yeah its completely normal in competing, irl or online. at the highest level but also at the lowest, i used to compete n shit in overwatch and i remember how hard it was for me to leave my plat team and move on.
I've never been a pro gamer, but ive definitely had squat/team/clan drama before. It sucks to make/find a new home team and even worse when you have IRL ties to some of your team mates and such. But if I'm being honest, you HAVE to look at DSG as a placeholder squad. They may be good, they may even be trying to get recognition, but from the big picture, if you zoom out, it was a group of homies that were good enough to flex a little with the big boys, but it was never meant to be a permanent home. Pro leagues and teams and such are a business first, and family second. Unfortunately when it comes to comp, thats the way it HAS to be. And dsg was a placeholder team until you find your legs, get your mind right, and make your goals a reality, or at least a start. DSG will always hold a solid place in your heart because thats where you tested your mettle and found out that competition is where you want to be. You may find another team, or 100 more teams, or you may even stay in moist forever, it all depends on what makes the most sense for you, and your goals. Business first, which includes what makes the most sense not only financially, but futuristically and setting up for a reinforced and secure position and growth. The one thing you can be sure of, is that youre a good dude because you felt conflicted about leaveing, when most people would have jumped at the chance to make money and be a winner without hesitation. It shows you felt loyalty and whike that may not be the most important thing in competitive scene, its definitely worth a lot.
@nemiw4429 Every person who has no in-depth knowledge of a subject, won't look meticulously at it to find the nuances that need to be tweaked or eliminated in order to see it from a successful business venture. They use such silly buzzwords as "toxic" with absolutely no understanding of what it takes to be a solid team mate, while simultaneously sharpening independent skills and proving your worth as an individual. Mind games, shit talking, rage baiting, and popping off are all a part of the role you play as a pro. Timmy doesn't rage, nor does he talk shit, so all he needs to focus on is the business side of things, which includes but is not specifically LIMITED to the money. It's also about chemistry, about practicing until you hate the game, and making sure that this type of commitment is the same commitment you see coming from each amd every team mate in your clan/squad. And if not, YOU AND your leader/ IGL need to make sure to hold those slackers accountable, and if that's not being done, they're dead weight, and if dead weight is tolerated, the squad is susceptible to failure. These are a few, but not all, things that are included in "the business" side of things. It's called protecting your investment. Investment of time, energy, patience, self worth, self respect, and your future.

I started watching Apex because of DSG, I'm a fan of them in every competition (except league since after its no longer fun to watch after winning the Challengers) and Timmy being in DSG was perfect since he was about the only person i knew and their names were so perfect together! I will definitely keep watching and I'll stay a fan of DSG and Timmy but I'm conflicted of who I'm cheering for the most haha And Timmy don't worry man, we're dissapointed but we're not mad, we wish you the very best and hopefully a lot of trophies because you deserve it! The DSG team was incredibly chaotic and he was taking a $0 salary. It may feel bad but career growth is usually more easily attained by leaving your current position and leveraging a better one. Moist was already a good team. Now with Timmy it could get even more interesting.

Congratulations I think going with Moist is a great move. Yes the story with the boys would be cool too, but Moist will give you the opportunity you want or need to grow as a competitor.
