I think the phrase "Ultimate Workbench" is overused. No one workbench could be classified as ultimate because everyone has different needs and workflow. I've also got tall people problems. I'm six foot two without shoes on. Drives my back crazy that my table saw and assembly table are so low. A good workbench/assembly/outfeed table is key in ones workflow and at some point I will need to build me a new one. Haven't experienced trouble with any of the Milwaukee tool M12 or M18 drills, impacts or drivers like what you explained in the video. You may want to look into the warranty for those tools. I've dropped my stuff before and it keeps going.
I tried to poke a little fun at the whole "ultimate workbench thing" and I couldn't agree more with you. My drills and impacts don't do it often, but I would assume I use them much more than the average person. I have talked to some other tradesmen that have experienced it as well.
