Actually, this video shows a maturity that we don't get to see very often. Your vivacious and fun side always comes thru. But you can see growth from your Buzzfeed time to now. I like it.
Buzzfeed feels like such a toxic place at this point cause all these creators seemed like they were overworked and not treated fully like people but just work horses creating entertainment

Alix has given me so much inspiration. I used to be so closeted and so insecure and did not know how to manage all the stuff I had coming down in life. Alix was one of the many BAD ASS PPL that I looked up to the most. She taught me how to be brave, yet tamed. CONFIDENT, but not boastful. And the most thing I value the most which Ive learned from her, is to VALUE MYSELF and the being that I am. Thank you Alix for teaching me how to love me the way I am.

I know from experience how it is to be burnt out from work. Alix is luckier that she loved her work, I unfortunately was in it because it totally pays the bills and then some. Not that I was a slacker; far from it actually which sadly caused burn out. If I could go back in time, I'd really love to be able to tell my younger and very eager self to slow down and take better care of yourself.
I understand Alix feelings. When I started at my company, it was only 5 years old and I grew with them. This year we celebrated it's 15th anniversary and also my professional career came to an end. It's pandemic and everyone is losing their jobs whether they like it or not, yet I choose to leave due to the excessive burn out ...its gotten worst in the beginning of the year when I started self harming again. I love my job.. I love some of the people... But soemtimes.. Good things must come to an end. I wish them nothing but goodness and I hope they'll flourish and grew together with the company as I did

Yep, burnout is FOR REAL!!! I agree with you that our culture in America is go go go go go (that’s in every industry). It’s great when you love doing a job, but you have to be careful that you don’t spread yourself thin. Finding balance is key!!
This is how it works - for those who don't know. Buzzfeed pays you a salary for the job you're hired to do. If your job is video production and you do well, people want to watch because of you, not be because it's buzzfeed. When you gain enough of a following, you can go ahead and beta test/ start your own Channel and see how it does. If you're doing well, then why work on a fixed salary when you can keep at that $$$. That's exactly what's happened here. You can't afford fancy apartments and telsas at her age without an audience willing to watch and enjoy content.
