Why don't you go to Sun City, South Africa and explore the mother resort? The founder of Sun International, was an amazing man and the company built world class resorts, that span the globe.
I like both styles of videos. Where you can share a first person account its great because it provides a much more realistic view of what you can expect to see vs. the commercialized view that is always meant to look flawless. Those are nice as well, because they look flawless after all, but when accompanied with your commentary it's a mix. Thanks!
I think that service is suffering all over though some resorts go above and Beyond. I think it goes with the lack of training and pride people put into their work. This makes it more difficult for the employees of these places to put effort and personal attention into their job. Make the service Industry suffer.
Thanks for sharing your experience! It’s nice to see that Atlantis is taking customer feedback into account and making needed changes. They really seem to make a difference. And I’d love to see a mix of both video types! It’s nice to have a variety and get to see you enjoy the travel you love so much and share with all of us!
We visited a few years ago as cruisers and also experienced not so great service. The employees acted like we were a chore. The property itself was pretty amazing although I totally agree with your review. Very accurate

Great overall assessment. However I’d double-down on the cons: We just stayed at the Reef for 5 days and had a terrible time between the run-down equipment, apathetic staff, and constant demand for unearned gratuities on top of obscenely overpriced food and drink.

I think this style video is similar to the content you usually do, except it’s obvious that most of not all of the footage was taken personally by you which makes the review even more authentic. I love it. Would also love to see you do some cruise content. Im curious about Virgin Voyages and would love your review.
I stayed at the Atlantis Resort a few years ago and had a similar experience to you 😕. While there were definitely some aspects I enjoyed, like the water park and beach, there were also some downsides, like the high prices and crowds. It's good to know I'm not the only one who had mixed feelings about the place. 🤷♀️
Hi Vanessa I enjoy any style of info you put down bc it’s always well done! I hope they do follow through with all the changes I could mention quite a few AI resorts that need to follow suit and yes I would revisit with all the updates in place. It’s just sad to visit some of these resorts and they’ve fallen in to disrepair some are not that old even worse if the food is not edible and I’m not looking for top notch cuisine at an AI (depends which one) just palatable and nice setting/service in the restaurants which is part of the experience and a lot of them do, do it well. I hate to say it but yes there has been a real change in the service and kindness from staff at a lot of resorts with alot of people complaining about it. I always tip well I know some people hate it but I just do so we do usually have great service but still I’ve noticed this rudeness from just letting people stand there while they talk to each other at counters in restaurants telling people No to any simple requests or ok and never do it just plain scowling at people all over the place. Is it overworked from the increase tourism or what I’m not sure but it has been mentioned quite a bit it could be a whole topic in itself.
It's also worth mentioning if you are a Platinum or higher member with Caesars Rewards you get a complimentary 4/5 night stay during certain months at certain towers depending on what tier you are. It might not be the best thing in the Bahamas but i'll take free everyday.
100% agree on iffy service in the Caribbean. The only exception from all of the islands we’ve visited was Sandals Curacao and the island in general. Loved it and felt 100% welcome and safe.
The service at beaches turks was horrible. The server would bring you your food and never come back again. It was clear they could care less since they know they are not going to get a tip. To make it worse most of the food was horrible and the drinks were watered down to the point that I had 3 margaritas and didn't get tipsy! Forget about getting a chair on the beach unless you are out there by 5: 30 in the morning since the butlers reserve all the chairs. I ask for an extra candle light in the outdoor restaurant called sky so I could see my food and the server replied "no" and walked away. For the price I expected a lot more. BTW the food in the Japanese restaurant was so bad I wouldn't feed it to stray dogs.
I liked the vlog style but do also appreciate the "usual" content ... so perhaps a "as and when experience" is good. Interesting to see a comparison of a previous visit ... Whilst we may not visit there any time soon certainly appreciate the update and whilst I have a couple cruises booked in the next 12 months .. looking forward to your next videos/updates to consider a cheeky getaway ... funds allowing.
I just returned last night from a 3 night stay at Atlantis. Your review of the property is on point. I stayed at the Royal Towers and my room was nice. It overlooked the turtle pond.
Hi Vanessa, I like the vlog style but your usual format is my favorite. A mixture of both is a great idea. I've visited Atlantis and feel it's good for a day but not for a stay. I bought a day pass. The food and service were subpar and the casino looked like something out of the 1970's. For the price, it was not worth it to me. The new changes aren't tantalizing and I still wouldn't stay there, but if I was in the area, I'd do another day trip. You honestly is so refreshing and I truly appreciate your videos. I'm eagerly awaiting the next one.
I would like to see both. I find both types very useful. Makes me look forward to my next vacation. Also if you are doing cruises through a few videos on that experience too.
I am in Altantis now, my third trip, and you are correct. My Room floor always has sand and I have not even touched foot on sand. Service horrible without a doubt, and a cheap.lunch was $180 for 4 people, they autmaticaly have tips added and give you the stink eye if you do not tip extra. Even with those negatives we always come back. 😂
If I'm ever in the Bahamas getting there by cruise which I have wanted to do so to visit the Bahamas for the first time and for my first cruise ever..I would stay here but I don't know if I would fly and stay there for more than a day because of the inflated prices and I'm more Cancun prices type of guy lol 😆 Loved the new video Vanessa, have missed you and your videos and glad to see another and can't wait for more this year!! 🤍 God bless you and your husband.
We were just there for five days in February and your review was spot on. Our 5yo loved the water park and aquariums, but the food was mediocre and the service was awful. I shared my feedback with the property and TripAdvisor the day we left, it was that bad.
Thanks Vanessa. With regard to service, my wife and I just returned last night from Secrets Royal Beach in the Dom. Republic. We have been to numerous resorts but the service at this Secrets far surpassed any of them. The staff must be trained extremely well because all were happy and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. We enjoy trying different places but we will surely go back to this resort! Keep the videos coming as we look forward to each of them.
Hi… nice video. I hope Atlantis sees it. I completely agree with you on updating the look, the high cost for food and the service provided by the staff. The staff could be more friendly especially at the food places and souvenirs shops. They were very grumpy and sour. They need some Disney magic training. They also limited the devices to 4 for wifi and additional you have to pay. Who does that? To park the rental car in their carpark was $20 a day. At least The Dig was free which I’m glad about. And yes the place is so large they need much better maps and way of navigation. The current maps are terrible and as you said no “you are here on it”. They signage does not stand out. Do you know there is a theatre that shows movies? We just happened to stumble on it but was not told of all the possible activities. So they need to work on that. A teeny weeny QR code in room does not cut it. And there is an Atlantis app that’s good but just happened to see it in a passing email. The check in person should have alerted us to it. They have complimentary bottles to refill for water but first of all was to find a refill station. Met some others who were lost with that. 2nd if all the water at those refill station looked sketchy and tasted bad. You did a great job with your review.
My understanding is that BahaMar lured away a significant number of Atlantis employees. Perhaps that had a substantial impact to the service, in several ways.
We will be traveling there in about a month I'm hoping for the best since I already booked Atlantis waterpark for a day. I mean I just want to be there and relax, reading some of the comments here made me a little bit worried.
Vanessa you said. All inclusive like is it going to include alcohol too ? Also is the adults only still that way we really don’t want to vacation in resorts with children We have definitely found that the Bahamas do not have the same service as Mexico does Finally this format is as great as the other we just enjoy your videos
Hi PP, how did you find out about the new dining plan starting in May? I can't find any information on it. I want to a book a trip to Atlantis but I want to do it when the dining plan is offered (it's not offered at this moment).

I did enjoy the review of your stay and I would not exclude the Atlantis based on your report either as a short family stay or a day trip from a cruise. Good to know they are making some positive changes.
No I wouldn't go to Atlantis. After going there for many years our last trip five years ago was a complete disaster! No one to help you a tower they put us in Coral under renovation refused to move us a Fire alarm at three in the morning having to walk down dark unlit stairs and no one to help or give you any information. We sat outside in the dark for hours until I called it and told my husband I was going to the airport! There was no one who cared in the least and the meal plan you quoted when I was there was per person per day! NEVER AGAIN!!!
The Bahamas is a beautiful place to travel to have been traveling in there for 50 years over the past 30 years. The people seem to be less and less happy and dealing with the tourist and as part of the tourist problem I’m sure, but for me the Bahamas may be beautiful, but I will never go there again I like being treated with courtesy and respect if I treat someone with courtesy and respect simple is that and I don’t get that in the Bahamas today. There’s a certain anger that’s there. I’m not sure who put it there but whoever did it You destroyed something that could’ve been great nice work!
I don't see the difference between this 'vlog style' video and your other Passport Pages other than this one only deals with one resort vs the others having many resorts reviewed. Thanks for your efforts. I enjoy your channel. PS. I have not been traveling much since the covid restrictions were put in place.
The Atlantis,even with the improvements you describe, just seems to big and commercial for the type of all-inclusives we like, so no, I still don’t plan on visiting. We have been to the DR 3 times in the last 12 months at 2 different resorts amd the service has always been impeccable both at the more expensive Miches Club Med and the much lower priced Viva Wyndham Samana. I really like the Dominicans. We have been multiple times to the Columbus Isle Club Med in the Bahamas (best beach ever!) and the service is just ok. Maybe the Bahamians are just more quiet and less outgoing people?

Carnival is doing an excursion to this park for over 200 dollars per person. We are going to Nassau in December sounds like this wouldn't be worth it? Am I correct? Will it be that much more renovated?
It seems a bit high-we paid $110 per person a few months ago. But Shake Shack since opened. And a lot of the rennos, not all, but many have been completed. I think of yours ok with the fee, you’ll have a fun time and it’s worth it for a day trip
We have had some not great experiences in the Dominican with respect to the service We have had uninterested and down right rude employees at some resorts there and some of them were big brand name chains Didn't seem to matter even at the higher end ones and tipping didn't help Some really nice people but some not so much Mexico is a better option In my opinion
@@sope2030 Dreams Dominicus was the biggest surprise The service there was poor and sometimes some of them were just rude Lots of little things that you ignore at first but they build up The pool bartender was bitching under his breath because we were ordering frozen margaritas The pool service was terrible even though we tipped they never came around which is why we were going to the bar in the first place Leaving on the last day our transfer was there and the porter put my suitcase in the back so I tipped him a dollar He got sarcastic and said Oh thank you so much sir That really got me and I told him if you don't want it give it back I'll take it He saw that I was really mad and said he was just joking There were lots of nice people there too it wasn't all bad RIU Republica had issues too The waiters were dropping extra drinks and the entertainment guys were coming by and drinking them Little things that add up Another trip we went to the Gran Ventana and they put us in the quiet area which we didn't know about and of course the only bar open at night was in the quiet area We were kind of loud the first night as we were there with other couples and the bar tender took as dislike to us and never let it go the whole week That one was a bargain get away and wasn't that expensive so we didn't expect much The pool was filthy and cloudy from all the trees around it and bird droppings When it rained the building had open ends so the water rolled down the hallway under your room door and flooded the ground floor On the positive side the food there was very good Those trips were before covid so things may have changed
Wow, great new video! I like this style, but I would also be sad if your channel didn't do any more of your traditional style of videos. So please don't get rid of the traditional style that you usually do. As well, on a side note, I don't know who would be "giving you flak" for your comment about the service. There's no reason people should be chirping you on what opinions you may or may not have in your videos. These videos are your opinion, and you're entitled to have them. We, as the audience, are willingly listening to these opinions to help us make travel decisions. People are silly if they choose to be chirping on you for such a thing. Don't stop doing what you're doing! Love the channel.

It should be an add on option then, it returned in 2022 after being gone a few years, but the all inclusive up front they keep postponing unfortunately. They said some time in May when we went, but no concrete date unfortunately which is the way this type of change usually goes. Hope this helps!
Been there five times---but not in the last 8 or so years. Its a stunning set up. But yes, its expensive and the food/drink prices are high. Staff was generally good, but the desk people can be some rude fucks. That being said, stay at the coral--you get the better views at a lower price.
We actually tried cruise videos before and no one watched 🥴 But we have a ton of footage and info, so if my loyal subscriber base is interested, I’d love to make some videos on it bc I’ve learned ALOT recently. Let me know! 👍😊
I believe both types of videos can be helpful but in general one off resort videos will not bring the views as it only applies to people specifically looking for a review of that resort. If that is the case maybe put a bit less time into the editing so it doesn't feel like a drain of your time. Maybe they should also be a bit shorter and more compact. Thanks
Hi Vanessa! Honestly, any style of video you do is great. Regarding Atlantis, I knew it was pricey, but I didn’t realize it hadn’t been updated since it opened so I’m sure glad I didn’t go and waste my money. The last time I was on allure of the seas and we had tickets to go to the beach there and it got rained out so I’ve actually never been to Atlantis while I’ve been to the Bahamas on cruise ships several times. Also, I’ve never had problems with service in the Caribbean in general❤✈️🛳️
