Why I don't call Donald Trump the Antichrist. 

There is no place for hate in Christ. I still don't understand why they think Democrats are not Christians. My church was big on civil rights and thats what brought me to the party.

MTG was recently again comparing trump to Christ. The irony is that if he were to ever actually start truly emulating Christ in his talk or actions, she and almost all his followers would leave him in a heartbeat. What they love about him is the hate he exudes in his talk and actions.

It's not whether you are Democrat or Republican. It's whether you have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.😊

We read in the lectionary on Sunday about how the people told Samuel they wanted a king, a strong man. God's reply was, essentially, you'll be sorry!

Godless left? That doesn't sit right with me. In my opinion Jesus was absolutely a woke liberal.

The chosen one? Taking arrows for you? Sounds like he thinks so and the Bible as well. The lawless one, exalts himself above all others. Throws truth to the ground. We will see soon. He fits.

It is so comforting to hear someone from the clergy making a case against Trump and MAGA in such a calm, kind and reasonable way. I cannot recognize the Jesus this movement claims to be defending. As a Catholic, I only see the opposite of everything Jesus stood for, and it’s breaking my heart. The idea of the anti-Christ has crossed my mind, but I honestly wasn’t sure I wanted to give him that much credit. Thank you for articulating the reasons for me. Your videos are helping me avoid a walk down an angry path.

What I have noticed is Pastors, Preachers etc, are afraid to call him antichrist not the antichrist. For fear of upsetting their flock, etc, We are told we would know them by their fruit, 1st John also tells us who does not have the spirit of God. When that one pastor went viral because he talked about Trump's Bible - i was happy yet sad at the same time that many pastors won't call things out. In proverbs 6, tells us i (7) things that are an abomination to God- yet we want a person whose fruit is the fruit of those abominations😢. I believe just like Abba Father showed us things during covid, I believe he is showing forth people's true self- when it comes to Trump. His followers have believed the lying spirit. See: 1 Kings 22: 22,23 We must repent 😢

Even if he is that guy, shouldn't we be looking to the Lord more and more and more and not giving that guy space in our brains? If he's "the" or "an", the Lord knows and all is in His hand - including each of His precious children.

I just wanted to say that I was listening to this (not watching) and I could hear and appreciate the pause for the air quotes around "godless left" so easily that I didn't even question it. It shocked me so much to see comments about it! I have been watching this channel for a while and know he would never believe or insinuate that the left is godless.

Still, it is chilling, the similaritiea in the description. He certainly demonstrates the possibility in the future, if nothing else. He is a type, as were others in history. However, history did not have the needed technology we have now. NOW we can see how it could all actually happen, including "Babylon," being destroyed in a day and the world mournss. John had no way to explain what he was seeing. These descriptions were all he knew. We just have to remember that these were words to comfort us when it all unfolds. This was not intended to be fortune telling. The scary part is only a small, though significant, part of the coming, awesome, wonderful future! Sunday's acoming!

As a retired pastor I appreciate your thoughts. Yes, we have had many authoritarians throughout world history who aren't the Antichrist. I've always found it amusing and at the same time sad, that pastors, teachers and others will make a timeline of end times events. Books such as Revelation use many symbols and imagery to get across certain messages, but shouldn't be taken literally.

When I was a teen some speaker was talking on the anti christ, and they said the meaning of it was 'instead of christ'. I was so sick of hearing that this was the anti christ, that was the anti Christ, oh no this is it guys! I just tune out anything that reguarding the anti christ. But this? This stuck with me. Anything can be the anti christ if it is your substitute for Christ.

Anti- Christ does not mean "against or in opposition" to Christ. Anti-Christ means the "antithesis of Christ". So yes, Trump is the very opposite of Christ and his teachings.

In all my years, I have never encountered "the antichrist" in Christianity, only in pop culture and cheesy fictional movies. Although I'd place Donald Trump with the latter as a genre, I don't let bad movies rule my life, so it's not an issue.

I was relieved to find your podcast site on RU-vid because it has been made clear to me I still need that pure form of Bible-based teachings to support my quest for eternal salvation. For years I struggled with the lack of God's condemnation of Trump and his followers and probably soon the takeover of Trump by other MAGA power players. And I agree Trump is not the "A-C" because satan is playing around with this incompetent fool and his cult (out of boredom or just because he can?). You and good Christians encourage me to wait upon the Lord for the outcome of this storm and not become depressed with the constant barrage of hateful lies and deceitful rhetoric of antiAmericans. I am a proud Democrat that completly believes in Jesus Christ and his teachings. My very large immediate and extended Democratic family is very religious. God, family and country is everything to us. So I don't understand why conservative Republicans feel they are more religious and more patriotic then their Democrat brothers and sisters. From what I've seen, liberals seem to have more compassion. Conservatisim has historically been the repeated platform by which facisim, racisim, division and hate is often launched from. Why is that? Perhaps conservatisim is built on the foundation of intollerance rather then compassion. Compliance rather then understanding. I'm not trying to be judgmental, just trying to figure out why. Ignorance seems to have a heavy hand in this as well. Attacking schools, removing books, division, ..... I can't understand it. And it shows in the politics it pushes. The horrible leaders now plauging conservative ranks. I pray Republicans come back home to being more understanding and compassionate to everyone. But it starts with the voters. These leaders are a reflection of the voters. Please Vote wisely. 💙

If you are going to share the Truth of the Gospel, you have to tell the whole Truth. Sometimes, the truth is not palatable, but it still is true.

I have to disagree with you when you say, "the Bible shouldn't be interpreted as teaching us to be looking for one certain person who's going to be revealed as THE Antichrist." Scripture very clearly warns us to be on the alert for the final Antichrist. We are given a detailed description of what he will be like. 45 fits every last one of those details--more so than any man in history. He is even known by a number: 45. And, probably because he refuses to accept his loss, he will retain that number if he again comes to power. I fully believe that the Bible can be interpreted on many levels and that each level reveals another Truth. But I also believe that Scripture is not meant to be understood only by the highly educated. Scripture is not a web of booby-traps meant to trick us into Hell if we misinterpret something. In John's vision, he stood looking towards a sea and saw the Antichrist rising out of the waters. That's how he saw it. Little did John know at the time that beyond that horizon lay a huge continent. The foretelling of the Antichrist is not intended to be an interesting side note, but rather, an urgent warning that we have no more time left to reach out to God. Do it NOW! By speaking of the Antichrist, we in no way diminish the important message of Jesus; we magnify it! So many false teachers have taught their interpretations of Scripture rather than the actual Words of Scripture. This is also true of the descriptions of the Antichrist. The Bible does NOT say he will be handsome, a great orator, a brilliant military strategist, a Muslim, gay, a genius.... (Although interesting that 45 called himself a stable genius). There have been many powerful leaders who were pure evil, but they still did not fit the description of the Antichrist. To begin with, I believe that Israel had to become a nation and that didn't happen until 5, 8, 1948, well after Hitler was dead (4, 30, 1945). I believe Hitler's death opened the door for the final Antichrist to appear on 6, 14, 1946. Hitler died 4, 30, 1945 45 was born 6, 14, 1946 Israel became a nation: 5, 14, 1948 I rather doubt that 45 will win the next election, but rather that he will be lifted to power by his supporters in Congress. Once that happens, he will immediately begin taking vengeance on his enemies, both real and perceived, just as he has promised to do. He will probably also do magnificent things for many people, which will make them adore him. In any case, even if 45 is NOT the final Antichrist, the final one is here and about to be catapulted to power. I think that person will be the agèd 45. Like Abraham who got his first calling from God at around age 80, 45 will get his calling from Satan around the same age. Matthew 24:33: "So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors." Let me add, that my comment in no way is meant to be critical of your faith, just your thought that we need not put too much thought into who is the Antichrist. Although, it's true that we will know, once and for all, when he calls himself God (something he has already come awfully close to doing).

As a European Catholic, I'm pleasantly surprised to hear an American pastor actually speak the truth about Donald Trump. It's appalling that pastors who consider themselves men of God could use religion to promote their political ideology. Donald Trump is not just a threat to America but also to the rest of the world, and it's worrying. My deepest respect for this pastor both for speaking the truth and for his Christian attitude. May God bless and protect him.

In every single interview when Trump is asked to describe his faith in God, he answers like this "Oh the Evangelicals love me! I get their votes!" then he rambles onto something else. But he NEVER answers that question because he either doesn't believe in God or thinks he is god.

If he isn't THE ac, he certainly LOOKS like it... at this particular point in time, when technology has such a vast hold on almost everyone, when recent political tensions are at an all-time high (and nearing an unprecedented breaking point), when cultural truth has never been so blurry, when the environment has become fire tinder as never before... the orange one has a bewildering hold and divisive effect on so many... while he appears to be tirelessly everywhere, every day, as if he has some kind of unworldly wind at his back... and somehow he slithers past existing measures of obvious scrutiny and accountability... yet simultaneously he tests and challenges and twists the definitions of the laws and norms that were designed to protect a free and civil society. His impact is felt globally. Dictators have come and gone, but there has been NO ONE like THIS polarizing character. Again, I'm not insisting that he IS the ac, but with each passing day, it's getting more and more difficult to say he isn't. Stay strong and anchored, my fellow followers of Christ.

He is playing on people's brokenness to gain sympathy and popularity for himself only. But his followers dont know that, they are feeling he knows how speak up for them for the things they have not been able to say for themselves. They aren't able to get past seeing he has been convicted of 34 felons because they are thinking only he has their interests in mind and so what's 34 crimes here and there! Are you kidding me?

If he's not, he's the doorway for the AC, setting the stage for him, I'm almost positive.....we're getting really close and it's coming time for the reveal... And there is no bunny trail to the AC, the bible tells us clearly what to watch for...it's really THAT simple.

This is Donald Trump's relationship to Christianity. King James Bible 2 Peter 2:3 "And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not." It is idolotry that's leading to the belief In Trump - the Golden Calf - for the wealthy it's the money; for the" Christians" it's getting what they want - judges, no restrictions on guns, restrictions on others concerning matters of partnership, health and wealth prosperity gospel, etc. The price of such idolotry is first the loss of all discernment and descrimination, and then hating all who don't want the same things. Trump has been made by God, but he has chosen to be sent by other powers, who have other goals than freedom and God's Kingdom of the heart. Trump is the most apparent representative of an antichrist that we have at the moment. The one who would come to us INSTEAD of Christ seeming to promise prosperity, health and power, but bringing instead servitude to Mammon, to power and to false self. The one who has sold his soul ("I am the chosen One", DJT) bringing our souls to be stolen, to our having no hearts anymore, but the hate instead of heart. Trump is salt that has lost its savor (Matthew 5:13) and he would have us worship him as the most important event in history. He says as much as that. He is the man without a wedding garment (Matthew 22:7-11), who is there to make merchandise of us.

I have a question. It appears like you are saying that many antichrists or antichrist like figures have come, and maybe even every generation faces it. Is there a final one that is a lot worse? Sort of a final boss battle (using a video gaming term here where the biggest baddy come at the end)? Or is is just generational and possibly locational? Each one will have its own figure of evil, and that is the beast of that generation that needs to be persevered though?

If a literal Antichrist position isn’t one that you hold to just say that and leave it to people who are concerned about and passionate about eschatology. Respectfully.

I DEFINITELY DON’T identify as a conservative. In fact, Canadians are a lot more progressive than Americans, and Québec is even more progressive than the rest of the country. Even as Christians, I don’t think it would occur to anyone in my church to host a group that would include Trump. We don’t mix politics with religion here. And I would ask, what degree of spiritual maturity do people have who hop on board Trump’s train? I was never remotely tempted to do so, even though we’re in a different country, although there are some people in Québec who believe conspiracy theories, but I’ve never seen MAGA here. Then again, it’s Canada right?

MTG claimed Trump was like Christ because both were convicted. Trump of course shares very little in common with Christ. But, Trump is much more like Barabbas... When Pilate asked the religious crowd which of the prisoners he should free, the rightfully convicted Barabbas, or the unrighteously convicted Jesus, the religious crowd wanted Barabbas. Mark 15:7:"And among the rebels in prison, who had committed murder in the insurrection, there was a man called Barabbas." Mark 15:11: "But the chief priests stirred up the crowd to have him release for them Barabbas instead." MTG got her convicted felons mixed up. Just like the religious crowd of Jesus' time, false religious people both then and now chose power, not peace.

Respectfully, we are not all "broken." Some of us (perhaps many of us) maintain an intrinsic sense of right and wrong throughout our lives by following our own internal moral compass. NO doctrine is needed to practice a life of decency, compassion, and empathy. IMHO; Indoctrination unhelpfully teaches people they are inherently "broken." I view that sort of "teaching" as problematic. Breaking down a human's self-esteem is not likely to lift anyone up. History records the lack of success of the masses who follow such doctrine. JMHO.

So he would like to be called this strictly for the mileage in the evangelical magas...doesn't seem like much of an ROI. Also, what's with the YT algorithm? The whole "end times" theology mindset makes me tired. Those who try their best to figure out when The End will come should remember the passage that says something like no man will know when it will come and a couple that say that Christ will come like a thief in the night. Paul expected Christ to return in his lifetime, or maybe shortly thereafter, and ever since, people have been saying "Soon!". I think it makes people a bit crazy to stay on edge like that.
