So I have actually been excited about trying out the new Bose 700 headphones. I was curious to if these were going to be the new noise cancelling king headphones. The price of these are $400 so they are already pretty proud of these from the start. But can anything justify the price tag? Enjoy!

Excellent review. As another reviewer mentioned, I wish that more folk were as honest as you. The Sony MX4's will be a winner if they fix their call quality, the controls in extremely cold weather, the comfort of the ear cups (they need to be deeper) and the ability to connect with multiple devices. They also need to do something about their casing - the MX3's are sometimes very difficult to fold the right way!! They need to keep it simple.

Yeah, easilly worth the 100 us extra to be able to actually have a conversation. I agree that sound probably is better in the Sony headphones, but you cant have a conversation with anyone in it, even if background noice is just very low. With these I can drive, cut my lawn, sitt in coffeshops, stand in trafic and who ever I speak to cant hear any of it. Amazing. Maybe they should cost 299 per noice-canceling, 299 for you, and 299 for the person in the other end? In that case they are cheap :)

I got the Sony 1000 and had to return them because I got them for work. Calling is just impossible. I don't know if I should get the Bose, I want the best headphones for phonecalls. And I want to be able to connect to my mac and my android phone the same way I do with my Jaybird x3. Just pause there, pay here and the headphones know what I'm doing. BUT IDK. I don't see any other option and some people say Bose 700 are not worth the money. I just don't know what to do

I just got em, and i love them, been using them for about 2 months. What-ever issues they had with the app has been fixed, because i haven't had any issues with them. I've never owned the models before, so i can't compare, but overall, i think they are worth it.

I think you're all being a bit hard on BOSE. Granted when this was produced the app was broken and should have worked. Currently the app has been updated and is working much better. However if you judge the headphones on just the app you're missing out on the rest that is good. The BOSE headphones are flat and I think that's by design so they don't color the music like those bass heavy Beats. Pre-EQ'd headphone are hard to listen to for an extended time. The BOSE sound is comfortable to listen to for extended periods of time without getting tired ears. If you aren't satisfied with the sound connect up to your iTunes library on your computer and open the EQ and play with the sound and I'm sure you'll be amazed what they can be made to sound like based upon your sound preferences. Rumor has it that BOSE will offer an EQ in their app so that will be a nice addition. Next I'll take the build quality of the BOSE to anything SONY with all their plastic. Bose are stainless steel and built to last. I like the style being minimalistic yet sturdy VS. the chunky look of the SONY. Lastly while BOSE does manufacture their product in China, the development is done in America. Let's support our American companies "Making America Great Again!"

I bought Bose 700 at a discounted price of 330 USD and am absolutely loving them. At this price the value these deliver is incomparable to Sony or Sennheiser. I have always been a fan of Bose's warm and natural sound signature. Sony sound a bit boomy and unnatural to me. Plus the noise cancellation of Bose 700 is top notch.

As someone who's averaging 300+ flights per year, I have my QC35 on at least 2 hrs each day of the year, southern hemisphere as well as northern, at the beach or on mountains, in the cold of Norway or the heat of Oman, moist and dry environments, they always provide me with excellent sound, good enough noise cancellation and sometimes usable phone/skype call quality in noisy environments. What I am looking most for with the new Bose 700 is natural call quality in noisy environments. Thanks for your honest review which offers me some assurance that these are going to be better in that department. The QC35 had huge issues with connections as well for the first 10-15 revisions of their firmware. For the past 8 months it's been a smooth ride though, especially when switching between laptop and phone, during taxi and takeoff.

I would be wary, if you have not yet purchased the Panasonic 605n, the headband is ridiculously brittle. I treated mine with the utmost care for 18months and one day I put them on the band just above the hinge of the left cup just cracked and split. It was ridiculous. Sent them back to amazon for a full refund (thanks amazon) and got the XM3 - now only 240 Sterling. They are way lighter and there isn’t any ANC hiss like with the Panasonic 605n. Way more control with the EQ on the app as well and better build quality.

I jus bought the 700s a month ago. My QC 35s stopped working "(after 20 months with 2 yr warr on em)". I use headphones at least 2 hrs everyday. In the car with a little bit of cancellation I even use them as personal monitors at band practice. I briefly auditioned the Sony M3s. They do have more bass with an open sound stage. However, the 700s have more detail. The 700s do have better detail than the 35s. Either one is a great choice. Jus have $550. so you can get the warranty. This stuff will give wear out after 2000 hrs.

I drive a big rig for a living. Visual scenes are a much more useful tool for driving vs hearing. You would be surprised how loud road noise is when you your used to noise cancellation. After all... We lose our precious hearing from age 2 and up. Jus don't realize it. I use the Nuraphones for bass heavy music and the 700s for Jazz and softer music. They sound a little better/cleaner Than 35s. Maybe 25%. There more comfortable, built better, and the slide tap features are useful. Only complaint I have is after I charge em. The prompt tells me the same battery % as b4 I charged em. Their not the best on the market. But, for $300. Their reasonable. Ultimate Ears are pretty sweet in-ears. Very expensive tho......

@ΒασίλειοςΠαπασταύρου
Bought them yesterday, no problems connecting to the app. Apps ultimately will have an update and there will be a fix. Sound wise is subjective and depended on what you are used to listen to. To me it's very good and could not hear a difference with the sony 1000xm3. In fact the sony was quite troublesome with their automatic noise cancelling feature to the point you had to disable it all together and also you could not have 2 devices connected at the same time, whereas bose doesn't have this problem. To me the price(now lower a bit) is in turn to justify the design and the existence of the QC 35 that already sells at a lower range.

So calming! I think these will be every bit as good as something like a Plantronics only better because you will hear no distractions - just don't use in a car unless you turn off noise cancelling - you could not hear a siren with these on! No problem with the app at all.

One thing I’ve noticed with any pair of noise canceling headphones is the noise cancellation starts to wear and it’s with all noise canceling headphones not just Bose that’s why I tell people not to stretch them out and be careful with them because if their not as tight of a fit then the noise cancellation won’t work as well.

I am really not sure about the Bose 700 NC. I have a Solo 5 soundbar, a bluetooth speaker and a set of PC speakers that really work great and sound great. So I chose this headset because of the possibility to connect to multiple bluetooth sources and because I expected a great sound quality. For me (and I am still testing different devices) the sound needs the equalizer to make it ok for mee but biggest problem is that the volume is very on the low end, when connected to my Samsung TV via bluetooth. So I am going to test on other devices but am afraid I spent about $ 240 for a product that is not to my likine (and cannot be returned)

Background: Own QC 25, QC 35, and SoundWear. Given my perspective and experience with the Bose products I went to Best Buy to try them on and listen to the demo. The audio sounded good (as most demos should) and they are expensive. However, the Bose 700s confirmed again why I buy their products and will continue to do so - Comfort. Bose knows how the make all-day-comfortable noise cancelling products and the 700s felt lighter than the QC line of headphones and just as comfortable on the head. Bose strikes a fine balance of comfort, noise cancelling, and neutral sound. Never had to return a Bose product and have been pleased with the long-term ownership experience. I will buy the 700s in the future as a dedicated travel headset and appreciate the review.

I am not surprised at all that Bose came out the a product more expensive than everything else. To me, that has always kind of been their thing. They market home sound equipment that offers a hyped, processed sound. People drink the juice, and because the price is high it must be the best, right? They had it cornered with the QC line for a long time because they DO know how to do ANC. Maybe now they will learn how to design good sounding headphones.

I've been a bose fan for a long time. They were my first pair of expensive headphones (QC35) and honestly looking back. I've been using them for 5 years and i think i paid about 500 AUD for then when i got them. if i could go back in time and if it was priced at 1k i would still buy them. they were revolutionary at the time and for me. So this year i was looking for an upgrade. as much as i love my current QC35's i wanted an upgrade and for 4 months i was leaning very heavily into Bose, like an apple fan for the iphones. (though i'm an android user) and was about to get it. i spent a few days after classes going into stores with the MX3's and 700's constantly comparing and contrasting. Now this is from a Bose fan who would've loved nothing more than to buy another bose pair. It's multi pairing feature sounded amazing and i'm not audiophile so i was happy with just better ANC and ambiance mode compare to my QC35s. But most important of all. Comfort. Bose is the king in comfort. they shape the inside of the earphones to match the fact that the back of your ear protrudes out more than the canal and so it's shaped so your ears don't touch the insides not to mention it's soft. End of the day for comfort it's bose all the way, But in the end i chose theMX3's. Honestly, i'm insanely tempted to buy both (i'm not rich but i'm not the type to spend a little on a lot of small things but instead spend a lot on a little of big things. I had enough savings and really want both). Though i haven't bought the 700's yet i am very happy with my MX3's. Comfort is lacking but i got it for really cheap (since i was scouting deals) about 320 AUD which translates to about 220 USD for a great pair of headphones. maybe in a year or 2 i'll get the bose. I'm really salty the MX4's didn't come out but what can you do. MX3's are a good product and while i'm gonna be angry if the MX4's release next year and are a major improvement, so far so good

@@TheGamingAudiophile That seems to be debatable among reviewers, but I'd agree XM3 has a slight edge there (at least, from my testing around air conditioners and street noise.) @Lucas Silva Boas Lucas! A bateria é fantástica.

I’d say it’s the build quality that makes them more expensive. There’s no doubt that the quality of the materials and finish is a cut above the QC35s and Sony (insert long terrible name here). I have the original QC35s and I love the way they sound. Yes they could be better but I enjoy how they are quite warm and I can turn them up as loud as I want without sharp treble hurting my ears. They have nice bass that’s loud without being overpowering and the mids are quite natural sounding (vocals and acoustic guitars especially).

I have pair of 700’s which recently wore for 12 hours plus, travelling to and wandering around London, to start with hardly used the app, which didn’t affect enjoyment, they were really comfortable, the ANC was best i have heard, even coped with bangs and thuds of coach travel which Sony and even Bose QC 35 struggled with, they really quieten ones environment, I found them easy to listen to for long periods, which to me is the point of them, didn’t get listening fatigue at all, so they dont have best base but for long listening i dont want booming base in my head all the time, they stayed on head well, I have Sony XM2 and I didn’t get on with them at all well, too gimmicky and coped badly with Coach travel, weren’t comfortable to wear, hard to find sweet spot where could enjoy my music and get into it, I’d happily sell them, also have QC35 11’s which will keep but use less, all in all the 700’s are really really good for travelling and using around London etc, I may look at the new Sony Wireless earbuds though, as probably more comfortable and may have better ANC, but I would recommend the 700’s,

Hey thanks for the heads up, I'm coming from a QC35 (v1) have had them for 4 years and the sound to me is what I like, so knowing that they left it the same is positive in the sense that, at least it isn't worse and it will be 'as good' possibly by now 2 years later, had some minor improvements. Shopping against the Sony XM4s, I like the battery notification improvement where it says hours and minutes vs QC35/XM4s saying battery %, I'm a fan of the design personally, the 20 hours of battery life is the same as the QC35s which I have used mine every day for 4 years, often for 16 hours a day and they've never died unless I didn't charge them overnight, and also apparently these are more comfortable. So that's how I landed where I did, but enjoyed the video, thank you!

In my opinion they are worth the money. Firstly they improved from the qc35 with a subtle change in sound to add clarity, better nc, with better incremental adjustments, bluetooth 5.0 from 4.1, they now have an adjustable eq and also have much better microphones than its predecessor. Secondly, i think all round these are better than the sony, which only have bluetooth 4.2, have a creaky cheap build quality(bose looks and feels like quality), the sound quality is bass heavy and veiled which can be eqd in the app but then you lose the option to use ldac and it goes back to sbc(which is ridiculous) and poor microphones for calls. So even though the bose are more expensive your getting much more than the sony in my opinion. Edit: the sony has a better battery but the bose now offers a charging case with an additional 40 hours(but it isn't cheap) never the less its something the sony don't offer.

The problem right now there is simply no such thing as perfect headphones, so everyone has their problems. Bose, they are the most comfortable and have some of the best ANC, but the sound is just bad. Or just not that good. At Sony, however, the sound is simply terrific,The noise suppression is also quite good, but the comfort, i.e. the wearing comfort, isnt that great, maybe it has changed with the new 1000x 4 version, but with the 3rd version the ears will definitely warm up relatively quickly because only with the Bose do the ears have enough space in the earpiece itself. With all other companies, regardless of whether Sony or JBL, the ears in the earpiece touch the speakers or the speaker cover, i.e. the ears get in contact with the cover or get in contact with the ears. And as a result, the ears warm up much faster than with Bose. because there is less Space or that the ears may even be painful or at least that it feels uncomfortable after maybe 30 minutes, sometimes after an hour.

I got the 700s for Christmas, this would be my 3rd purchase of the brand in noise cancelling headphones over the past 7 years. The reason why my wife bought the 700s was because my last pair of Bose headphones the ear padding has separated from the plastic making them look like we should toss them in the garbage. This wear and tear took 2 years using them 3-4 times a weeks. I watch movies on my laptop at home in bed nothing too crazy. I was expecting them to last longer? The 700s arrived today to replace my older pair. I unboxed them and followed the instructions. I got a fault indicated by red and white led flashing. I then went through the list of trouble shoots. I could not resolve the fault. I was already feeling the brand let me down on the longevity of the last purchase for the price I decided instead of trying to work through the fault on the brand new pair of 700's I would use this time to research other brands. I am sending back the 700's I have been a Bose customer for almost a decade. I am moving on.

One thing to mention about these after using them. You can't turn off the noise cancellation unless you do it on the app. When I'm at home, in a quiet environment, I get an unusual static-like sound when with the noise cancellation on. If I don't have my phone on me, I have to go grab it to turn the noise cancellation off. There is no way to do it using the touch controls on the headphones themselves. Its become a real ballache when my phone is out of battery for example.

Most people were complaining just the opposite that they felt they were too tight but I have a smaller head and probably just got a looser pair (maybe a flaw.) The 2nd pair feels better but the material in general still makes them a bit slippery on my head.

Even if it's good, I'll give you another reason not to buy them. TLDR : They nerfed the noise cancelling on their previous headphones, who knows when they will do it to yours upon releasing a new one. They are some of the most deceptive companies. A few months before Bose 700's release, they made a software update for the Bose QC 35II that drastically reduced it's noice cancelling. This is agreed upon by almost every Bose QC 35 II Users and tech reviewers. Bose's response was that upon testing it in the lab they concluded that there were no bugs etc and essentially we were just imagining that despite tests from tech reviewers such as RTINGS that had came to the conclusion that they noise reduction is greatly reduced. So why does this matter to you? Simple. You have 0 guarantee that they wouldn't do that to you upon their release of a new products. Fuck you Bose.

don't be so naive, they haven't nerfed anything. I have an updated QC35ii and another one with a version 'before the nerf' There is literally no difference. @owo9178 5 лет назад
@@DromeG60 Firstly, naive means having or showing a lack of experience or knowledge which I don't know how you can conclude that from my statement. I believe that, you meant to say that I am gullible that I am simply being tricked by the "minority" that says that Bose QC35II ANC capabilities have been nerfed. Incorrect selection of word. Secondly I have substantial proof that it has been nerfed RTINGS www.rtings.com/headphones/reviews/bose/quietcomfort-35-ii-qc35-ii-wireless-2018 At the noise cancelling section, you can see that the amount of decibles of ANC has reduced. I see no reason for the website to fake that data as they are not sponsored by any other audio competitors. This is scientific proof, data, something objective. Thirdly, I highly disagree that only a small amount of users felt like the ANC is decreased. Look at one of the forum community.bose.com/t5/Around-On-Ear-Headphones/Bose-QC-35-ii-firmware-4-5-2/td-p/213820 which has 1,586 posts at the time of this comment which is large in comparison to many others. I had the Sony WF-1000XF3's for a couple of weeks. Amazing noise cancellation, comfortable enough fit and a great sound for wireless. They fell short in two critical details - bluetooth pairing and voice conversations. I traded 'up' to the Bose 700's primarily because their improvements in these two areas and haven't looked back. I treated the Sony's with kid gloves - always putting them back in the case. The Bose 700's stay on my head or around my neck through most of the workday. They did an awesome job with voice isolation, which even allows me to carry on conversations in the car with my kids at their rowdiest. Overall 9.5/10 stars, and they only lost the 1/2 point because I still feel that they should have been priced at $350 at release.

I think Bose needs to fix their app and add an EQ to their app. That would make the headphones amazing. I believe they are doing an Apple thing, relying on their name brand to sell. I have the soapstone version. the major reason why i upgraded was i had connection issues with my 35II everytime i put my phone in my pocket or turned my head my music would be choppy and the other 2 reasons were i wanted usb c so i can use the same cable my phone uses and another big reason was the drivers on the 35s couldn't handle the highs of my music (I listen to a lot of edm) the 700s fix all of those problems but an eq would complete these headphones in my honest opinion.

If someone doesn't like the sound, then I highly recommend that you first update your headphones via the bose music app, and also make sure your bose music app is up to date. This makes a big difference. With the bose music app, you can access an e-q which makes all the difference. When I got my bose headphones, I was very disappointed in the sound. However, when I turned up the bass, the sound just came alive. One thing that sounds very good with the bose headphones are audio dramas. There is a very cool company called graphic audio that makes full length audio dramas of westerns, and fantasy books and some military type stuff. Great review! I’m going to stick with my QC 35 ii’s for now. Perhaps the next gen 700’s will be better.

Great review I was trying to research more information about Bose 700 headphones and couldn’t find anything that would justify paying $400 for these headphones I have the Bose Q 25s and they work great. I wonder is if there is A sound difference between the Bose Q 25s and Bose Q 35s?
