Hi. Did you experience working at the Buy counter? If I sell DVDS that are still new and unopened, what's your best judgement of the highest offer price?
I want to work there it’s like a dream to work in a bookstore but I get anxiety thinking about me not reading every genre of books I like to read horror/thriller and haven’t read anything else would that be a problem? I don’t want a customer coming up to me and asking me for recommendations on something I don’t know
Here’s why I won’t go back. Went in with 4 boxes of books, all fairly recent, all in good shape. Walked around and checked out books from six to sixteen bucks. Called me to desk...gave me eight bucks. Never again. Get get books cheaper online. Ripped off.
Half Price is the only bookstore I go to. And there's so many locations around me I never struggle to find what I'm looking for. As someone who worked there for almost a year, you don't realize how many books are put on the shelf and go unsold and sent off to one of the outlet locations. Multiple pallets a week at any given store. It's a business. They won't stay in business paying for books no one wants or overpaying because people want to get mad.
Dave Stock so do you mean when they opened back In 1972, when prices were different. And now there is something called inflation and no smart or good business could possibly stay open going off 70’s business pricing.
thecsfnts Half of something is still half, inflation or not. Sold four boxes of books, most current and in good shape, for approx. 50 cents apiece. Books on shelf from 6 to 12 bucks. I can order them from Amazon for that price. Ripped off. That’s their business. Not mine. I just won’t frequent it.
