Probably has bad knees. Also I live in Chicago I got caught in stop and go traffic from Carrol stream till 2 miles along I-65 south, a 40mi trip that took almost 3 hours I couldn't imagine dealing with that in a manual. Autos are so much more relaxing to drive.
I do not consider "one wash a month" or "inward facing cameras" or "baby sitting hit-the-brakes" system in a 2018 Kenworth T6-something "small things". I had the baby sitting thing hit the brakes on southbound I-94 just north of Mauston, Wisconsin, where the interstate curves left and the exit goes straight. The baby-sitting brakes nearly put me through the video windshield when the bumper camera stayed on a slowing exiting car. Phooey! Just makes me want to go out and kiss my Pre-emissions/pre-EGR/ELD/exempt Freightliner Century.
I started in '02. I quit last november, probably for good (unless I buy my own truck and authority). I saved and invested the whole time, while living cheap in the truck. I'm glad I got mine while the gettin' was good, cuz it *SUCKS ASSHAIR* now,.
I have seen many companies either fail or lose accounts because they feel it’s better to get rid of employees then it is to make exceptions to their policies or by micromanaging. Go Decker.
Inward Camera not good.. I have been wondering about smart drive and dumb drive systems.. those safety nav systems need a screen and a light maybe not too loud of an audio .. I have heard of many Drivers who have quit Companies with Navigator systems.. on them . Navigator systmes are very expensive.. they need an off switch or bi-pass switch .. I guess this goes to show how bad self driving trucks would be. They say the self driving trucks will never work in the snow ect.. same with the Navigator you need to be able to turn it off in the snow .. So all those who were wondering what you were doing.. I guess it's your 5 Suscribers and 55 viewrs.. It is great info. I just did a search for Decker because I was considering them .. Thanks for Posting..
Unfortunately Tim, it sounds like the top management at Decker were never behind the wheel of a truck. Or it's been such a long time that they've lost touch with reality. Even the Tesla FSD has this issue, known as "phantom braking". At least the carriers with self-driving trucks are smart enough to only allow them on routes with no snow.
Great video. I was contacted by decker for a dedicated account. Glad I saw your video first. What are some good companies that don't have inward cameras?
I'm with a private fleet driver. That does not have in ward facing cameras. However, we have similar safety devices and forward cameras. So far no baby sitting or coaching calls. It's loacal 11 to 12 hours 5 days a week.
Working for one out of Toledo, he needs a couple guys, no cameras, cruise at 72 mph, no beeping Bendix system.. Brandon at +1 419-699-6207 tell him Tim gave you his number.

Sounds like the system on my Kenworth T680. My system would hit the brakes; snow, ice, whatever, when a car was in the right hand exit lane. POS system. Same with the in cab camera. The in cab 5th wheel release never worked right. One day I just went off on it, swearing and complaining. Next day, maintenance sent a Qualcomm message asking if I had a 5th wheel issue, so yeah, they're listening ALL the time.
Be an owner operator and wash your truck when you want and all of that phone and dispatch computer crap is a distraction and a head ache it would drive anyone nuts
I agree with Tim I drove for Lawrence Transportation and that sucks u do not like forward facing Caners and that beeping nose I Start with Decker On Monday
Had the same exact thing happen at my company it really is bs..did it also bc of the overpass..company doesn't give a shit though..unfortunately it's coming to every company..the insurance companies are doing it
A CAMERA FACING ME ARE IGNORANT!! -- I DROVE A NEW TRUCK WITH 12 SPEED LAST YEAR.. IT HAD ALL THE NEW STUFF IN IT!!! > ALL THOSE BEEPS AND OTHER CRAP IS SENSELESS!!!
Dart Transit has all of those things you don't like. IN FACT, ALL OF THE OTHER COMPANIES LOCATED THERE TEND TO FOLLOW SUIT WITH DART ON "SAFETY RELATED" devices. better bet is to look at the company in OKC. 😎
I have that in my truck they can turn down the volume of that crash avoidance system I had a dealer turn it down and my company that I used to work for was serviced the oil change and found out it was turned down and turned it back up I quite them to can’t stand the system you go around a curve and it wants to hop because it is applying pressure to an axle so it begins to shutter and shack the truck dumbest system ever on a truck if it hits a guardrail or bridge it will brake hard and put you out of control.
Saw a 379 decker and was semi interested. Then this guy says inward facing cam. If I had access to their desk cams and mics also, I might consider it. Once your at the wheel, these companies work for you. They forget that with out drivers, they don’t have a company or a job. Same thing with this stupid bendix system they are putting on trucks now days. If you can’t trust the driver, then perhaps you shouldn’t hire them……….
I was just wonder how you got 3400 miles a week pulling refer, I didn't get even close to that. And still hardly got 3000 mile an thats running hard, when my ten hours were I hit it, only stops for breaks and pit stops. I was wondering who our dispatch was again?
Yah-good catch! I was too busy finding other problems with the guy's stories. And another one of his videos he says he drove 4200 miles in a week. Mind you, he did not specify that he was in any kind of exempted driving like Farm husbandry or oil fields. To do 4,200 miles in seven calendar days would require an average of 600 miles per day. This also assumes that he would be paid "odometer" miles or else he'd have to actually drive more miles than this. He would have to average almost 55 mph for all statutory allowed 11 hours per 10 consecutive hours off. I could tell you for damn sure he's not driving in the Chicagoland area or on the borman expressway in Indiana: Motorcycles can't average 55 mph 6 days in a row in this area: not during daylight. I don't care if he's in good with God; nobody in the electric logging device era can turn that many miles per day an attractor trailer combination loaded with the average weight of 20,000 lb or more, at least not legally, east of the Mississippi River, North of Interstate, 40, and up to the Great Lakes.states. and if you're south of Interstate 40 and east of Interstate 57, you're going to need a 550 HP engine to keep up a good average speed when you're going over Monteagle, Tennessee. For this and the preceding paragraph, miles and engine power are quite unlikely in any trucking company that has more than 10 trucks. Perhaps a few flatbed and auto hauler and maybe tanker companies.. But he took a job at a company geographically near me, just a hop skip and jumped on the road actually, which I'll suspect is an Eastern European national company which means they'll let you win the lottery and drive as much as you want. Eastern Europeans have the privilege to convert their American dollars to their home currency and live like kings.
I experienced that stupid Bendix locking my break thought it was going to kill me 78000 gross truck passed me cut back in way too quick traffic to the left was headed to the shoulder to avoid the idiot on the brakes in front of me and this truck thought it was a good idea to totally lockdown jump up and down no steering just along for the ride closest I've been to serious accident in 15 years I refuse to drive with this system it is very unsafe in my opinion the out to the right shoulder was the correct maneuver not total lockdown glad it was dry roads
Found a great company from the Chicago area, put me in a 2022 Cascadia, making .80 cents a mile pulling a dry van. They keep me really busy, over 3,000 miles a week, but I don't want home time so I stay out 8 or 10 weeks at a time. No East Coast or NYC. They may be looking for drivers, they only have 25 trucks, their name is "Beyond Freight"
If you ever go to an orientation at any company and they show you videos of accidents or other stuff one of their drivers did wrong, all of them show inside view of the driver, now all of them say they don't have inward facing cameras but yet always have a video showing otherwise,I believe every truck at these big companies has a hidden cam somewhere on the dashboard secretly recording the driver, just so they can prove why they shouldn't pay millions in an accident.
Decker Transportation , What a disgusting company. I did a relay with one of their driver’s when I drove for Decker in Tolleson, Arizona. The idiot went between the truck and trl I was driving and pulling and dropped his pants and squatted . He hit the catwalk step and the front drive tires . Oh yes I demanded that they were going to pay for a truck wash , Which they did . But as I stated “disgusting company” , Why ? Can you believe that they actually requested photos of the incident ? Come to find out this driver had previously done a relay with another driver, Where this particular driver got between that driver’s truck and trl and urinated all over the catwalk step. Absolutely one of the most disgusting companies I ever drove for , They hire animals. Think about it , The entrance to the truck stop was less than 200 ft and he did that , Yes that’s an animal. Glad you left them , Cheers to your new start.
Had brakes kick in on me once..scared the ba jesus outta me..lucky the road was dry! The cameras are stoopid because its ai..not real world. I guess theyre just goona sit back and wait for something bad to happen w the brake system before they change anything. Then theyll say the had no idea
Yeah they will tell you they don’t listen to the audio on the cameras because in most states it’s illegal to record a person without their permission also you should be able to cover the camera when you’re parked because it’s invasion of privacy and they could be seeing things they should not that is your house also I agree about the automatic braking systems they are dangerous I’ve had my truck slam on the brakes for overpasses and even signs too close to the road it’ll pick up and the collision warning will flash and it will slam on the brakes, you just never know with those things and of course if that happens in bad weather conditions rain ice snow there could be an accident and eventually somebody’s going to get killed and it won’t be the drivers fault but they will still try to blame it on the driver, These companies put all this garbage we don’t want or need in these trucks and then pay us garbage don’t give us enough miles in many cases and they wonder why they can’t keep drivers, duhhhhh!
Yes I did they are pretty much the same through out The decker company God Gift to The Whole world of Trucking aregint a holes so Don't feel bad There that way to every one your not special 🤣
95,000 miles in 8 months is less than 12,000 miles a month which is less than 3,000 miles a week. That is NO miles; when u consistently get 4,000 miles per week, that’s getting miles @ .75cpm
So There in Ohio They don't pay Tolls Reall- LLLy That's a no Brainer . Everything out of Ohio and coming in is Toll roads. if you are being paid by the mile another Company trying to rip off its drivers. No! But They want to Pay hourly Shure why not Get your load Stay on the back Roads route 66 all the good Old days roads that would last all Of HALF a day they would be calling with What are you doing why are you on Route 66 ? Go check out the Sites and all yeah Right 🤣
Soar Transportation will spy on you if your stuck in traffic, or if you stop at a store to get your glasses adjusted! That's why I quit them! Plus they gave me a truck with a bent frame.and their mechanics are assholes!
I don't believe in the inward facing camera, if you don't know how to drive a truck after 2 years then you don't need to be driving a truck, the outward facing camera is ok
WAIT! HOLD IT! Just after watching this video of yours, a "1-yr" time stamp, I see another video of yours "Try Decker Truck Line"....with a 11-month time stamp....so..... .....WHO-YAH CRAPPIN'....???!!! You say "I quit" in a video older than a video where you said "Join". You're CRAPPIN' me!
