I thought at the time that it was cool that he was grown and it made me feel like I was wanted romantically, that need to be loved clouded me to the reality of the situation. There's a lot to be said about the emotional trauma that a young woman can experience being in a relationship with a person --especially a man -- with that big of age gap… it could stunt you at the very age the tramatic events began. I know that my mother's first age gap relationship was with a man that was 22 when she was 15. My father had a five year age gap on her. My mother never recovered from the first one, and she fell into trap after trap after trap until she passed away. If you don't get the help that's necessary, you continue to not be able to love and nurture your inner child so that s/he can grow and forgive and progress and move on in a jealthy way

I found out about their age gap years ago on a random gossip site and side-eyed every adult in her life at that time. Then I remembered what I was like at 17 n they probably couldn't advise her against dating him, especially if she felt she was in love. The great thing about this is she’s finally able to know her worth, loving herself and not living in misery anymore. She was so wrapped up in the fantasy of this person that she couldn’t fathom ever giving up no matter how poorly he treated her. When it comes to matters of the heart and soul, there’s no easy answer. If you know something isn’t working out, don’t waste yours or your partner’s time. I agree 100% that you, Jasena, or anyone else do not owe anyone an apology for stepping back or not posting, while it is nice to receive an explanation or closure it is not a requirement. No one knows what people go through behind closed doors. My hope is that she heals from this and get the necessary help if needed. I also agree the age gap at those ages are a red flag, I think when you are young you should date people your age (or close), once you are older and more mature you are better equipped handle a larger age gap relationship with someone older. What does someone 26 have in common with someone 17? I'm glad she waited until she was ready to address what happened.

Very true! Gifts can be a form of bribery and manipulation! Any time that somebody is that kind of person and they are so free and willing to provide you with these kinds of things, especially when you've never seen that kind of love before, or ever experience what healthy love looks like, you can tolerate those kinds of things, and justify those kinds of gifts as forms of love in that person's love language, and not the bargaining chips that they truly are

I use the term "love bombing" with my patients as a tactic used by an abuser at the early stages of a relationship, to bait a victim into a relationship, not knowing what's to come, which is usually a switch up in behavior. We use "breadcrumbing" and "hoovering" to describe inconsistent displays of attention/affection during the relationship -- such as gifts and trips -- to lure their victims back in. I'm not sure if the terms have changed since the last time I took a course, but if it has, thank you for informing me 💚

Yo…! Talk about "hitting the nail on the head"! God has a way of speaking to you in so many forms. You might hear it from a person who genuinely loves you. You might hear it in a song, or a television series, or just sitting quiet and seeing things outside of your rose color glasses. But your exes, your abusers, and those toxic people that you have previously removed from your life are not going to be the messenger for your spiritual messages. That religious manipulation is so socially accepted in our community, that it is disgusting! As someone that has a tough time at times being able to see flags early enough to leave at first signs, We've got to be able to listen for our guts to talk to us, and not be swayed by the people that are only out to harm and control.

I liked this video as soon as the video opened because I knew this would be a good one. I agree, I hate that they feel the need to apologize to the viewers. Some viewers feel like they are owed every detail of their life because of their line of work which is weird to me. That age gap blew me too man. She wasn't ready to be in a relationship with him at all. I remember Bryan said in a video one time that he wished his relationship with Josh was better but I can get why it wasn't. I have always thought something was off. After seeing the title of his first video, it gave me an idea of where his mindset could be. It's like a lot of things that I noticed in videos are all adding up now. The saying you can't judge a book by it's cover is a real thing man smh. Before Sena's video, about a month ago someone commented under Josh's videos that the guy has a very dark past from his soccer playing days, so i went on a google search and, look, the man is a complete red flag. I am not shocked that he was doing this to Sena because she was an easy target since she was a child when they met. I have no respect for people that ought to be on Chris Hansen's show, and if a 26-year-old approaches my 17-year-old baby sister, we are fighting sir/ma'am, and I am calling the police. I knew about the age gap and I side eyed everybody when I first found out because, huh??!? I also was a little apprehensive about Bryan when I watched Jasena and Josh do a reverse prank on him about Josh not wanting him as a brother in law. Let’s just say the way he reacted made me question whether or not he was abusive because he blew a gasket😳

Yeah I knew about her being 17 because people would occasionally put it in their comment section and that was a MAJOR! red flag.But that coupled with his r*pe charges 🤯 (which I only found out about within the last few months) and even these stories that Bryan is choosing to tell on his channel is VERY telling! I can only imagine what went on all those years. I have so many questions.

I knew they had a big age gap but I didn't know it was 17 & 26! That's a major red flag to me😬 because at 17 (especially when in love) you can be so easily manipulated... yeahh that really doesn't sit right in my spirit at all 😒. Knowing all this now tho explains so much and looking back now in hindsight alot of things are more clearer. One of the big ones for me was I noticed Josh's vibe around Bryan and got that vibe that maybe he didn't like Bryan as much 🤷🏽‍♀️. Honestly tho we really are not entitled to have everything explained to us cause it's their private life but the explanation is appreciated ❤️ I wish them both the best in the future.

I feel you when you said some people don't make it when they have been in relationship for a long period of time. My sister was in one, well I still feel like she is. There wasn't any huge age gap. They met in High school, they were 17 at the time. She literally graduated with a bump, yes preggo. Moved out my mom's house and in with her bd at 19. The constant manipulation where he would have my sister not call my family for weeks. The fights, not to mention how my mom basically raised them nieces and nephew cause he would always leave without taking care of the kids knowing my sis is not working ATM. If she tried to date someone new he would pop up and create unnecessary issues between them. I remember this one time they were fighting and bumped into my niece, she fell and hair got stuck in something. When she stood up she pulled so hard a patch of hair ripped right off and thats just one of the many fights. My sis is 35 now and she say they're not together anymore but we know that's a lie. My mom atp is just tired of talking so... yeah

Heyyy, when I watched this video. I literally felt so bad for her, breakups are really hard and tough in general but this one especially I can’t even begin to imagine how hard it is.
