We moved from Barrie to South Carolina in May, my wife is American and wanted to be with her family. The cost of living in Canada is crazy, gas is expensive, renting is expensive and even buying a new home. I bought my house for 289k pre Covid era and during that time it went up to 600k. A nice home with good property in SC is roughly 170-200k American, which normally comes with mostly everything updated and land. Our previous home was a linked townhouse.. you can’t get anything in Ontario for cheap unless you wish to move too Thunderbay and by cheap I mean a dump that needs to be totally updated. It’s sad because I love my country but the leaders are greedy and don’t care about the people. Liberals have ruined Canada and unless things change I’ll never go back. Weather was never a factor for me as it’s actually not nearly as cold as it has been, it just feels like there isn’t much of a spring or fall anymore.

Moscow? In Russia? You ENJOY living in a war economy under heavy sanctions, ruled by a corrupt, bloodthirsty dictator? You don't mind the lack of freedom,the low living standards, the bitter cold winters? And exactly what kind of "oriental" culture do you find in Moscow? Do you mean Russian culture is "oriental"? What nonsense! Give my regards to Putin, remember me to Red Square. I don't believe a word of what you've written.
@firstandlastname2390
@firstandlastname2390 9 месяцев назад
@@LeeZaslofsky Yes, Moscow in Russia. The heavy sanctions are caused by some western countries but thanks to the resilience, hard work and creativity of Russians, those sanctions are having a low impact on our daily lives. Russia is actually becoming stronger in some sectors as they have to develop their own technology, similar to the time of the Soviet Union. Also, the support from other countries in the world is at its strongest level since USSR. You are focusing only on the political side. And since you mention it, my vision is that Mr. Putin is defending the interests of its nation and country. Russia is a country with a very rich history and culture, with amazing people and has so many different ethnicities. That is why Russian people are so welcoming, truthful and are not judging others. I don’t really feel any lack of freedom in my daily life, actually I feel more free than when I was living in Canada where there are so many strict laws and where the politically correct is censoring people’s speech in a one way thinking. The living standards and quality is above Toronto when it comes to what you can do with your money (better and cheaper restaurants, more activities, cleaner streets, more modern and the city is alive). Winters in Moscow are similar to temperatures in Montreal. The oriental culture I find in Moscow is the mix of people from Siberia, Central Asia, and Caucuses.

I studied Russian History for my Master's Degree. I can rad Russian and I am very familiar with Russian culture and Soviet history. Most of what you have written here is either a big pile of bullshit, or evidence of your inability to perceive reality. Putin is trying to destroy the Ukrainian people and their independent nation. He is using some of the most barbaric tactics ever seen. Putin is a ruthless dictator, and so corrupt that his fortune is estimated in the tens of billions of dollars -- money that belongs to the Russian people. He has been the boss of Russia for decades, the result of rigged elections, suppression of opposition, and, all too often, assassination of those who speak the truth about him and his corrupt regime. His treatment of Mr. Navalny is pure Stalinism. Navalny's crime? Daring to speak the truth about Putin. The rest of your bullshit is nothing but right wing fascist propaganda, complaining about Canada's "strict rules" while you live under one of the world's most repressive regimes. How long will you wait before you volunteer to serve in Putin's army? Why are you not already in uniform, fighting in Ukraine? Russia has made itself a pariah among nations. Putin has an arrest warrant out for him in most countries in the world. He is accused of war crimes, deliberate targeting of civilians, torture and mass murder, kidnapping Ukrainian children, aggression against a peaceful neighbour. "Political correctness"? Putin's political correctness is enforced by harsh laws against "promoting homosexuality", using the word "war" to describe what is going on in Ukraine, and arresting anyone who dares to protest at the perversion of Russian ideals by the Putin regime.

@@LeeZaslofsky This channel is not the place for hate and politics but your comment is the proof that having a master degree doesn’t mean being smart. It is never comfortable to learn.

Canada works for me. It’s way more than just Vancouver and Toronto. I’d never live in either of those two places. I’ve never had any complaints about Canadian healthcare, and I’ve had to use it for serious things over the years. Good idea for you to leave and experience other parts of the world if you aren’t happy with Canada. Maybe experiencing more of the world will give you a greater appreciation of what Canada has to offer.

I had a heart scare while doing a treadmill ECG, The specialist asked a bunch of "How are you feeling?, does it hurt?, are you dizzy/light headed?" it wasn't quite frantic. I guess the cardio rhythm graph they were looking at turned into something that looked like Beyoncé's "Texas Holdem" sheet music. Because I wasn't actually having a "Jammer" I got dressed and was told that There would be 2 more imaging procedures. This was labelled with "PRIORITY" on it and it still took more than 2 months for the imaging. It took over a month to get a follow-up phone appointment. The phone appointment was probably with her using one of those crappy headsets that always cut out. So anyway, I still don't know about any dietary concerns (not mentioned... so deep-fried bacon is okay I guess). I actually asked if I should alter my exercise routine and the answer was something Trudeau or Freeland might have said... Full but nonsensical sentences. So yeah, Health care is more like Health couldn't Care less.

Agree with most points whole-heartedly, however, unless you are rich you probably don't want to rely on insurance. Insurance is all good, until its time to pay, then there's a reason it doesn't qualify, or something you did or didn't do that results in them not paying. Anytime I've needed a payout for any insurance it has always been a battle, the profit motive is best left out of healthcare in my opinion.

You make a valid point about the complexities and challenges often associated with insurance, especially in the realm of healthcare. It can indeed be frustrating when coverage falls short or disputes arise during times of need. I have been thinking of moving to Asia too. I am a first generation immigrant and have been living in Canada for 23 years, longer than I have in my country of birth. As a new family with child, we make decent household income, while not super wealthy we are well off. However, what I do find is that the taxes are so high (between income tax, GST/HST, and property tax) that I am unable to save much of what I make. Now with a child, I am dreading the public school experience as it has become very bad and kids don't really learn much.

You are so wrong about the healthcare. It is way more safe to finance some difficult medical issues via taxes than from your own pocked. My father in law had cancer. He had several operation and he took lots of medicine. He was not able to buy those from his small pension. As long as you are young and healthy you think this tax is money thrown out of the window, but as you are getting older you will see that this is really mandatory.

It’s tough when housing costs consume such a large portion of your income, leaving little room for other expenses. Finding affordable housing can be a significant challenge, especially in cities like Vancouver where the cost of living is high. It’s important to prioritize essentials like food and utilities while also exploring ways to potentially increase income or reduce expenses. Seeking out additional support or resources in your community could also be beneficial. Joining a community can provide valuable resources and support to navigate through financial challenges like housing costs. Together, we can share resources and find ways to make ends meet more comfortably. Facebook community: facebook.com/groups/abundantaestheticlife.community/

Canada was built by hard-working people with integrity and compassion. They came from all over the world every country imaginable. But were all united in a vision of a great place to live, and to raise their children. The current government which will have been in power eight years has totally ruined that legacy catering to every special interest group that says you owe me money solely to stay in power. The other factor-is that current generations have no commitment to Canada. Oh yeah, they’ll take the university education,, the safety of our streets. The freedom of speech but the reality is when things get tough they’ll come running back Canada and the boring weather The single biggest reason for bankruptcies in the US both personal and business is healthcare costs It is a bit of a fantasy thinking to think that a private healthcare systems can solve health problems. Just ask the millions of Americans that have lost their homes their businesses due to healthcare cost had and have applied to immigrate to Canada because they can’t take care of their families And again when things get tough, people come running back. I Kinda hypocritically

There's pros and cons no matter where you go on this planet. There is no such thing as a Utopia. You can come close, but there are always trade offs. Better weather can be had by moving to someplace closer to the equator, but then there's other downsides you have to get used to. A simple example would be if you moved to Mexico. There you would be regarded as a "Gringo". The locals don't like outsiders and the business owners will charge you more to make purchases than they would a local. Sad but true. Bigotry is everywhere. Also, in the southern climates you have to deal with BIG BUGS...spiders, scorpions, poisonous snakes. Traveling is one thing, but selecting a permanent place to live isn't so easy. Yes, there's a lot of crud going on in Canada what with high inflation, taxes up the wazoo, housing and food crisis, all which you can blame on the corrupt Liberal government. However, I'd rather stick it out here and try to help change things in my own limited way than to move to a country that isn't a "democracy" and, not knowing the laws there, wind up in a jail cell because some corrupt cop plants contraband drugs on my person or car then proceeds to charge me for possession. That kind of crap goes on as well.

Tho i understand why most people want to leave Canada, me and my family consider this as well, a lot of people simply cant afford to move. There are a lot of older Canadians who will never be able to afford to retire, and are too old to find work in other countries because they dont have high pedigree experience. They have no money or assets to sell either. If you are able to move you are extremely lucky. I feel like even if we sold our house which is the only thing we own, my parents are too old to start life over in another country and we feel stuck here. Not sure where in the world isnt going to fall under the same issues since its the WEF and other large secretive groups who are destroying a lot of countries, maybe they are better now but not for long.
