Got my Sutro S today. Had a normal sutro before, which was just too big for my face. The video helped me a lot in my decision, also in terms of the right color for the lenses. Thanks. Greetings from Switzerland .
The all black glass is actually the darkest out of the three. They’re almost the same all of them, but the black lenses is the darkest. The “red” glass is the standard/classic prizm road
Great review - perfect for cycling and driving they also look cool off the bike just walking around outside. I’m sold on the half frame version just need to decide on the lens as I’m in cloudy U.K.
The red ones looked very good on you. I'm going to try these for running. Maybe I should review them on how they perform for running it's impossible to find decent reviews like these . Very good video
Best review of these glasses. I have a small head so I definitely will getting the S. These look small on you, I think he regular sutro might fit you better actually.
This video is literally perfect for me. Had a few pairs of S2's, been loving em. But I'm concerned the Sutros will scratch too easy, as my pair of Holbrooks scratch very easy. Guess we'll see! The S2's don't scratch very easily at all
@@benphilippi2288 Road Prizm are intended for Road cycling, they also do a Trail Prizm for MTB, Prizm Black are more of an all rounder that’s a bit darker
Great video bro!!!!! I definitely want a pair especially right now going into mid april.April.... im going with all black pair first then I'm thinking the red one/ orange look for when im on beach ⛱️
I also consider Julbo Rush, as they cheaper and seems to have more adjustment options. But from my research it seems, that Oakley have superior lens technology ?
Thanks for the review. I'd add maybe two things in future reviews. Some closeups of frames would be cool. It would be nice to see that nosepiece a bit more closely. I'm also curious about the hinge, whether plastic or metal. A quick glance of outside through the glasses would be good too, e.g. this is without and this is with .... I like Oakley. But getting good pics or vids of what the outside looks like through a lense seems to not be a popular thing to capture. In particular, I'm curious what the Jade one looks like.
Do you have Prizm Jade lense or the Road Jade version ? I’m thinking about buying them, but I don’t know which version I should pick. They say green (prizm jade) is more for a every day use, and the pink (road) are specifically for road biking. Can’t find prizm road Jade (green, but in road version) in my country which I’m digging the most, so I’m a bit confused :( thanks for the video, great work !
Would it be possible to get the exact model/sku number for those glasses? On the website they can a different discretion, I am really liking that green tint. Thank YOU!
Do these sutros come with a clear lens, along with the tinted ones? The 100% come with two lenses from what I've heard but wasn't sure if oakley did this as well.
No they do not come with clear. Not even sure if they offer that. Yes, 100% come with clear lenses. I never used mine. You can buy extra or replacement lenses for the Sutros.
Hey, when you ordered from Oakley did you have to pay customs/ duties? I just ordered 3 pairs from Oakley Canada (I'm in Canada) and I see they shipped from the US. That could mean they charge me $150 or so in taxes when I get them from the courier. thanks
hey, just thinking of buying the Sutro S but I'm not sure if it will stay on during downhill mtb sessions or it can fall off easily. It doesn't have the Unobtanium on the temples like the Radar EV does. Anybody and suggestion? thank you :)
@@benphilippi2288 i bought sutro S with prizm road lenses and they fit perfectly. I have small face and normal sutro are oversize for me. Also sutro s are larger and fit less tight than my Radar (sorry for my english I am italian)
You live in Canada and don't ride in the woods? My guy, I would put a glass of dirt from bc in my bed to get better sleep... You live in nirvana for Mountainbikers and don't use it ☹️
I'm thinking about buying Sutro S.. But having hard time to choose lens color. Can you please advice - witch lens color will be best for me? I want lens, that shows more natural colours and let in as much light as possible. (But no clear lens).
the one he chose is the most versatile because it sits in the middle of the 3. He chose the Prizm Road, Road Jade, and Road Black. The road lets in 20% light, the jade lets in 15%, the black lets in 11%. They are all Prizm Road lenses w/ a 'rose' base for contrast. He chose Prizm Road Jade.
Totally overrated glasses. I'm glad I tried these on before ordering to see how much light gets through from under the bottom of the lens. I do have a slim face. Thankfully, Oakley has released Kato and Encoder, both of which suit best. Encoder is definitely worth every buck spent on it.
Sutro is a more casual frame. Kato is their latest cycling performance pair. Also, I don't really think light getting in from the bottom should be an issue, considering not much light comes from directly below you to cause interference
