Just combed out my locs and I defintiely feel more free and understand the process of using it to get past a rough part of your life, I hope you and everyone else that may be feeling the same is feeling far better now

I feel this. Even though I still feel like I’m in this rough patch, I don’t feel connected to my locs as to when I started and kinda ready for them to go. Like wanting to start a new chapter (again) in life.

I think this was the inspiration I needed. I'm 4yrs in as of Feb. The same year I started my journey my mom died, and i became homeless, had a miscarriage, and now have a 1yr old in 2weeks. I never colored my hair since starting my loc journey and i considered it. Actually bought the stuff 😂. But i think im about to start combing my hair out TODAY. My hair has never been this long and I've considered the idea so long now. I used to cut my hair so much cause yes the bad ass feeling was amazing lol. But I think its time for these to go!! Im ready!! 🥰your hair is gorgeous!!

@TheTianaAlexandra hi. I'm African & meddle eastern, my parents knew no better & used hardcore perm when I was a kid and burned my scalp at that. Then I myself with no guidance I did a lot to my hair. I went natural for a few years with only Braids. But I want my hair longer like shoulder length or a little longer, with having locks and unlock it it's possible from what I seen right? And who should I go and have them do the up keeping

I’m absolutely the same way about my hair. I do not like hairstyles that restrict me from expressing myself my hair is the first thing I change when I’m feeling down or need a quick change in my life . When I look back at old photos of my hair, they always tell a story I’m able to like look at these pictures and identify what space mentally It’s the way I kind of sort of measure my grown. 😩😩 I am so proud of you and I can’t wait to go on this new hair journey with you ❤️❤️❤️🤗

Took me about 2 months to comb out my locs (took about an hour each but I had about 80 thick locs) and if anyone is worried about retaining length or thickness in hair, your hair will be fine I promise. Mine was thicker than it's ever been thanks to the process and the was Tiana says we should comb through it

This video is so real and I love that. I'm going to comb out my locs that I've had for almost 18 months now. I have 4c, so they're fully locked and have dropped as well. I also have the same lint build-up issue in the last back row of my locs. I tried picking it out, I did a loc detox, nothing works. I might do another set, but this one has to go.

Sad to see them go. Your hair is gorgeous both ways. You are in control of your hair, your hair doesn’t control you. Comb, cut, do whatever suits you best. I love locs and love the low maintenance. I still have 7 mo starter locs so I haven’t even gotten to your point yet but once my locs fully mature I’m sure I’ll love them even more. I LOVED my loose natural hair but the maintenance and tangling became too much for me and took up too much of my life. I developed almost an obsessive disorder over my loose hair and missed out on many outings, experiences, and excursions because of my hair. But getting locs and letting go really helped me ❤️ you were definitely one of my inspo’s! Peace !

This video helped me a lot. I’ve been debating for a while about combing them out, but I’ve had some pretty bad relationships during my time having locs. And I think they’ve sort of just become associated with all these people that haven’t been good for me in my life. Something they always would compliment me on and looking back I hate how attached my hair has become as a part of what makes me considered good looking.

Thank you. There was one loc at the top, in the middle area where I experienced breakage. I didn’t notice it right away because it was such a small piece. Other than that I’ve just had shedding as I expected. This could also be attributed to me being 4 months postpartum or maybe both. You’re bound to break some hair off in the process but I don’t think it’ll look “ate up” lol. Focusing on moisture retention once it’s all loose is gonna be really important so it doesn’t break off from being too dry.

Honestly for the majority of the time I had locs I did absolutely nothing. Like literally nothing at all. The most I would do is cover them up with a satin scarf or bonnet when I was lounging around or sleeping. I was going through it and being neglectful to my hair tho. At the least I’d say spray them with water for moisture and seal it in with a light oil or something.
