Freshers are lined up to do jobs of Manual testing for 15k/month in Bangalore. Sorry for the rant , but it really does not help anyone . I'm 29. I wasted valuable five years of my life due to the stupid underestimation about myself (including some huge personal problems as well). I studied CSE in the #1 engineering university of Bangladesh. But since childhood, I lack courage and underestimate myself all the time. So, after studying with the best of the best students, I started believing that I'm very "small" compared to them. So, I started my career in teaching at universities instead. Now, I have left my career to figure out my true career. The weakness/strength of mine is that I can't just run after something just because it is traditional/mainstream. I need to be absolutely sure about it that I WANT this for myself. So, videos like this help me to question myself, what do I actually want? I've currently started my journey of soul searching with the popular MERN stack. I hope and pray that I find the profession I absolutely love and be someone with good technical skills. So far, I think being able to build stuff and being a good engineer seems very interesting. To become that, I would like to take whatever steps it takes.

I have said this before, will quote it again. “Often people think that getting a job is hard which is not. It's just a sprint which you need to win. Perhaps, what's difficult is to stay and consistently performing well.” When it comes to Job, it’s is a long game. 3-4 years in software you know the upper cap of your income. You know you will be slogging all year and end up earning 40-50 lakhs after giving 30% as taxes. It’s a hard earned money tough! Or What else you can do is, leverage the existing user base you have, launch some fancy course or platform and fetch years of income in one go. It’s the case with most of the influencers like you. So, would not be surprised to see you launching some course.

@KeertiPurswani Totally agree with Keerti here. Many HMs say backend, hire SDEs and then say even Frontend or fullstack is fun, why can't work on FE? Sometimes, the work even becomes SRE type. HMs don't reveal full picture to attract talent thinking that ppl will be flexible and can't leave soon after joining. What HMs don't understand is - you lost the trust of SDE and it feels that SDE is cheated and won't feel happy working in that setup. You did the right thing!!

Honestly, be a product based company or service based company what really matters is are we enjoying the things that we are doing at the moment. I liked the fact that you said that you gave up the joining bonus and stocks and that was not sacrifice for your students but a selfish choice that you made for your happiness. Just a Request: In your Bootcamp/classes/mentorship programs give a chance to students specifically from Tier 3 colleges. Because they don't have the motivation to learn and crack better opportunities due to their college environment (even I face an inferiority complex while applying to Intuit, Paypal, Amazon etc.). They might be average in studies but they do have a fighting spirit that only needs direction. If anyone of them gets their dream opportunity it will make a huge impact on others. When I heard 2-3 people from my batch got offers from Google, the motivation went to the next level. Also, share their learning experience on RU-vid.

Hello there! 👋 I thoroughly enjoyed your video! I wanted to share a suggestion: It might be better if you could touch upon your genuine interest in pursuing a Software Development Engineer (SDE) role. Perhaps explicitly expressing that Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) doesn't align with your passions while also clarifying that SRE involves more than "just writing pipelines". This clarification is important as some individuals actually enjoy that work. They transition from SDE to SRE roles. It could provide a more comprehensive view! 😄

Hats off for your courage for speaking the truth! You don't have to prove anything to anyone.Just chill and relax without thinking too much. You made a big professional sacrifice for your family ,not many people do that. In the future also whether you get a job or not should'nt even matter because you have already proved your skills. If teaching and having a family is what make you happy and satisfied you should do that. Money can buy a lot of things but not everything including happiness and satisfaction.

Learning from the work that you do every day can be very scoped depending on the company and its scale. Start up's have good learning comparatively. This can be very critical, you can't touch all the aspects of technology within the confinement of the Jira task. Learning should be seen inside and outside the work that we do every day.

Amazon and Atlassian might be at opposite spectrum in terms of wlb & culture.

Don't take it otherwise, but the message that we see here is you worked really hard for your interviews, but ended up at a job you ended up not liking. Doesnt matter how great the pay is, fact is that you didn't make much fruitful out of it. Yes situation might not be right for a lot of people, getting the wrong team to work with etc. I'd say one can work with smaller companies too that can at least give a good clarity on what the job would look like, but probably that's not gonna give you enough RU-vid views. The brand and pay of atlassian is helping you here for your content. What we really expect from tech youtubers is to probably talk about whats going in their job or just what happens in general. Don't really see a value in following influencers who just keep switching jobs frequently just to show how much growth they made. But in the longer term that's really not a good idea. You make good value by learning processes in the job, not just cracking it (Problem with most tech influencers in India)

I dont think people do this for their passion to teach students. It's the story of every software engineer, they just want an alternative for their financial needs so that they can leave their 9-12 hrs job, escape those chaotic environment of reporting managers every day, to meet the deadlines, to fix the bugs, its really too much. That is a sole reason why the youtubers leaves their crores of package and start here coz they already have attracted a handful of audience being one of the faang employees so now they have a good scope here.
