I've owned Glocks and Sigs for 35 years. I've never had an issue with either brand. I've found both to be equally reliable. I currently carry a Sig P365 X-Macro and haven't had a single issue you're complaining about.

I have several P365. I have 2 I interchange for daily carry. Both are original short frames with curved triggers. One is a ported SAS, the other has an XL slide. They each have over 5k rounds through them. They use the same magazines because I just pick up a different gun with the same go pack. They go in the same holster. I don't like the flat trigger. The XL frame is fine, but it's more difficult to conceal. Im not sure what your experience is different from mine, but mine make carrying dramatically easier than the smallest Glock

I'm glad to see you use the words "I" and "My" in your title. You've had some bad experiences with your Sig P365s and therefore have decided not to carry them. I have been shooting for 50 years. I've owned Colt, Ruger, Glock, Springfield Armory, Beretta, HK, Kimber, Browning and other handguns that had something either go wrong or just irritate me. If I were to go on a pontifical rant on every manufacturer that produced a lemon, I would have to resort to carrying a sword. With the knowledge that no manufacturer can create a perfect gun, my Sig P365s have functioned with zero issues with any of them. None of them rusted, although my Colt, Beretta, and Kimber did. So, you don't trust your P365; I'm happy that you have something else to carry every day. I'll keep carrying mine. Every day. Why? Because after so many rounds, I trust it.

Exactly! It’s all about preference and what works for us and what doesn’t. I currently am testing my new sig p365 and really hoping it continues to run the way it has and then I may even carry it. Added new grip module so it fits my hands better, just want to make sure it runs flawlessly before carrying it. I appreciate the comment and view. Respect

I recently got a 365 in 380 because I wanted a micro compact that I could shoot better than the 9mm version. I've shot the 9mms before and done okay, but nothing special. Despite doing my fair share of handgun shooting, I have never really considered myself the greatest shot with anything other than a full size pistol. But the 365 in 380 is the first compact firearm to truly inspire confidence in my aim, especially after adding the XL grip module and a Hogue grip sleeve. I've never fired as quickly or as accurately with a smaller handgun before. Many people will probably sneer at the thought of using a 380 that large as a primary EDC, but it works for me so I don't care. I did consider other similar options like the Glock 42 and S&W EZ, but I wasn't impressed by their lack of capacity. Going with a .380 as a primary CCW is already a huge compromise, so compromising on capacity as well didn't make much sense to me. Anyways, the only other option that came up in my research was the Ruger Security 380. It definitely fit the capacity requirements, but felt like a cheap, chunky brick in my hand compared to the SIG. No, a 365 may not be for everyone, and that's completely okay! Mine hasn't had any reliability issues as of yet, but it is a little concerning to hear about the rust issue with yours. I'll definitely have to keep an eye on it. Thanks for the video!

Thanks for the info on the 380 version. As an older mechanic with hands that sometimes suffer my all my years beating them up due to work, the 380 might be better for me. I regret selling the great Sig P320 in all stainless that I had over 25 years ago. That thing might have only held 8 total, but it carried flat due to single stack mag. A bit heavy but that made it absorb any recoil from the small gun. But not a gun you would shoot more that 50 rds any given time. I just hate to spend on the expensive and somewhat hard to get .380 rounds. Its out there but as you cost, can cost 50-100% more than 9mm. Have no idea why since it is smaller in length and materials.

Trust is about emotions, and emotions are very personal. So the fact that you don't trust Sigs is entirely unhelpful to me. You had some malfunctions in one Sig, big deal. I had 2 Glocks malfunctioning bad in the past. Does this mean I'll never carry a Glock again? You heard about other people's rust issues with Sigs, as everyone by now did. I had a Walther, a H&K rust on me, and recently saw a rust blanket on a friend's Shield Plus. So what? Does this mean I'll never carry a Walther or a Shield Plus? Come on. I totally respect your nervousness about Sig, I just don't know what to do with it. Those are your feelings. I'll stick to your factual content, which I happen to enjoy a lot. This happens not to be one of your factual videos.

@@sevse23While he didn’t do a very good job of explaining why he doesn’t prefer it, there are a lot of valid points that Sig is no longer a premium manufacturer. I just bought the X macro with the comp. The mags it came with look like some of the cheapest mags I’ve seen. The coating on them isn’t very good. Compared to my old 320 mags. People have complained of rust recently more than other companies. There’s also a lot of weird issues them that you don’t see with other guns. Like it not firing, but will fire when held upside down. Or won’t fire, but will if you shake it a little. It’s like a German car (over engineered). My motto is to base it on testing the gun you have and not as a whole. As long as my new 365 is reliable, I will trust it. I’m not going to base my opinion based on other people’s guns, because that’s not the gun I own. What this guy should’ve said is the plastic Sigs seem to have more problems than others. So he has more trust with better track records.

As a long time fan I remember when you were having those issues with your seer in your p365. That would be super frustrating for anyone. As an admitted sig fan boy I do have to say that I feel as though sig gets a bad rap. The p320 issues were unexcusable but I do feel like the p365xl is the best concealed carry option for a multitude of reasons and as a huge spokesperson for cc I feel like you should through it through an extensive torture test and see if your assumptions about sig are true. Admittedly only because I can't afford to and I am very curious about the trigger issues specifically lol. Anyway much love and God bless.

How are you, my brother? Have you shot the Hellcat for a while and then gone to shoot the P365 X ? When I do that, I can really tell the difference, and I shoot the P365 better with the Wilson Combat XL grip. I love the Hellcat; it seems like a little tank and has been so reliable for me. Even the screws for the optic are better, in my opinion, on the Hellcat. But when it comes to shooting, I shoot the Sig better or the Glock. You should try the Wilson Combat XL grip to see if you like it. It feels like a different gun. Mine has been really reliable, but I also don't have that many rounds through it. Maybe around 600, compared to my Hellcat or the Hellcat Pro with over 3k rounds, never a single malfunction. My G26? I've lost count, lol. I do carry the Hellcat also just because I trust that one more, but for me, the 26 is hard to beat. I also shoot the P365 X better than all my other micros, but it's also because of the upgrades it has. Another awesome thing about the G26 is that you can always take it to states that have magazine restrictions, and it's legal in almost every state. That's something else to consider that's in favor of the G26."

I have a 365 9mm with thumb safety. I haven’t yet had any issues. Only beef is that mags are really hard to load to capacity when new. Other than that, it works fine. I noted that they have. A lot of packing gunk on them when new that really ought to be cleaned off. I was a Glock guy since 1987. They work and are very durable and simple. I hate the shape of the factory trigger shoe however. Few options when you kind of need to keep the carry gun stock. In 30 plus years of Glock shooting and carrying, I’ve seen slides and internals rust. Rare but it will happen when they’re neglected. Still shot, but they’ll rust.

My P365 is a .380, and I'm just starting to carry it, transitioning from a TCP that has been flawless despite its low price and iffy reputation. I'll probably still deep conceal the TCP no matter what main arm I'm carrying. I have four Glocks, all three "traditional" sizes, and a pair of Daggers (so far just fine), but none of them are as easy to conceal as the P365. Haven't found a really good holster solution yet. My P365 currently wears a Holosun EPS Carry and TLR-7 Sub, and that's proving to be troublesome. Not the gun, not the light, not the sight. The size of the gun and the light together. I'm 5'11' and 165 lbs, so I find concealment of anything bigger than my hand to be problematic in warm weather. That's why I've carried the TCP or my S&W 642 for so long. I'm trying out a Crossbreed holster, which works very well for the gun/light/'sight combo, but it's difficult getting used to a non-leather holster. As the weather gets cooler in a couple of months, I think this will get easier.

I have an XL which I've really enjoyed ( beside returning it for a dead front night site ), just got a tacops grip ordered to convert. Ultimately it's my home defense piece. Love the feel of the 365's & the flat triggers -- hope Glock presents a good flat trigger someday. Plan to get a .380 P365 for carry soon -- reliable, concealable and very shootable. So, I don't know about the new P365's, but my old slide was made about a year after the P365 launch. Never rusted no matter how much I sweat all over it. The magazine however, did get a little rust under the plastic base plate, but that was easily remedied. As for the performance of the pistols. The original gun had a little over 1000rds through it (started shooting a lot more this past year since I graduated), and the second FCU and slide is around 1700rds, hard to tell since I let a bunch of other people shoot it when they ask (results in people wanting to copy the setup). The finish on the Shalotek slide is a really tough black nitride, and the only rust I have seen is a little from the dawson precision sights (they warn about that). I have another 150rds of Fiocchi left, and then I will probably pick up another 1000 from my job, it's either going to be Gecko or New Republic (Both made in Sirok, and super similar labels). Being that I work at a gun club, I have shot quite a number of guns. My P365 is one of the best performing carry guns for its size, weight, and price. The only guns that I shoot better, are my managers Nighthawk, and his EDCX9...which are SIGNIFICANTLY more expensive. I would say the G48 within 100rds was a pretty decent shooter, but the lack of texture was annoying, and the gun shit the bed repeatedly on us for the first 200rds (unlike my P365's). Long story short...shoot whatever works best for you, but the P365 has earned its spot and is a best seller for a reason. It's not related to the P320, and it's one of the few firearms from Sig that I am willing to buy.

I have a OG p365. Shelved it because I did not trust it. It was a striker and trigger return spring breaking baby. Had some issues with slide barrel hood contact.. I fought with Sig until they went through it. FK sig customer service. Replaced a lot of parts including the barrel. Still carried my G43 43x and 48. Took them out one day. Shot the Sig better. Noticeably better. Since picked up a p365xl and Spector comp slide. I know they have rust issues but I have not had rust. I pull it out of the holster after a day of carry and have sweat on it. Just wipe it down daily.

You can purchase ANY part INSIDE the FCU WITHOUT a background check. I mail ordered a complete set of spare parts for my P365 FCU and slide. It's only the serialized FCU frame for which you need to pass a background check in order to purchase. I can disassemble and reassemble the P365 FCU blindfolded. The most difficult item to remove and replace is the extractor coiled spring pin. With the proper size punch and starter punch it's easy. There is NO difference between the curved and straight trigger EXCEPT for the shape! The FCUs and internal parts are identical. The required trigger pull force is identical at the tip of the trigger. The curved trigger (which I prefer) keeps your finger pulling at the middle of the trigger. If you have a fat finger you will still pull at the middle of the straight trigger and the pull force will be the same as the curved trigger. If you have a thin finger you can pull the trigger closer to the tip of the straight trigger and you will have more leverage and the required pull force will be less. But the break will be identical with either the straight or curved trigger. If you are truly worried about reliability for carry, buy two P365s. One for carry with a very low round count and the 2nd for target practice that you can beat to crap. Everyone needs to have at least two pistols so they have a backup if one pistol develops problems.

I was planning on getting this in .380. Couldn't find a range with a rental in that caliber so i tried 9mm today. I'm not sure if it was that specific rental but i felt like I shot it better than my XDM 9 compact or even my M9A4, I just couldn't believe it. That's why i think the idea that full size guns are easier to shoot is not always true for everyone. I have smaller hands and always had a bit of an issue shooting full sized 1911s, constantly having to re-grip the pistol. So unless you have huge hands, this is a sweet shooter in 9mm. I'll probably get it in 380 also.

The Glock 19 felt like a piece of wooden 2X4 in my hand, could not hit anything. My first P365 had light primer strikes, primer drag, failure to fire and no feed, bullet nose impacted on the front of the magazine. Problem was gunk and metal shavings in the striker channel. After clean up it runs well, no rust and it feels perfect to the hand.

I am not a Sig hater, I have two of the older ones, a 938 and a 238. My thoughts are, the older hammer fired pistols were their peak. But I have never liked how they handle problems. The 938 and 238, they changed the generation, didn't tell anybody, and the parts were not interchangeable. And they wouldn't fix known issues until there was a problem (I have personal experience with that). And then they started doing away with the lineup. Then the polymers came out and started having issues with strikers and triggers in the 365s, and of course then the problems that the P320 has seen. And of course they don't want to lose their contracts so they're not going to admit anything, even after 150 or so incidents. Do I think they can fix it? Maybe. I hope they do. But I have a bad feeling it's going to take somebody getting killed before they finally faced that they have a problem. And I know, people say it's because the holster didn't fit the pistol right, or user error, or hitting it with a seatbelt, etc. My question is, why would you have a fully cocked striker system without an external safety, that can go off that easily by just being bumped into a holster that hits the trigger? Or is there something in the sear? We may never know. But I will say this, I have no intention of carrying a polymer Sig. Too many other good choices for the risk.

I was a SIG hater. Now, however, as the P365 Series wrinkles have been thoroughly ironed out, I find it to be the top micro-9 EDC. They’ve been flawless, and they shoot better than the 43X - which is a phenomenal firearm (albeit w/ meager OEM capacity). The 365 irons are the best standard sights in the industry IMO. The P320 is absolute trash; I would NEVER trust one. The rust issue on the 365s is very annoying, but it’s cosmetic, and some MPro 7 lube weekly isn’t an excessive burden to me. A German micro-9 decock-only (or LEM) hammer gun w/ paddle mag releases is what we desperately want. (Looking at you, HK and Walther.) All that aside, HK makes the finest defensive firearms in the world. Nobody else even comes close. I wish they’d offer a micro-9. (The soon-to-debut VP9CC will be nice, but it’s no hammer gun.) Hammers are important for safer holstering and drawing. Glock refuses to innovate. They rest on their laurels, and we’re sick and tired of waiting for them to meet our demand.

Glock refuses to change something that works. Glock users put reliability at number one. I'm not saying anything bad about HK, except I don't like the feel of them or the looks of them, but that's beside the point… I just have no reason to want one. My Glocks do everything I want them to do, and I have no interest in them changing anything that might impact their dependability. I don't even care about the sights, I have never had a pistol of any brand (except for one) that I didn't change the sights on. But I disagree with the argument that Glock owners are tired of waiting… I know a lot of us that aren't. I guess the question is, waiting for what? We like the triggers OK, it's a half cock safety system so yes, the triggers are heavy. The grip angle? A lot of us like it. They switched up to marksman barrels, they have come out with better triggers, and they are still keeping for 100% dependability. So what is it we are waiting for supposedly? Am I a fan boy? Yes, and I didn't start out that way, but over the years Glock has proven itself to me. And I have sold most of my S&W's, Springfields, and Sigs.

It's just INSANE to me that a company would have such bad problems with rust, but not fix it. Even many of the cheap firearms have finishes on them that last a lot longer than the P365 or Ruger LCP's. I know the Ruger LCP's are just bluing... but I've seen many firearms that are blued that last for years of concealed carry without every rusting (or even neglect). I also bought a bunch of Ruger MKIII parts (including a bolt assembly) and they ALL rusted in their sealed packages before I ever even got to open them. I cleaned off the rust from the bolt and then put it in a bag Soaked in oil... and then it STILL rusted IN the oil. It just costs pennies to finish these parts so they never rust and it would only increase production costs by such a small amount that nobody would ever notice or care if they had to pay the extra cost of the part being finished. (Like, I'm not gonna be angry if the part I order is $0.15 more, because it has a good, long lasting, durable finish on it... and I'm sure that most people wouldn't even mind if they had to pay an extra $1.00 per part... and it would never cost that much to finish any small parts... and even large parts don't cost much more. (Like Glocks only cost $40.00 make each... and they tenifer all their parts big and small with the newer, more expensive, more environmentally friendly gaseous tenifer process... and I'm sure the tenifer and the coating of the slide are only a fraction of the total cost of manufacturing... and I would bet that the main cost is employee wages).

I carry a p365X and S&W model 637. No rust and FCU issues. I fairly clean it regularly because I sweat. No, I don't shower it with oil. I have no problems with your choices despite hating on the gun's "shortcomings" despite easily fixable. The P365 is not for everyone, especially the haters.

I've been an RSO at the busiest location of a major chain of gun stores for three years. The only catastrophic pistol failure I've seen was a P365 9mm,. I was there and picked up the pieces remaining. The chamber split and destroyed the frame. There was no obstruction in the barrel. I can't verify the ammunition, but the round involved wasnot the first fired from the magazine. The customer purchased the gun used from another source and had been shooting it for a few weeks. Sig refused to warrantee the gun or even discuss the matter. Fortunately the injury to the shooter was minor.
