I’m pursuing membership via graduate chapter and I always thought I wanted to be an AKA so I quickly became friends with a group of AKAs but decided against pursuing membership once I thought more deeply about who I am and what I want to represent. I realize that, although I’m friends with these women, I didn’t love how some of them iced me out. I didn’t like feeling like I had to work for anyone’s approval or acceptance. My credentials should speak for themselves. One thing I realized is that I never felt that type of energy from any Zetas I ever met. They were down to earth, welcoming, and friendly and truly represented what sisterhood should look like. And they were just as educated, successful and beautiful as any other sorority. At the end of the day, I felt like my demeanor and energy fit better with Zetas.
Literally your story sounds exactly like mine I was surrounded by a.k.a.s And I wanted to be one but I realize after one of them betrayed me to get a head I no longer wanted to be one I definitely feel like Zeta phi Beta is the right choice for me
This happened to me early in my college days. I’m not about to Hunger Games myself to join an organization. The Zetas saw me for me and what I could bring into the organization, not an image or a stereotype. Z-Phi my Sorors of ZPHIB
Goal: Get folk delivered from dumb idols and dumb Greek gods whereby you pledge your life to and spiritually bow down the rest of your life to. Super Sad....
I went through this as well. My mom is an AKA, so I figured I'd do it because I am a legacy. However, after spending time around them, I was so disgusted by the way many of them treated people. They judged people based on their job title and car they drove. I quickly decided against it.
People are concerned about belonging to a Greek organization and honoring God. I prayed before pledging. And God gave me permission through scriptures. As long as people understand the organization is not a god or a idol in people’s heart and doesn’t take His place, He will use them to bless this world.
You are absolutely correct. They are truly some of the sweetest ladies on earth. I’ve been out of school for more than 45 years and I can still remember the Zetas in our dorm by name they were so kind and helpful. Kudos Finer Women, keep up the awesome work. Much Love 💙
this is the best "WHY" video I have stumbled across. when you mentioned no history of colorism , appreciation of women of all body sizes that weren't socially accepted at firstI feel that connection. Im so pro black and centered on becoming a better black woman and I'm very pro black woman as well hearing that gives me a lot of comfort in what they stand for. I am interested in them and would like to move forward.
YESSSSSS!!! Soror!!! This was well done. Arizona would be proud!!😃It was the Honorable History for me, The Finerwomanhood and the divine signs for me too... You articulated your point so well. Zeta was THE ONLY WAY for me.. ZZZZZZPHIIIII!!! Soooooo Sweeeeet!!💙💙💙💙💙🕊
Young Finer Woman, Soror, you did a phenomenal job of presenting why your spirit was called into Zeta. I know you are going to serve Zeta and the World well. My Dad was a Sigma and my daughter is my Legacy and we are nurturing a Future Zeta. I'm very happy to call you my Soror!
Love this! I can resonate with this video so much. The reasons you chose Zeta align with some of reasons I chose SGRho! Being above the standard is only for a chosen few, totally get it! 💙💛💙🤍
I attended Howard University. I went to school with the Alpha chapters of the first 3 Black sororities, and I could see the difference that you mention. Your future son can also learn from you to choose to become a Sigma, too. Congratulations. Happy Founders Day this weekend.
I appreciate this video so much. I'm a proud SGRHO and I have virtually the same reasons for why I chose my organization. I love supporting Blue and White family events because everyone is so welcoming, not pretentious, and are just fun to be around overall. Love my Blue Cousins! 💙💛💙🤍
They are truly some of the sweetest ladies I met in my life. Kind and helpful and I’ve been out of school for 45 years. I can only say nice things about these ladies. Keep up the awesome work, be forever blessed!💙
Spot on Soror. I pledged for the challenge of character building. I believed the challenge would make me a better person (a finer woman). I also prayed before pledging and had it confirmed by scripture and people. I didn’t want transform into a group image. I wanted the opportunity to be my creative self and share that with the my Sorors and the world we work to help.
This was such an amazing video. You’re just awesome! Can you do a video on pledging a sorority and Christianity? I would like to join a grad chapter but some of these RU-vid videos be making it seem like I’m going to hell and going against God if I do. Lol I’m like I just want to serve and be active in my community and join a sisterhood, that’s all.
At Bri, I joined Zeta Grad Chapter Fall 2008. Long story short, my husband is a Pastor and I am currently my Chapter’s President. I never conflicted my walk in God when I became a Zeta and He is still in the forefront of my life. Love this platform and just subscribed to support my Soror’s page. Keep blessing the masses Anne.
Thank you Soror for being a light thus was truly amazing video. Really brought me to tears. I felt like my decision to be a Zeta was so mature and it was crazy because here I was a young girl supposed to be enjoying life yet I had a burning desire to be apart of something that was greater than me ,but reflected me without explanation. Becoming a Zeta definitely did that for me.
Thank you for this informative video. I appreciate how you break down every point. Many people join things for connection and status, but this is a lifetime commitment, so this decision must be weighed heavily and with great forethought. Thank you
These are two different type of greek letter organizations, you can do both. I am apart of Phi Sigma Pi Honors Fraternity💜💛 and a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc 💙🕊
Hello 👋🏽 i know this video is two years old but im 27 and im also thinking of participating in a sorority… is it too late ? Ive been doing research on most sororities and didnt know if theres an age limit …
What I’ve noticed that zeta’s feel the need to explain why they did not choose other organizations. As a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha I never feel the need to explain my choice . It was my choice! You chose Zeta Phi Beta! Women of AKA look different, please do not promote stereotypes.

@@candacel6432 You do???? Study the origin of Free Masonry where fraternities and sororities come from. Study the founder of Free Masonry Albert Pike a Satanist. Do what you want but no moron makes me bow, talks down to me treats me like trash 🗑️ for 3 dumb Greek letters that represents Greek gods. Jesus works for me and not the FAKE WHITE MAN HANGING on some people's walls. Study why he was painted White as well.
Hello, I have watched your video and others several times. I wanted to see if everyone's opininon was about the same as mine. It was and I was very happy to see and feel it. I'm proud to say, that on 10/28/23, this dream became true and I am so glad I made this choice. Thank you again for sharing your why's💙🤍💙🤍🕊
