I go through why I bought a Hormann Rollmatic roller door for my garage and detail the top features & options. ** Please note, the 10% off offer has now expired **
I got a few crap products also over the years. Someone one told me buy cheap and buy twice.. Does not always hold true when making some purchases. I will never purchase another horman product . Simple.
I’ve recently had two of these fitted (in the same anthracite colour!) to replace my old up-and-over garage doors, and I’m delighted. The Hörmann control panels I was supplied with have the more modern, led lighting which Illuminates on opening.
I guess it would be rude to ask if there was ever a need to try to get tech detail after purchase Hormann do not seem to provide any backup to purchases of domestic doors other than lists of companies that may or may not be currently trading and may or may not provide a service worthy of investing time , energy or effort in a sub standard product they may provide
I've had a similar one for 9 years,.no problems so far. Worth having it serviced every couple of years, they realign the door and lubricate the motor gears. Keeps our garage well above zero in winter.
Remember to keep it clean also. If it gets covered in lots of grit from rain, it seems to scratch the door when it rolls up. I use a quick detailing spray.
One day i will build that garage the door is amazing the whole garage is from my dream i wouldn't change a thing good for you and thanks for inspiring us
Hi, I have just came across your videos. Looking at rebuilding my garage later this year, can I ask what size your roller door is? I really like the size of it. I am planning on using Hormann also. Thanks in advance.
It's the nicest looking garage door I've seen it's crazy how yours is like the only video going over it the rest of the videos I found about this are just promotional videos from the company. I'm going to try and order one of these to California
You may want to invest in the app for door control if it tells you whether the door is open or closed. Peace of mind when you leave home and you get that nagging feeling that you left the door open, or if you need to open the door for someone else and you are out and about. Congratulations on the awesome garage.
Love the garage! One quick question - did you insulate the roof? I saw when they put the wooden panels on the roof they left the cavities empty unless it was done off-camera? Thanks!
Great to see everything is coming together now, can't wait for the first wrenching Video now! Have a Hörmann Door in my garage here, too, but a different one. Quality to price ratio is great in my opinion. Keep going and greetings from Bavaria
Sad. so sad. I guess some by now may be thinking it is time to "come out" They may have been into alligators prior, butt that whole hormone door thing is the new Jesus? Get real please.
Quick question, I have the same door which I fitted in the summer. How've you found it in the winter? Mine seems to allow a cold draft up into the door's housing box and back down and out on the inside of the door. Makes the garage a little bit colder than I expected. Do you have the same issues?
Love this door! Would you happen to know the model number for the actual door? Did an online search and nothings coming up for Hormann Rollmatic roll up door. I'm in the states by the way. Maybe it's a different name here?
If you don’t mind, I’d love to know the size and cost of your door. I’m currently looking to install one in my new house build which looks quite similar in size
You need heating in there. Install a wall mounted heat pump. Very efficient. I’ve done several similar garages. Something like a 5kW unit would likely be fine judging by the dimensions
Unfortunately only available in Euro/England zone .... According to my extensive search done 1 1/2 years ago NO U.S. distributors or manufacturers for this kind of quality roll up door. I found one company in Canada that makes a similar unit out of BC Canada. In the U.S. there is one or two companies one in Texas and the other in CA. The one in Texas offers similar vinyl roller door but on a scale 1-10 compared to Hormann's being a 10 they are around a 4 or 5 lacking in design/material quality and engineering and when grilled by me on details and design they never got back to me. The one made in California now was not on my radar until recently so I will have to look into their product. The one built in Canada is very similar to Hormann quality/engineering but to ship it to U.S. it costs as much as the entire unit .... so double the cost. As a licensed designer / building contractor for over 35 years I contacted various west coast county building departments and they have no regulations against the install of these type units vinyl or otherwise. But ask a U.S. garage door install company and they will only sell and install sectional overhead archaic doors and don't even want to hear about these roll ups. Now to be fair, they tell me city municipalities don't allow residential rollups and the rollups they can obtain are for industrial use pull chain and or motor operated. That may be true in some municipalities as I have not done an exhaustive research regarding that as I did with county building departments. You would think Hormann would market these doors on the west coast. The Hormann mfg on the east coast of U.S. only does sectionals. I have had multiple inquiries over the last couple years for this type/quality of door but not access to a U.S. or west coast distributor.
@@RoadandRacetv Thank you for replying 😊 I see this a disadvantage, other models, such as canopy door (from Hormann) or even sectional doors from other manufacturer has manual opening as a failsafe. I hope Hormann fit all their doors with such mechanisms.
My roller door has multiple laser beams criss-crossing the entire length of the door space - much safer as doesn't have to crush something before it stops and not impacted by rain nor leaves lol
How much would a single bay door cost? Are we talking hundreds or thousands of US dollars? Can't seem to find prices anywhere which is never a good sign.
I think multiple lasers seems like a safer system. I don't want the door to come down on my 2yr old's head before stopping. I want her to break a laser and stop the door straight away. Have you ever had a lift door pin you before finally realising and opening. Not a nice experience for a child.
Try to contact hormone direct prior to a purchase on a tech issue and you may find you are told to contact a company that gave grief in the first place. I would go for crocodile doors in future not because I know the company or quality, but because the system at Norman seems too much like hard work once one has purchased a product. Horseman should be confident enough in a product that they stand by it to the hilt and not hide behind a facade of deception
That's a good question I've been looking around and it seems like a couple other manufacturers make a very similar looking door but just visually and feature-wise this one seems to be slightly higher quality they do things like paint all the components the same color whereas some of the other ones the box remains gray. And they have good showcase videos on RU-vid that being said you'd probably be fine with any of them without experiencing the other you wouldn't know any better
@@Reedith I'd eventually went with a local service and got mine fitted for £1100. You can have better slats that can retain heat but my garage is on the side of my home and not built into the home. Pretty pleased with mine so far..
