I really want to pick up either a 2 ton or 2.6 ton machine but I’m on the fence about it. I want to add a landscaping/property maintenance side to my business with a dump trailer and a mini ex running around but I don’t know where to start. I rent these machines when I need them for trenching but never used them for anything more but looks like I could easily learn the basics.

If you can find the work for that machine to stay busy, I don’t see why not. With that set up, there’s plenty of things you can do with it.

30k will not touch this machine today. Two years later they are 25 to 30 percent more. Your machine is worth 30 today so you've had 2 years work for zero machine cost. Good decision!

Hello James, I have been following your channel to learn about the Bobcat E20. I have 10 + acres and looking for a compact excavator to help develop this land. Today a got a quote for the E20 with a 16" pin on, 3 bolt on teeth bucket, control enhancement package and hydraulic clamp/thumb for $36,903 + 7% tax. Based on your experience is this a reasonable quote? I would appreciate your feedback. thank you, Tom

@@arnoldshauling No, it uses the Bobcat pin on buckets. I have a ripper, four buckets and the HB680 Bobcat jackhammer, it takes two minutes to change buckets. My thumb is a Bobcat and it works perfectly. Here's another site worth looking at: rhinox-group.com/search?type=product&q=bobcat+e20

Bought a new Chinese XN20 for 16000$ with lots of attachments. It has telescoping tracks too, with mixed parts from USA, Korea and. Yanmar engine from Japan. Cheap and will do the job. Bobcat machines are over priced.

I have seen those in my local area but there’s one thing that we don’t know about them. What is their lifetime and how hard is it to service and fix it when it goes down. Me personally I’d rather spend $30,000 on a machine where I know I can take it and get it serviced or fixed when it goes down. So you have your preferences and I have mine and I hope you have a good luck with that little machine! Best thing you can do is, if it is a good tool and works for you make videos about it and let other people know.

@@triplesticks they are low price wise but not bad quality wise. This specific model targets European market therefore it's build fairly well. Any,enjoy your machine.

Thank you for your review. Can I. pick your brain? I am 70 retired never run excavator but I have lots of hours on tractors here on my farm. Mainly what I will do with an excavator is build trails thru the woods on land too steep for a tractor. I will digging and pushing over small trees and bucket size rocks out of the way. I think I have decided on the E20 mainly for price. The dealer says I should buy a E26 for a total inc tax and thumb of $34700. The E20 with thumb and tax total is $29000. What do you think about those prices ? I have sold my tractors . I do have a Ventrac 4500Z with several attachments. Actually, it will do anything that I need to do except dig around the trees that I will need to push out of the way. I am just an old man who wants to play in the woods. Thank you !

I had a e26 and was very happy with it before upgrading to an e35. If you have steep land I would look for something heavier than the e20. I ended up getting rid of the e26 because I work on hills quite a bit and it was tippy

Could you envision using your E20 to cut mountain biking and/or ATV trails? Not that you would do it, but that the machine would be capable, including cutting benches on moderately steep inclines which included some rock?
@triplesticks
@triplesticks 3 года назад
it could do it but a little bigger machine would be better.

@@triplesticks I've really been eyeing the E26, for cutting trails and keeping drainage ditches clean on personal property, not commercial use, but starts to move towards a pretty expensive option.
@vegahunter8
@vegahunter8 3 года назад
@@ktrails e20 will work for mtb, ATV trails. It's a decent machine. A little underpowered for the task. I'd go Kubota u17 if that's the main task you want to do with a mini ex for 3 reasons. It has a much stronger drive motor for blading/grading dirt. It has true zero turn. Lastly the bobcat e20 will NOT like steep terrain. The u17 will tractor up the steeper side slopes. The only thing bobcat e20 has over kubota u17 for building trails is a little longer boom and better swing motor. If you're doing landscaping mostly the e20 is more than capable machine.
@ktrails
@ktrails 3 года назад
@@vegahunter8 thanks for the feedback! Do you feel similarly about the e26 and e32 regarding trail building? I’ve got pretty steep terrain and don’t want to get it stuck where I can’t get it out

@@ktrails there isn't a ton of difference between those 2 machines. The trail will be wider for ATVs.

@triplesticks

Not the same footprint. The E20 fits inside a 36inch opining. There for it is not a fair comparison. In a wide open place, or clearing trees or something like that the e35 is a better machine for sure. But for small landscape jobs and drains the e20 out shines the e35
