I am a swimming Pool & Spa Technician and I made this film while I was tired and grumpy and trying to resolve yet another Auto dosing system that had gone totally haywire on this job.
I love Robotic Pool cleaners, and I have found great quality ones that I recommend, I love salt water chlorination systems and again I have found one that is wonderful and Quality, but watch here to see what I think of Auto dosing systems once they are a couple of years old.
If you need to replace your Salt Chlorinator or pool or Spa motor or any other equipment then please contact me, I specialise in getting the correct matching gear for you and shipping all over Australia & NZ.

Mark, you are 100% spot on! I have a puresilk hayward system that we got with our new pool. About 7 years old now but i would never get this again! Had nothing but trouble. Anyway it is now not working at all & im doing the research & looking to replace. Are you in the melb area?

Yes I am in Melbourne. This is the Chlorinator that I sell and recommend. It is very good and reliable. The Best Saltwater Chlorinator in Australia by far. K Chlor Digital. Totally with you on the problems. There doesn't seem to be many sites on the Net that review these products. Is it worth paying more for some brands rather than another? I don't know. After going through two salt water electrolysers and a two ph probes in a few years I am now manually dosing my pool - and abandoned solar water chlorination entirely. Problem is I don't know what to do when I go away, as human labour costs for pool maintenance are so high.

Hi there. Yes there are some bad brands out there and to be honest the more expensive ones are not necessarily better, just maybe have a bigger marketing budget. I am a Swimming Pool and Spa service tech so I get called when Chlorinators break. Have a look at this link. I have found an Australian made Chlorinator that is well made and standing the test of time. I have sold heaps of them in the last 5yrs and I am yet to even sell a replacement cell. Check them out here: poolnspa.net/chlorinator/

Mine is astral e25 very basic one. Been 7 years working perfect. The pool shop owner told me this kind of automation has too much problem. The probes are very expensive.

My Astral ph sensor was out of cal from new. Bought 7.5 PH calibration fluid & has been perfect since. Probes should be cleaned every 6 months as well.

this technology is definitely not perfect, but the main reason is that the probes need to be calibrated every 6 months roughly, so if you get a system like this you need to buy it from someone who can service it for you on a regular basis

What would be a reasonable acid usage? I reckon I might use close to (but not quite) 5L per month in my 70kL pool. I try to keep alkalinity between 80-120ppm and chlorine around 2ppm.

Have my zodiac lm340 in a shed. Still going strong. Never trusted self dosage acid.
