Please don't encourage North Indians from Delhi or North India to move to Goa. You all have a different mentality from us Goans. You people are able to see poor people or poor kids begging in the streets and not give a damn! Outsiders have destroyed Goa with the typical North Indian GREED mentality. They don't respect the natural beauty of a place all they see is how they can make money from the place. We Goans have preserved Goa but after the Invasion of Goa, now Indians come in and destroyed the place! They have destroyed our home. 35 years ago National Geographic said Goa was a true paradise but now they use it as an example on how a beautiful place can be destroyed!!! Gujarati and Marwarie builders have come down to Goa and built and built every where!! We welcomed Indians but now too many are coming and we Goans are becoming a minority. We would like to have good Indians with good mentality like people from Kerala. They know how to respect the land. We never had poor people in Goa with no food, we always took care of our people but now Delhiwallas are coming to Goa with their high and mighty attitude and looking down on us Goans. They hire Goan servants and security guards and treat them so badly. They think because they have money they can look down on us. We have villages where everyone got along together and helped the poor widows or poor to get an education or food etc. But now the rich Bollywood and Delhiwallas and Gujaratis and Marwaries and Marathas are coming to Goa to build their huge mansions and they put up big walls surrounding their property. Moira, is considered the most beautiful village not just in India but in Asia but today the Delhiwallas are coming and putting up huge houses with compound walls. We never built big compound walls as everyone was required to get along and we were one big family. But the Outsiders are destroying our communities!!! The reason Goa WAS a beautiful place was because of our mentality, which North Indians do not have. Most, especially the Gujaratis and Marwaries like to exploit people everywhere they go, that is why they were kicked out of Africa. The Goans also had to leave too, but today all Africans countries have issued an apology to Goans ONLY!! They say that they are sorry that they asked the Goans to leave as the Goans never exploited the local people! They said that they thought Goans were the same as Indians. You can Google it. They said that will ONLY apologize to Goans and are asking Goans to come back, not any of the other Indians. Mostly North Indians went to Africa. You sound like a good person and we would like people like you to move to Goa if you choose. But also remember that Goans are upset with all the North Indians coming in with their money, might and power and Goans are upset about that. We Goans are much similar to Kerala as we are a liberal society but North Indians are coming in and bringing their hatred and close mindedness. Unfortunately our CM has been bought by North Indians that he is encouraging more North Indians to come in. He does not care about the environment as he too is an Outsider, his grandparents came to Goa when India was experiencing a famine and they begged the Portuguese to let them in. The Portuguese saved them from dying from starvation but today he talks bad of the Portuguese. He gets the what the British did with what the Portuguese did. Yes, the Portuguese were not good for 200 years but especially after 1900 they loved the Goans as equal and many intermarriages happened. But with the Invasion in 1961 they with all the Goans that worked with them left for Portugal because they were so close they didn't want to separated. They were seldom racist as the Portuguese are not really White people. Some are exactly like Indians because of the Moors that invaded Portugal. It was the British who are pure White, almost Albino, that are very different from us, so they saw Indians as different. When the Portuguese left the Portuguese governor was given an order to bomb all the beautiful builds that they built. He refused as he loved Goa, and he was imprisoned for several years after he returned to Portugal. We Goans are struggling to maintain our way of life but we are becoming a minority especially with all North Indians only that are moving here. They ruined their States with their corrupt ways and now bringing the same mentality to Goa. I hope you and others will understand. Indians come to Goa and say that we hate Outsiders. We welcomed Outsiders for a long time, but the scales have tipped and it is destroying who were Goans are. Unfortunate we can't stop it. The North Indians have bought our CM and other politicians, so we are finished. It is just a matter of time where we will not have any say, and Gujaratis and Marwaries will decide our future and we become one with them. Even the Portuguese could not change us for 450 years but in just 60 years we see the end for us under Indian rule. Everyone kept their doors and windows open because if your next door needed some sugar they could enter their house when they were not home and take the sugar and then tell the neighbors that they took some sugar and will return it. Ever since the Invasion with India now we have to put bars and gates on our houses and the old people feel like prisoners in their home. So you see so bad has happened to us after the Invasion but we are told we must not speak that truth. Now we are shocked with the crimes from Outsiders in Goa. Then Bollywood made Goa their home and brought the drugs. North Indians started buying all the restaurants on the beach and brought all the drugs. Of course some of our people are involved but they have been corrupted by these North Indians. And they are so dangerous they women will press false charges of rape if the Goans don't give them what they want. My friend, everything I tell you is true. We Goans used to very friendly people who liked to have simple fun. I remember how we Goans would meet at the beach in the evenings and boys would bring guitars and we would sing under the bonfires and stars. It was wonderful times. Lot of friends have left with Portuguese passports to Europe. You see, the Portuguese loved us so much that they gave us the option to come to Portugal for 3 generations before 1961. Meaning if someone was born in 1960, his or her grandchildren had the chance to get a Portuguese passport. Did the British do that to Indians? No!!! The British sold everything from India. The Portuguese returned all gold that was taken. They also stored all their treasures in Goa because they thought the Moors might return. And may have been some forced conversion, yes we admit that but a lot of Goans also chose to be Christian. If the Portuguese were that bad, why did you have so many Hindus living in Goa. When the Portuguese defeated the Muslim ruler and his army they forced them to convert. But there were already Christians in Goa before the Portuguese arrived. Because of Apostles Thomas and Bartholomew who arrived in Goa from the time of Jesus' death to spread the word of JesusChrist. But the RSS is always attacking us verbally when we are very peaceful people. We are now Christian for 500 years and some 2000 years but the RSS want to force us to convert to Hinduism. And sadly the Outsiders have divided us Goans by making the Hindus in Goa to turn against us Christians. So you see this Invasion has not been good for us. I love being Indian as India is so diverse and Hindus have always been so open to different people with different faiths but all that has changed now. It is not a good omen for us Goans. And I say Invasion instead of Liberation because the highest Court in India has stated under international law it is an Invasion and not a Liberation as we never were given a chance to determine our faith. When the US invaded Cuba to drive the Spanish out they under international law asked the people through a referendum if they want to be part of the US or be a free nation. Most nations want to be free and so they chose to be free. In Goa no referendum was done. Many wanted to be free and independent but the RSS did not want that as they want to create a huge Hindu Empire. Unfortunately all of this is suppressed in India. We welcome good people like you to Goa, we just don't want the rest of them, mostly of whom have a different mentality from ours.
