America. You can own land, can speak your mind without getting deported, A complete diversity of weather, people, plenty of jobs, Better medical, U can use your SS medical, People fight to come to America, 50 States 50 kinds of beauty and weather, New cars are cheaper in the USA, Cars R negotiable, The Phil land cost more, people have to leave the PH to find a decent job, Ph prices is very very very high to the average PH family, Banks and PAL, Cebu Airlines, all the malls, all the Major stores, hotels, land, subdivision are all owned by China. China owns the Philippines. Electronics is cheaper in the USA. Only thing that is cheap in the PH is labor related such as Chinese exploiting the people in their own Country.
I respect your opinion but I've lived in America all my life I've even fought for the country that I'm from but For everything good that you can say about America I have something to match that's good about the Philippines I love it here I found my peace here and this is where I will be, but of course as I said you're entitled to your opinion and I respect that! Thanks for watching👍🏽God Bless
As an army vet, I’m ashamed of where we are as a nation. We can send billions to other nations and can’t solve problems here in our own country. Government just keeps adding to the national debt clock, and just keeps increasing their debt ceiling making the fed print more $$$ in turn decreasing the value of the dollar. Gov trying to increase age of retirement again but positions in gov work 10 years and retire with 6 figures a year for the rest of their life. Illegals immigrants getting US benefits that we as Americans have to fight for. Gov trying to make it so you no longer have to prove US citizenship to vote so they can control who’s president. Cost of living keeps increasing but wages stay the same. 50 states but need 50 different driver’s licenses if you move/ live in different states. Broken court system. Death row criminals get to live a long time in the prison system on tax payers money before their sentence is carried out. College that puts you in life debt when other countries offer free college to their citizens in turn come here for work. People’s feelings are more important than the constitution. From birth we are told that this is the greatest nation on earth, we are lead to believe that. It’s a form of brainwashing. Need I say more?
As an American, I didn’t discover the Philippines until my mid 50s. The first time I went I hated it - admittedly very shallow. But over the years it became a love affair with the greatest people and the greatest place on earth. Now….its the only place I wanna be.
Thank you for sharing this..As a person lived in Ohio most of my life, I escaped Ohio to Florida… now I am, saving for my retirement to live in the Philippines
I’m a Filipina nurse that moved to MN 20 years ago and I totally agree with you when you mentioned that cold place cold heart, warm place warm hearts. That was my first impression of Americans, a lot of them were cold towards Asians. I have sent half a dozen of my white coworkers to HR for being racist and mean towards me and my other fellow Asian workers. I only got sick and injured here in the US and stress too much that I am contemplating on going back in the Philippines real soon. I couldn’t even enjoy walking outside for fear of being harassed by homeless people. US is very different now. I’m so glad you are happy in my home country. Bless your heart Dean.
Wow sorry about your experience! If you lived closer to the East coast like here in VA, we could be friends! But this has been my experience since my family moved to the USA from Canada 🇨🇦 in November of 1999.
Wow sorry for your experience there. I’m in Colorado and I never had experience like that Thank God for that. The one I have issue with is with my other Filipino sad to say.
I was born and raised in the Philippines but have been living here in the USA for over 40 years. Now that I have retired, I will be going back and spend the rest of my life there. There is no place like the Philippines! Yes, it is a developing country but not everything is about money. At the end of the day you need friends and family and the feeling that you belong in a community. I'm sorry to say I don't feel that here California. We welcome ex-pats like you Dean! I hope you've encouraged more Americans to live in the Philippines. Thank you for the good words and praises you say about the Philippines and its people. God bless!
Struck with what you said the reality in away from our country. This confirms what my sister living and working in LA that there is no home like the Philippines. Last year she spend 3x doing a vacation and spend lots of money and i told her you are spending too much in your vacations yet she snap back that that is the reason she works hard abroad to enjoy spending time here in our country.
@@maryriolagtapon4958 "born and raised" typically means you spent your childhood years in one place. Those years, plus 40 years in the US puts them at retirement age. Retirement typically means the period of life after your working years; no need for a job.
Yes Bro. I'm a retired veterans also and loved in Central Luzon province of Nueva Ecija. I saved much more there, than living in USA. The cost of living there is three times lower. I live on less than one thousand dollars a month and lived safer than in US. Thanks for sharing why you spend your retired life in the Philippines. GOD BLESS, SEMPER FI BRO.
My eyes started to tear hearing your story...It is like an answered prayer. Thank God you found a woman that redeem you from all the emotional pain you have been...If a person is an open minded, see the positivity of all all things, it will be easy to adopt...Me as an Asian a filipino welcome you in our country what ever your nationality you are in. It is not a perfect country, it has many flaws but still continuesly progressing...Hoping and praying for your safety and peaceful life here in Philippines...❤
He's playing you honey. He could not retire on his military pension in the USA and that is why he is in the Philippines. Of course there are a lot of nice things about the Philippines and the people but he had built his channel by fawning.
Thank you brother for your service. I am a disabled veteran and married to a Filipina in Mindanao too. I am getting ready to make the move permanently over there by October because we have a baby on the way. Love your content!

I agree with you. I am also an American living in The Philippines. I had the nerve to come here after about 7 annual vacation trips. When I left for the last time, my American family basically disowned me except for just a couple of family members. I have been living here for over 2 years since my last trip. My wife is Filipina. Her extended family is so big, it's fantastic.
Hey Dean, I live just outside of Minneapolis currently. I am also a 100% disabled vet and I will be heading to the PH in a few more years to live a good retirement.
Proud Born and raised in Iligan City Philippines but Im living here in Tennessee UsA for over 13yrs now . I enjoy my life here with my husband and son. I also have a lot of friends and we have a Filipino community here.I embrace and enjoy every seasons here . Yes I dont like the winter but I love to see the lil snow here in Knoxville. Your little girl is so pretty! I'm glad she gets to grow up with Filipino values and i'm happy for you that you found your happiness here. Our country ain't perfect but we welcome anyone who wants to make their home here as long as they show respect to our people. Respect begets respect. 😊
Thanks for sharing your experience not only from your past but the brighter future you have with your family there in the philippines Im glad to hear you have found peace and clarity there with your life and family there
I accidentally saw your channel while perusing for what channel to watch and I enjoyed listening to your reasons for choosing to live in the Phil full time. You got me hooked so I decided to subscribe to your channel.
Dean, you did the best decision of your family life choosing to live in the Philippines! More peaceful, lovely people, respectful, etc., Even me, Dean, I’m tired of shoveling snow!! During winter, we spend more money heating our homes. It takes all our hard-earned money, not to mention the government share in our taxes!! Everything here, you pay taxes!! Kudos to you Dean for choosing to live there in the Philippines!!👍🇵🇭🇺🇸 ( Dean, my son was also a US Marine served in Iraq. He is well respected just like you, buddy! Take care, be safe always)🇵🇭🇺🇸
Thanks for appreciating the Philippines, Dean! I just hope the Americans will not take this negatively. For some reason, the PH has been receiving a lot of hate online from other Westerners these past few years. 😭😂
54 years old war veteran from Croatia. In last 3-4 years a lots of filipino people come to work in my country so I became a friend with few of them and my friend is in a relationship with a filipino women...so Ive learned about country and people...Whatcing yours and other videos about Philippines and decieded to give it a try...Going first for a month or two and will see maybe go back, maybe stay. Exited and almoust counting days. Never been outside Europe so its a big step for me...

Man! I felt this! Everything you said! I have to go back to Virginia to settle my affairs in a month but I'll be back here to stay as fast as I can! This is home now!
Bruh, awesome video and thanks for sharing your experience! I’ve been telling the brothers about my experience here in the Philippines and they don’t believe me. Keep up the good work!💯👊🏽
So happy for you! I want to go back home when I retire too. My husband loves it there! So glad this helped better your life and you are having fun again
Thanks for the advice about becoming involved with the culture. I am learning Bisaya/Tagalog and coming to understand the "take it literally" mindset. I am not yet an Expat, but 2025 is my time leave the work force via retirement.
For someone who've been to war, your soul needs nature to nurture and heal it. You will not recover surrounded by artificial things and stressed out population. I hope you recover even more the longer you stay.
Awesome video! You are the testament that the Philippines is a great country, it's not perfect but a wondrous livable place to be. Thanks for your kind words, appreciate it much... More power & blessings to you and your loved ones!
Hey Dean, it's more fun in the Philippines but your personality just makes it even better. Thank you for embracing our cultures and making your better life possible through it. We are Filipinos working in Europe and it's demmmn cold and yes we will be leaving this place soon and retire back in the Philippines, nothing beats home! Bless you and your family too ❤️🙏🏼❤️
It is you that makes your life great. It's your choices, your acceptance, how you deal with a situation, how you see what's there positively, etc. The Philippines and it's people are instruments in your healing and being happy but still it's up to you. Love begets love! Your personality is attractive to many Filipinos because you're warm like us and funny. So it's easy for you to be with Filipinos. I was engaged to a black American back in 2017 but he doesn't want to embrace my Filipino culture nor wants to live in the Philippines plus other red flags that made us decide not to move forward. It was the right thing to do. I am glad you found your peace and is happy with your family here in my country. God bless.
Filipinos are warm and family-oriented..We love our whole family and never leave each others back..That culture is being taught to us naturally..respect elders as they are the foundation of who we are ♥️ you're lucky to raise your children surrounded with nice family and I assure you dude your children will take care of you and never forget to pay back your hardship providing them their needs..that's how we Filipino take care our family 🥰
i salute you sir for embracing philippine culture..and you happy ,peaceful in staying our country. hope someday you will become a charity vlogger here 👍👍
as someone who haven't been to the US, i really dont understand why PH is considered dangerous place. I mean PH is a poor country but i think its not that dangerous. More power Dean !
Thank you! You are an engaging funny witty human being. Thanks for loving the Philippines ❤ I'm glad you are now happy and enjoying life with family & and friends, especially your cute kids.
It's nice to hear that the Philippines healed you. Thanks for promoting this country despite what others say or heard about because you saw it all firsthand.
I’m glad you found your piece of heaven. The Philippines is a wonderful country, specially for those who embrace the culture and that the most of it. I wish all the best for you and your family. Ampin kuya
My own family live here in LA. You’re lucky enough for choosing Phils vs US! Food here is terrible many people are getting sick and i hate it! Culture, food, family and environment in the PHILIPPINES are THE BEST! Planning to go back there and settle to my homeland for good! Enjoy Pinas, bro! Just subscribed now to your channel.😊
This is so cool, now I remember you on TV. You were the brother that was super cautious about your brother getting with his Pinay lol. Wow, what a life change because I never would have guessed you would have moved there. Awesome!
I agree with this whole video, but I'm kind of selfish in the way that I'd like to keep it a secret how wonderful it is here. When you said Love, I have so much here that almost 0 in the USA, I have a stuff time taking it all in. I met my wife in Hawaii in 2008, married her 3 months later, and new that one day we will move to her province. I tell my family back in California that I will die here, this is my first year here and many more to come. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you Sir for adopting our culture, our food and everything! Watching u here in the middle east it's heart warming 🙏 we love u Sir and thank you so much 🙏 any way ur look Filipino coz of ur colour sir, in ur country u could black guy but when i saw u ur a colour of a true Filipino 🇵🇭. Again thank you! God bless you!
Filipinos are family centered people. We depend on each other when one is not capable to do things be it at home or helping in watching our kids while we're at work.Keep doing what you're doing, enjoy your family and invite your friends and family back home.People loves you for being friendly.
Your channel is my happy pill! Thank you for your kind words towards my country and keeping it as your forever home. May the almighty bless you with more subscribers!🙏🙂🇵🇭🇺🇸❤
Hi Dean, thank you for your kind words about our country Philippines, and for promoting it around the world. I know my country is not perfect but we're doing our best to welcome everyone with open arms to those who want to come and live here in peace to embrace our culture and give respect to our people. Your vlog is like an eye-opener to those planning to visit the Philippines. Good luck to you and your family. Wish you well, and live in peace full of love every day for many years to come. Pag amping permi. Daghan salamat.
Dean, I came across your channel and love your energy and perspective on the Philippines. I can only speak for myself to say, that just because I live in the Philippines doesn't mean I hate America. I still pay taxes and like you a veteran. I'm also a defense contractor working OCONUS alongside our awesome military. Live where you are most comfortable and happy. I also get the stares as an African American in the Philippines. My solution was to say hello which surprised them and made them smile at the same time. I live in Cavite, Dasma to be exact. Hope we can hang out one day and chop it up and tell some lies and truths. Lol.
I am happy to see foreigners meeting their true 💕 👏👏👏🇵🇭 in the Philippines. Some have success and others are trying to understand the cultural differences.
Thank you for this vlog. It brought tears to my eyes. I am glad the Philippines helped heal your war trauma. But it's not only because of the country and the people. You yourself come across as a good soul..... a kind heart. God bless you, Dean.
Hi ,Dean I accidentally found your Channel and I truly enjoyed watching your Video .I laugh all day with you. Your baby girl looks so Cute❤❤❤Welcome and so glad to hear that you are happy .God Bless !Watching from California
Dean I totally agree with you about the climate and mood thing. I am an American from Maine and I have been retired in Cebu for a year now. I have not missed the cold and snow or the high cost of living back in Maine.
Aaaawww, I’m so glad you found peace in the Philippines. You have a beautiful family. I wish I could move back there to one of the islands, but my family is here in the states. Thank you for speaking so highly of my country. Proud Filipina here. ❤

You fell inloved in our country bcoz u have a Big and Kind Heart ❤ , You have a Filipino Heart inside you Bro ,, Mabuhay Ka Dean God Bless U and ur Family
My story is very similar to yours. After high school in 1969 I went directly into Army at 17 years old, during basic I turned 18. Went to advanced training and was in Vietnam before the end of the year. Really screwed with my head. For 50 years I had problems, couldn't maintain relationships, alcohol abuse and I finally got to the point where all I could think about, dream about and care about was my own death. The VA helped a bit but no cure. The short of my story is that I ended up in the Philippines married to a beautiful woman. I am happier and more relaxed than I ever have been. I still have some issues like quick to anger ( but getting better), cannot sit with my back facing the door and I still have nightmares but nothing like before. I am in my third year here and have no desire to return to the U.S. . I enjoy your positive outlook and attitude.
I like your personality,i love how you adopt our culture and embraced the people.and the way you explore our country and shared it to others.keep it up bro.😊
im a Filipino and Working as OFW ... The Good thing about Philippines is... if you earned Dollars ,Euro, Pound and Bring to Philippines ,,for conversion that"s a lot of Money... I’m Filipino, and yes I’m not a fan of snow. But, I do like fall colors, esp in Pennsylvania, pocono mountains, beautiful. And for sure there are plenty of other places too. Brother, straight up, your humor, your character. You’ll fit anywhere except in the saddest places
Nyc weather the same way, winter cold as ish. What part of The Philippines did you move to? Good video, you have a good personality and story telling ability. Also the best part of the Philippines is the people!
