old people who don't go out often.

A lot of experience on Malaysian culture. Another youtuber is the Corporate Breakout Couple, a Singaporean man married to Malaysian and based in Penang. Both retired early in Singapore and decided to venture the world and become fulltime RU-vidrs. The wife is the tour guide for husband on Malaysian food and culture. Chris, I have no good words for you. Yes, each one writes its own path, and there is no right or wrong And you have an advantage than most of your audience as you are young. If today, you are in your fifties, then, I will congratulate you for your retirement in Malaysia. But you are young, and being a Singaporean (if I'm not wrong), you should be able to stand the heat, pressure or whatever things throw to you. You are lucky, you are doing what you like with passion, unlike most the others. You look and sound thrifty, if you stand firm with your feet on the ground, I'm sure success will come. To me, now, you are quitting. Quitting to the pressure of the high cost of living, owning a car, owning a condo etc. Well, to each his own. Good luck for relocation to Malaysia.
