Here's the story of my university application, why I chose to study maths and how I ended up at Southampton 👩🏻‍🎓Next time I'll be talking about my whole university experience, so stick around for that!

I find these types of videos very interesting as a 2nd year maths student at Edinburgh! It's interesting to hear your experiences and I'd love to see more videos about your experience during university as well!

The same thing happened with my girlfriend and I with picking unis! It was mad, we both independently looked for ages and somehow both ended up loving Birmingham the most. Southampton is definitely up there for me also :)

I think you should do a video about your favourite/least favourite/hardest Math courses you took during your degree. Not many people are really making those kinda videos on RU-vid and I think it would be quite interesting.

Hi Beth, your videos helped me find Southampton University and i fell in love on open day. Hopefully I will be accepted on results day to do Psychology, so thank you for your videos helping me make my decision

@Simona yes I applied to halls also, Glen eyre was my first choice and Wessex Lane my second, although either one would be good for me :)

What subjects did you take at GCSEs and how does the grading convert to percentages?..coz I have heard about something called grade boundaries and I want some clarity... I am not from UK evidently!:)))

Do you know of any students who had didnt meet either of their firm or insurance choices? Did they still get in, do you know of cases where the uni still takes them at lower grades than the offer? Cheers, i enjoy your videos and they have helped me a lot

I’m in my last year of uni at UNSW studying science majoring in maths and stats and I’m kind of feeling anxious to be honest. Like while I enjoyed learning the stuff in uni, I felt and still feel a lot of pressure. Everyone told me that I’d enjoy uni and that once I leave and join the workforce it’s going to get really rough. I feel like all this time I’ve been always thinking about the next exam or assignment that I’ve had no time to experience the “fun” that the people were telling me about. I suppose maybe they meant learning the subjects that your degree consists of were fun rather than doing the subjects with essays and writings you normally get back in high school. It kind of makes me think, as you get older, does life just get harder?

hi there, im thinking of coming to study psychology at Southampton next year, wanted ask - are people very friendly and welcoming to international students there? I worry about making friends, as I can be quite shy and don't like clubbing/drinking... how has your experience been at the uni?

Did your college ever press you to continue with 4 A levels because you were doing further maths?

They were a bit pushy about only taking Further Maths as an additional AS / A Level rather than as a subject in its own right. Most people who did Further Maths did 5 AS’s but I think most of them did 3 subjects at A2.
