Dude! Enjoy your purchase, it looks great. They all fish the same when the trolling motor is down. I own a Phoenix 721XP. It is my third boat.. BassCat to Triton to a Phoenix, each boat had it's pluses and minuses. I am extremely happy in the new boat, it is all about what you like and where you typically fish. Good job following a boyhood dream it is how most of felt about our first boat!
Thanks for correcting the NItro info. They get bashed all over the place. You have a nice looking rig! Hook up a boom camera for some cool angles while fishing. I made one out of PVC that fits in the rear seat post for super cheap. I have a vid using it, check it out. If you want specifics let me know I can show you how I built it.
I love watching your videos man. You should try doing a few daily vlogs. Your very interesting and your well spoken. I'd watch :-) BTW I try to never emulate another man but DAMN I want that boat. I love everything from the paint to the build. We have the same taste
+Johnny Bones yeah buddy great taste indeed! Would've loved red and black...but love this nonetheless. Thanks for the support!.....I march to the beat of my own drum....and don't care two poops about keeping up with the Joneses!
I believe the Skeeter will probably have a higher resale value than the Nitro....just from what I've seen on the market over the past few years. My next boat will be another Skeeter.... probably a ZX250. Thanks for the vids!!
+Buzzy Gruen I agree too...I live 15mins from bass pro...yet I drove to Kentucky for that exact reason. Like stocks...market impressions drive costs....nitros impression is changing according to my research and there are thousands of satisfied customers, but the stigma remains.
We both know resale value benefits the second buyer. No matter what we buyer we take the hit period. I bought the FX 20. Why? Well bought my first skeeter in 1986. I was able to scrap enough pennies to buy the SD 80. I was like you on a great high. I'm a little older my recommendation is to let the first owner take the hit on the cost. I'm happy for you. I feel great about my FX 20 ever though I would go top of the line. HP and boat has nothing to do with winning but everything to do if your a gear head like you and me. Let us know how the rig is working out for you since when you get more time to play with it.
Nitro has always underpowered their boats, they used to 20 footers to use with 115s and we would photoshop the motor stickers and size, i met a guy who bought a 899 savage hull with a 150 and it would barely plane out with a 4 blade. Nitro’s used to be terrible but they reached a peak of greatness with the z7-z9. I think the newer ones are nicer interior however the hull design is not the best compared to the skeeter. I run a skeeter its an amazing boat. One thing you would like i think would be to take your dash HDS 9 and put it on a bass boat technologies mount to get it closer to your face and easier to use while running.
+Max Williams bruh....seriously bruh...seriously I'm definitely gonna be doing that with the hds 9!!! I got the 9ti I'm gonna put up front...haven't told anyone but you sir are right on the money my man! Thanks for the comment. Have a good one!
+Derek White thanks dude! Those fx20s are nice I hope you can own one...heck I hope I can too one day!.....keep at it and make it your goal and don't let anything stop you! Don't back up don't back down.
I am happy for you don't think I'm not, I bought a 14 ft aluminum boat last year and I was stoked, just like you said man you have to live by what you can afford
+Tom Walker thanks bud! Hard work and sacrifice, I'm happy for you too that you got a boat and can get out there and enjoy what I'm sure we both treasure....peeling drag...watching sunrises and shootin the shit with buddies.
It is a really good looking boat bro but I would rather see you catching bass in it than sitting in your garage talking about it I know your stoked about getting it and that's cool 😎 though
+Tom Walker oh absolutely!!! I'm sitting on video from 3 trips just in my boat making another trip on Saturday....had to re dig the trench for my garage electric this past weekend lol yup "re dig!" Took 8hrs...but I'm gonna get back to pumping out some quality fishing vids...I truly appreciate the support thank you!
Awesome boat brother! Im wanting to upgrade to a bigger boat and im looking really hard at the ZX250 also. Im needing more storage above everything lol....ive got too much stuff for my 2005 Triton Tr186 to handle.
BeyondTheBounds ...That's what I'm going to do also, not compromise. I'm going to make sure my boat is rigged the way I want it when I purchase one that way you're not spending the extra cash on upgrading your electronics you can save it to spend on tackle and gear. The only thing I would prefer differently would be the electronics because I really like the hummingbirds LOL
BeyondTheBounds niiice! Also just to be clear I really enjoy your channel, not trying to be disrespectful. I really enjoy your content, you do a great job! Good luck in your tournament and again sweet boat!
+J Corr excellent did not think you were at all....couple others have made some comments...I am glad y'all did...ill make an effort to produce the trips I've taking thus far! Y'all are my subs and I appreciate it!
I stand by my earlier statement. When you do the Hobie giveaway, I want to somehow cheat and get the upper hand on everyone else. I sure would like to go for a boat ride.
what is all of the hype for having the fastest bass boat? All things considered, how does ~10mph faster equate to better tournament finishes? Aren't blast-offs done by sequence? I just want to know how speed is = to success in catching fish!
Mark Bartniski rangers are one of the best boats out there....if not the best! The price tag on new and used is what kept me away. Yamaha has a very good rep too, when I researched blown power heads Yamaha came up a lot though. I tried hard on a few Rangers, and I talk about that in another vid.
That's what kept me from Yamaha. Great motors but when warranty is out Merc powerheads are cheaper to replace. If you're in it for the long term investment that is. Slick boat btw! Congrats and tight lines!
Looks like you did your homework before you bought your boat. That's a good thing. I used to work at a car dealership. The owner's son bought a boat and it totally pissed him off. He asked me, "do you know what the happiest day in a man's life is". "When he buys a boat". "Do you know what the next happiest day is"? "When he sells the son of a bit*h". Of course, I couldn't agree with that. :)
sweet dude! when I knew i wasn't getting the titan.....I made the choice right then....to get my bass boat....that pushed me over the edge! But the Titan is definitely a great fishing platform.
+Tom Walker lol this made me laugh out loud...thanks....I did win a kayak tournament this weekend in PA....got my first boat tournament next weekend...just catering to what has generated views...but this will wrap up and it'll be fishing vids and reviews coming up.
I for one appreciate his perspective. Not all are as experienced as you. Also, I don't think Lou has toughted himself as a "boat expert" at all. In fact, he has presented himself as a bass boat novice! I guess haters gonna hate though. Im just glad there are experts like you around to set the masses straight (sarcasm)!
