@@itisnottaken4444 Can confirm my uncle was pretty big when he was younger the Marines forced him a strict diet consisting of MREs, salads, and beans, and of course lots working out he look completely different after/during service when my grandma and dad went to get him after he got discharged they almost didn't recognize him and thought some random guy confused them for his family was funny hearing that story unfortunately he suffers from ptsd and survivors guilt and would've been homeless cause his apartment was sold with him knowing so he lived his mom for years until he saved up enough and got his own house he doing good now but he definitely needs some therapy

I just graduated U.S. Army basic training and am a drummer as well. Have been playing since I was 8 and doing drumline for 6 years. And I can totally agree on the pride that comes from serving.

Holy cow man! I played percussion in marching band through high School, I was a lifeguard and captain of the swim team, I got fired from Home Depot and I joined the army! Only difference is I didn't join the Army band.

I joined because my dad was in the navy and I used to joke to him about swabbing the deck so I had to one up him and join the Marines , one week into bootcamp swabbing the deck sounded pretty good.

Dude I joined in 2000. "They" came looking for me in bootcamp. They yelled at me and asked why I didn't tell them I was in band and why I didn't wanna join the Marine Band lol. I said because this recruit wants to blow things up. Lol. I kinda regret not taking the opportunity. Snare player by trade

Hey EMC I'm a kid (junior high) I'm a flute player in my school's symphonic band. I do play in my school's drumline but I want to play in the drumline for highschool. As a flute player I lack skills and practice for percussion. I was wondering if you can give me tips and advice on what to do in terms of practice and learning how to play.

Sir I am still new to my band I joined 9 months ago I've learned 3 basic scales on the keyboard 1 beat on drumset and a lot of rudiements and I would like to know if you have any advice for a beginner percussionist? But I'm a freshman with like no experience and I learned how to read drum music and a little bit of treable cleaf and i really want to be in the military i would like to be a weilder for the navy but I would like to be something in music but sir do you still have any advice? And I should of mentioned I would love to play snare but I have a hard time on rolls and flams
