Lets create some awesome amp feedback with a custom sound effect made by gluing an exciter speaker to my electric guitar. It really sounds great by adding some additional synthesizer components to filter the amplifier feedback noise.
This is not a sponsered video, I bought the exciter speakers with my own money from this website:
www.soundimpor...
Where US customers can get them:
www.parts-expr...
Check out this demo what one of these exciter speakers can do (Kiet's channel):

Best youtube line EVER at 6:12 . . . yes indeed, we are all excited ! Any specs on the parts would be helpful, especially the wattage and also the nature/parts of the phase switch. THANKS for the great and inspirational video and design. Rock on !

why did you buy these exciters in the first place?

Love that sound! Reminds me of this Half-Life 2 soundtrack: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CeayXEmvMJs.html

I just had the idea of putting an audio exciter on an electric and was looking for if anyone else had already done it! Does it feel more like playing an acoustic, in the sense that the body vibrates more?

I use a pod unit and surface speakers. Guitar in headphone jack out. Much easier.

I still use my Pod XT, do what now? More details. Right now I have one exciter speaker I ordered.

I'd LOVE to know how you achieved the coloured fretboards...
@jasperoosthoek
@jasperoosthoek 2 года назад
They are printed paper stickers covered with thermal laminating pouches from a local print shop. The fretboard pattern was designed in powerpoint 😅. Just cut them up and apply the glued side to the fretboard. It works extremely well for acoustic guitars but as soon as you start bending strings the paper will peel off in time. So for my electric guitar I need a different solution.

@@jasperoosthoek hey..can show details of the fretboard?..i cant see the actual guitar in video...which exiters do you have?..do a video on the suitcase..also what basic skills do need to put together the 2 speakers to connect to what modules..im sure i dont need the entire case..i would like to build from scratch if possible..thanks

Tone wood deniers should see this. According to them, vibration stops at the bridge.

As a tone wood denier: w/o an audio exciter like this, vibration stopping at the bridge would be ideal, at least in terms of sustain. Any vibration that’s happening in the wood is sucking away energy from the string, and is a bad thing for sustain. Sure different woods have different mechanical properties. But other materials like metal and ceramic are significantly different. If the mechanical properties of a guitar body material really create an audible difference, experiments with different classes of materials would surely demonstrate an exaggerated tonal difference. There’s plenty of videos out there with guitars made of unique materials.

@@JeremySteamsack If you're a denier, then wood couldn't effect sustain. If your saying wood effects sustain, then you can't be a denier. You can't have it both ways.

You don 't need "tonewood" for this, it would work with mdf, ply, pine, any material light enough to be shaken by a speaker.😊

@@qua7771 I think you're confusing my stance. I'm not saying that the material of a solid body guitar has absolutely no effect on the sound of a guitar. It will. What I am saying is that comparisons from one type of wood to another will not yield any audible change in the pickup signal. The tonewood concept, as i understand it, claims wood adds something good to that signal, and that some woods add more of that thing than others. If we can agree to evaluate this thing assuming there's no loud amp nearby, then the ideal scenario for sustain would be strings magically suspended+tensioned in a vaccum w/o touching anything. This scenario would demonstrate a pickup signal with an audible difference, which is why I agree that wood, in a general sense, does have an effect. I'd also argue that it's a negative one. If we'd allow a loudspeaker in the same room then my opinion would change; it'd feed energy back into the into the strings at a varying capacity, but that is not the tonewood concept. Wood is just a practical material: strong enough for the task, relatively cheap, easy to manufacture/maintain, and visually appealing. Nothing special about it other than that.
