Hello Dear I have been having war of thoughts in my mind whether to buy Pix 8 or not. We have been made aware of its con like heating, signal issues, slow battery charging etc earlier also in videos. Tdy morning i saw your video. My compliments for a threadbare video. Love and hate issues are nicely explained. Why and why not Pix should be used is now completely understood. Is Pix 8 Pro somewhat better? Thanks and Regards. Appreciated your hard work. Will be placing an order.
The heating problem is not because of tensor. Pixel 4a has snapdragon and it also heats up very quickly. It is a problem with Google's optimisation and google must fix this.
@Gauraang , you earned a subscriber! I have a budget of 35k, I am sneaking at BDD 24 to buy a phone. However, I superbly perplexed among the drooling offers and different YTBRS reviews for the pixel 8, s23 Fe, and s23. Lot of negativities are hovering on the surface in case of Pink Line on screen, heating issues, Network problem, etc. Since the price has been slashed half of it launched price(Not sure if this price drop is because of Made in India). It sounds dreadful if pixel 8 is going to be a recipient of the above issues. Please help with your suggestion.
I would say if you want a simple phone with absolutely no issues, get the S23. The best possible phone that I can freely recommend. If you like what Google does better, (camera, software and battery), then go for Pixel 8, given that you are not a Jio user. Thanks for the appreciation! Hope this helps.
I won't say there is a red tint. Inaccuracy of skin tones can show up during the situations where the light is weird. Network issues are mostly limited to jio.
My usage is watching youtube and movies... some video calls...Whats app, calls and no gaming...could I purchase pixel 8 according to my usage? By the way great video Gaurang❤❤❤
If you're going to be fine with the heat up now and then while it is being used over WiFi, you'll be fine. In the end I mentioned exactly who should buy the phone and who shouldn't.
Would you get this now on the upcoming sale for under 35k? I'm thinking to get this over the Moto edge 50 neo, if you don't think me spending over 10k is worth on the pixel I'll stick to the neo. But if you think the overall experience will be flagship on the 8 then I'll get the 8. PS: I have the budget for either
Please get the Pixel instead of Moto. Under 35k is a great price for Pixel. I would even say if you're a Jio user, port to Airtel, but buy this phone instead of moto.
@@GauraangAroraI am a jio user 😂 Thank you for the advice, I hope the battery life lasts atleast 6 hrs with medium usage like camera, insta and RU-vid and music
Every phone heats up and whats makes us not notice the heat in other phones is the cooling vapour chamber. Pixel 8 and older pixels dont have vapour cooling chamber if only google could could bring this it would make the phone felt much less heated. Bisides is feel tensor G3 conpared to older tensor is doing a pretty good job.
Yes, a lack of vapour chamber cooling is a flaw. A phone heating up in normal non-intense usage while any other phone price range doesn't, is sadly a flaw. Tensor G3 may be better than the tensor G2, but it is nowhere near Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 (which is almost a two year old processor at this point), let alone 8 Gen2 or 8 Gen3. I really want to like the pixel, but such flaws can bother people who want a reliable phone.
@@GauraangArora would you recommend trading pixel 8 for samsung s23. Would it be a good trade off. I love stock around but too tempted to get s23 as it has snapdragon 8 gen2.
@@irfanazeez19 if the heat is bothering you too much then yes. No AI and the camera will be a downgrade, but everything else will be an upgrade. But, why don't you try to trade in for the S24?
My preference for photos will still be Pixel. But the only reason I would recommend the S24 is because of a dedicated telephoto, better videos and overall a much better balance between camera and performance.
You can replace the battery. That's what the right to repair movement is all about. Google is supporting selling official parts like speaker, screen, battery , mother board, literally everything at good value. A battery replacement costs 200 dollars if it's an iPhone but it costs only 50 dollars in America.
Hi,I have confusion between Oneplus 11R which I may get in the price range of 26K in the Flipkart sale 2024, where Pixel 8 is coming in 32k in the Flipkart sale. I have Gst number as well So technically I am getting 11R at 22K and Pixel 8 at 27.2K, then on that basis what would you suggest. My main concern is Network connectivity and battery draining issue in Pixel 8. Which one you recommend? Please help me out on this. Thanks in Advance.
If you have an Airtel sim, I don't think you'll have any network issues. As for battery, it has been stellar for me throughout my use. I would recommend Pixel 8.
@@sharma.shantnu If you see your bill it includes GST element as well in the Cell phone price. So if you can arrange any GST number from your closed ones showing that they will use this phone in business. Ex- In Pixel 8 total cost 32K but 32K included around 4.8K GST element, so now using your gst number this GST amount of 4.8K they can use this in their business for paying their liability of GST. In simple word it will become prepaid amount which they can use for paying GST on their sale amount of their business.
Pixel 8 is actual ahead by far. Brighter display, better battery life (i used the 7 Pro before I used the 7), AI features, much longer software support (just 2 more updates after android 14 on the 7 pro) better thermals and performance, and better videos and photos. The only thing missing is the telephoto, and a bigger display. Everything else is much on the pixel 8. If the pixel is all you want, you'll be much better of with the Pixel 8 than the 7 pro.
Every time someone says the Pixel 6,7 and 8 won't age well because of tensor I can't help but laugh at how disingenuous they're being with their talking points to obviously have SOMETHING to bring Google down with when comparing them to competitors. Literally have a Pixel 5 with a 765g that still performs perfectly fine. Y'all are just itching to be overly dramatic about anything for views and clicks. Not to mention that my Pixel 7 pro has been getting better and better with every update...all while my wife's 14 pro feels like crap
OnePlus 12/12R, S24/S24+/Ultra, iPhone 15/15 Plus/15 Pro/ Pro Max, do not have these issues. None of the them are advertised as gaming phones, they are advertised as phones that are supposed to be great at everything, similar to what Pixels are advertised as. None of them are enthusiast phones like the Pixels.
@@GauraangArorapixels are the exception imo they're smart smartphones tht can play games but don't use chips tht care to put much effort into maxed out settings ect ,, they put there effort into assisting u
@@jamiesplinter8758 I completely understand that, I have highlighted that as well. But the gains from the software prowess is not worth more than the sacrifices you have to make for it. If you personally prioritise that, then sure, pixel 8 is for you. But to the general average people, they need to know what the sacrifice is, so that they can make the decision if they want to go for the pixel 8 or not. And that is exactly what I said in the end.
I think it's more about TSMC cooperating with them. From what I can guess, they don't get a good price since they can't give the volumes that TSMC wants. Maybe this will change with the ever increasing sales of pixels.
Hate, I hate all pixel mobiles, Worst build quality. Even one foot drops make your mobile display damage. Then the real problems start. Definitely you will regret after your Mobile damage. In the entire India there is no single authorised service centre. I suffered and regret very much after buying pixel-7
Bro you should really leave Techbar and focus more on your own content. I know money's gotta be an issue which is why you left this channel on a backburner but trust me the sooner you realize to build your own audience, the better. Your story telling, composition and cinematography skills are on par and beyond other Indian tech channels which I why I followed you in the first place. Rooting for you to grow more.
Thank you for all the appreciation man. I don't want to leave TechBar because some incredible work happens there, and I learn so much with Sanchit. But yes I'll find a balance between my content and the work I do there so that I can post here more regularly. Thank you so much for every kind word man, it means everything!
Heating will subside with updates but not completely. Most flagship users aren't into gaming anyways. Honestly speaking, even SD865 is more than enough for most users even today and I don't trust these synthetic benchmarks either. In my P8pro testing, it goes 1.3M max but I never felt I need more performance unless I'm running Genshin Impact for hrs. Iphone 15 is too basic and S24 shares the same fate of P8 with Exynos 2400. I think, P8 and S24 would be a great buy in sales. Cheers 🥂
@@Conannnnn It's normal in day to day task. It gets warm if you're into heavy gaming. It never overheats. And it's not a gamer's device. Hope that helps.
Bro u have earned my respect. This is absolutely fantastic review! I have been using the Pixel 8 for almost a month and those are my general ideas on it too. You've got urself a subscriber!
@@veer_trivedi more than suitable. Indian skin tones look good and realistic. I just expected the sharpness to be better. Apart from that, it's decent.
I agree about the performance and future proofness. However, after using a Pixel 3a with its mid range CPU for FIVE YEARS, I can say that there's no way a chip like the Tensor G3 wouldn't be able to survive those years as well.
How are you getting 6-7 hours of screen time? 😭 I am getting 4-5 hours only and I use Instagram mostly (1-2 hours) and the mobile is always on data (5g) and i use the hotspot as well almost all the time, AOD is always on and 120hz display is also on. How is it that i am not able to get 6-7 hours of screen on time 😭🙏🏻
5 years ago, I'm still using OnePlus which is always cheaper, smoother, faster over any other phones. I never used Google Pixel phones. I compared my OnePlus 8T+ vs Google Pixel 5. I also have 1+7T pro Mclaren Edition which is still pixel 8 pro killer.
The Google Pixel is the only phone which I managed to buy a defective device. Even after two repairs, it was just as bad as before. To me, the Pixel is the phone that tries to pretend it has the same quality as the iPhone.
Beautiful video man the cinematography is perfect and on point. You 100% earned a sub.The video is composed beautifully and I feel like you haven't wasted even a second of my time Good luck for the future man, hope your channel picks up fast
Great efforts and this is called crystal clear review touching each point! 👏 I Play Brawlstars (supercell) 1hr, Yt classes 4-5 hrs, Downloaded!! Movies or series (occassionally), No Reels (strictly😤). And, p8 heats or get warm!? Using Realme 6 (Sanchit's recommendation; since april 2020). Shall i upgrade to p8 or galaxy s23? Tf this long comment! 😅
I'm so glad you're not a Pixel shill who only focus on good Pixel 8 qualities. Having a phone with just a good camera is like having a car with great tires but engine is crap.
It's the job at the end of day man. I can like the pixel all I want, but the job is to think from most people's perspective and then see if it can be honestly recommended to people or not. Thanks for the appreciation man. As for the car analogy, it's like a car that is great with everything except the engine, not just great tires.
Using pixel 8 ! Great device ! Camera is outstanding and pan cinematic video option is seriously awesome with little filter and edit to it! Main reason to purchase : camera and software thats all display is great too
@@VIKRAMV20 bro, i do want to buying the pixel 8 mainly only for its camera ans software and i am also a occational gamer. So as per your usage experience woud you suggets me based on my above mentioned needs?
Great phone but as soneone who is coming from the pixel 4 there is very little reason to upgrade besides security updates. 5,6 amd 7 were minimal upgrades or even downgrades.8 will be good if it drops in price further. I would expect better video capabilities for a 9+.
Not with all the AI upgrades along with the camera hardware changes, and especially the display, if you use it after the Pixel 8, it will feel like a completely different phone. But yes, a further drop in price would help.
Can u please say what should I pick pixel 8 256 or s23 256. I don't game. Just do some basic task and wants a 1 day battery phone. And I would use it for 3-5 years. If I can save 6-7k I won't mind, but if pixel is too bad for my use then won't mind to use that money
Same thoughts. Have already placed an order but still confused 😅. Decision making feature for me was director view on s23 and snapdragon. Will miss pixel 8 😐 Have you make a mind or still watching s23 vs p8, RU-vid won't allow to buy p8 over s23, especially indian youtubers.
@@muskankalani8336 I was confused too , bought pixel 8 , it's an incredible device , im pasting my flipkart review " This is my review about Pixel 8 Display= It's good and bright enough, but not super bright as S23 in netflix hdr , it renders natural colors and gets the job done Cameras = They are good but not everyone likes the color science which is pretty similar to what u see from eyes , For shooting scene scenarios it's excellent but in human skin tone Choices could be subjective, it's like parallel universe to oppo vivo processing. Network= I'm using Jio and I'm shocked to see there are no network issues , RU-vidrs are crazily criticizing it but trust me it has better network strength then my previous redmi note 12 pro 5g. Battery & Charging= It's average but as per pixel optimization it improves after 3-4 days of usage , It's ML calibrates the battery as per your usage. I'm using Boat 65w Pd charger which charged this from 10% to 80% in 40 minutes Which is pretty fast and u can use any Pd charger from a reputed brand Performance= It's a pixel, purest form of Android, it's not for you when u play BGMI/ genshin for longer durations, but day to day performance makes u feel that u are using a proper flagship device, no lags no jitters no nothing Haptics= Trust me they are the best haptics u can get in any phone, implementation in ui is undoubtedly the best. Build & Design= It feels small and super premium in hands, Better in hand feel than S23 . Speakers = Adequately loud and good too but they aren't bassy like iPhone ones but it's pretty good u won't complain. Some people were complaining about fingerprint sensor but I haven't faced any issues even with tempered glass. And During first setup phone will get warm but relax it doesn't heat in day to day usage , Don't panic when it gets warm during setup. "
One feedbak for your new channel Gaurang Try to make the videos a little bit more vibrant (like brighter colours bright background) Rest I feel like your content is really great keep it up 🙌❤️
Oh my god. You have eagle eyes man, thanks for pointing out the error. Part of the comparison I did, and saved the pictures in the same folder like an idiot.
Hi, very insightful video which is much appreciated, just because there is a huge a price cut , the device does not become great , you have bluntly told this and kudos to you for this !
I actually said it's not worth the initial asking price. But after the price cut, it is actually worth buying. Only if the user can stand the weaknesses it has.
Don't think so. It'll be just as worse as pixel 8 was at launch. 40k is an important segment in the country. 35k or lower would be a much better price.
@@mrconqueror4838 I have described the conditions where it does heat up. If you do not intend on heavy use, it would be a good phone, just try to get the best deal possible, it is not worth the high price it is selling for right now.
if instead of that crappy ultrawide camera, there would have been a camera with optical zoom, it would have been excellent, and this also applies to the simple iPhone , and if google would return to snapdragon processors or at least mediatec pixel it would be the best phone
If you want the phone that ages better, and comes with better performance, S23. But if you're going to change your Phone in 2-3 years, want the better experience with camera, battery life and software, Pixel 8 could be your phone.
Does it over heat while using Lightroom for pics editing and watching Netflix, like for a full movie or a binge watch? Also how is the network performance..Please reply
The truth is, This phone ain't good enough for $700. Minimal updates that don't matter & an unnecessary design change that brought up the price... Screen quality = way better Everything Else = Pretty much no upgrade
Google pixels are the ones I am rooting for but it's disappointing and unfortunate that it's 3rd year with Samsung's exynos, and they haven't fix heating issue at all, mid performance can be acceptable, but doing daily tasks and you get battery drain and heat, especially if you leave in hot areas, that's unacceptable for 800$phone. No hopes for tesnor, exynos anymore, hope Google will manages it by 2025
i used pixel for gaming and i gotta say in codm, when i games for about 1hr30m it didn't heat up even above 35°. i play on low graphics and 60fps because honestly nobody but tryhard gamers need all that. the performance was also very good im not much of a gamer too but i have to say, if you take gaming seriously then pixel might not be for you. it's those phones that gets the job done and very good. just not the best.
google take risk of performance they can use snapdragon for performance like they were doing in previous pixels but they take this chipset tensor step because they know the bright future of tensor. whenever new things are made it take times to stablize same thing is going with tensor and as you know the upcoming tensor g5 google have long vision they know that this heatings throttle will happened two to three generatiion but after that ... something big happened
OK...Which is best now Google pixel 8 or samsung s23 fe. I don't play any games and mainly I need better camera and decent performance and battery for daily usage(simple tasks). And mainly for long time use like 4 to 5 years.which one should I prefer..PLEASE REPLY
Pixel 8 is better, easily. It'll last you atleast 3-4 years. Just don't get it if you're a Jio user, network reception isn't good with it. Rest you'll be fine with.
Being a pixel 8 user, VIDEO QUALITY SUCKS! It has all the tech on paper but in irl there's so much grain on a normal video. It struggles with low light I've tried every technique and the phone just doesn't want to take good videos. Shame PixelBoost isn't officially offered to Pixel 8.
Loved your review . Big billion days are coming up . what should i go for S23 fe or pixel 8 I need a better camera and fluid performance , occasional gamer pls suggest
Very nice job and I really like my Pixel 8 , but if you use it on mobile data all day the battery life isn't very good . I do wonder how this phone will handle it when summer shows it face and the temp goes up.
So how it beared the heat of summer... Right now its 32k in sale... Is it worth buying or i go for s23.... Does this phone overheats while making prolonged videos?
@@Atul0420 I ended up selling The Pixel 8 as I think the modem was not very good and so if you work in it office no problem probably if you're on Wi-Fi all day but for my job I'm out and around all day so it just didn't work for me so I ended up getting an s24 which as a much better modem and so no heating problems or connecting problems.

@@Atul0420 I wouldn't recommend the Pixel 8 for somebody that's on mobile data all day as it does tend to run warm doing daily tasks or especially if you're watching videos and if you play games you can for sure it's going to get warm . Hey bro please reply I am getting pixel 8 for 40k from u.s and i don't care about warranty as i am frequently visiting u.s so i don't have a problem should i go for it?
Skip the s23 fe. Get the pixel 8. Just be careful that you don't get international warranty on the pixel. But yes, 40k for the Pixel 8 is an amazing deal.
Slightly better, but not much. The good thing is for the same heat you get a much brighter display, smoother too, along with improvements in performance and big improvements in battery life. So if that is something that might make it better, you can consider it.
