Why I DON'T Want Simple Living Anymore 

Haters will 100% hate 😅! Remember to be kind! These comments fully sparked this idea of redefining what simple living means for myself! I’d love to know, *what does simple living mean for YOUR lifestyle* 🥰?! THANK YOU for allowing me to do a different type of video this week. Part of simple living is not getting burnt out by the rat race of life and posting this video allowed me to express my creativity in a different way than usual and I just loved it. Writing was one of my passions in my teens and this felt like a writers craft piece to me that I got to film :). Next week I'll be back to the home build

Time to change the channel name to "Biata Gets it Done!". Just one of the reasons I watch a lot of home building channels and only joined yours.

I’m diagnosed with ME/CFS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) otherwise described as Broken Battery Syndrome. My condition is moderate. Meaning I spend less than 4 hours a day with my feet on the ground. My definition of simple living is energy conservation. Most of my energy goes towards making something to eat. I now experience life through RU-vidrs. Thanks for sharing your journey. It aligns so much with what I would want to do again if I could.

Love it! Living in a half built cabin in the woods, slowly making progress, and having our boys grow up here is simple living for us. And, in a few years Im sure it will all look different again!

I worked from the age of 6 helping on farms and from 14 to 68 full time , night shifts included 12 plus hrs shifts, some times 40 to 50 days straight, 13 years service in the Air Force. What I forgot to do was to LIVE ? and what I earned was a Heart attack in my late fifties, so now at the age of 70 and with failing health, I'm un employed, single, Pensioned and a prisoner in my own home and garden and in Awe of all the You tubers like yourself whom I follow to see through your Eyes "What I dreamed of when I was younger" but never achieved. Thank you for your excellent video's.

My vocation allows my simple, enjoying nature, producing agricultural products, feeling worth by completing a task that makes a difference. I’ve enjoyed watching your progress, your confidence growing, keep asking questions, and thank you for sharing your journey with us. My wife and I spent five years planning, designing, and building our retirement home, in the end it was the journey and sweat equity that was most rewarding. ET

You preach to em girl. Have lived a "simple" for 50 plus years. Took a lot of grief over it, but my family has grown strong from it. Not only physically but mentally. And the only " social media " I have is Ytube a couple hrs a week. Have been watching since you started and would just like to say Thanks.

Great video Biata and well said. People shouldn't bash your videos and content without looking in the mirror first so just don't worry about them. I feel your struggles of exhaustion when it comes to building things. I needed to replace some decking on an old deck this weekend, and ended up changing up the direction of the joists and decking from the original. I'm a little over 40 now and these types of hard work days seem to be taking their toll on me a bit or at least for a few days i feel it. I truly know how you feel by doing things yourself. Your work and content are great and I urge you to keep with it, keep learning, keep teaching other people, and keep pressing on while also not burning yourself out. Content doesn't always need to be you working on things, and this world is full of people who can attest to the hard work it is in building your own home. Again great video. Cheers!!!!

I don't care if you live in a cabin in the woods, a yurt, an apartment in NY, or a small home in Nova Scotia; life is never simple; it always has many levels of complexity for everyone.

Well said Biata, you are so right. Ive tried it all….lots of possessions with no time to use them. Simple builds with reclaimed lumber are always the most fulfilling but always seem to end up being the most expensive. Does it matter? Not at all as long as your goal was dreamed and achieved. To live simple is most likely achieved when personal growth and family are in sync. Almost 71 years young and I still change course on a whim but do it without regret.😊

I totally agree with you. Simple living is whatever lifestyle brings you joy and peace without interfering with the joy and peace of those around you. That could mean streamlining your expenses so you can live without worry over bills or increasing your income to accomplish the same thing. I'm certain the early settlers did not consider their self-sufficient lifestyle "simple". It was backbreaking hard work. City living can be just as "simple" as rural homesteading. I admire your choices, determination, and self-awareness.

Biata, I have been watching your channel from almost the beginning and I am blown away by this weeks' video. This video touched a nerve with me as I am a former public school teacher who would work hard to help my students and still get occasional criticism from students and parents. You showed a lot of class in your response to the "trolls" and their negative comments and then responded with depth and intelligence on "Simple Living". Good for you!

Hi Biata! I 100% agree with you. Simple living is different for everyone. I was having a similar conversation with a friend this week. He is a city boy who doesn't understand the appeal of being able to pick fruit straight from a tree or collect fresh eggs each day when in his words it's easier just to go to a supermarket. I'm trying to build my own fruit shop in my garden, I've 25 fruit trees now and at the end of the year I hope to be able to get at least 10 more. Anyway, I think this video was very informative and shows what different people think and can bring up conversations about simple living and consumerism. There are people out there that for some reason just have to be negative. You live your life, you seem to be a wonderful person and I thank you for sharing this part of your life with the world. I love watching your videos and it is nice to see you even show your mistakes it show that you are real. No one is perfect. Keep up the good works and don't let them haters get you down.
