I love living in The Villages. I've never been so active. I've been able to try new activities and new experiences. It's so easy to get around. People are so friendly, which makes it easy to adjust to.

How is the political situation there? Being from the northeast, no one talks politics unless you somehow know the other persons political affiliation & if you agree. It is such a hot topic these days.
@@RG-hf4et The Villages is basically conservative. I personally try to avoid the conversations that can spark controversy. Never really have had an issue.
Absolutely no regrets to moving here four years ago. Activities abound, friends easy to make. It’s not perfect but no community is. More to praise about than complain about.
Uplifting quick take! I'm single in far upstate Ny & suspect I would feel like a poor person living there - teacher's retirement pension.....Is it true that about 3 of 4 people are women there? Is it accurate that more places are getting turned into short/long term rentals? What percentage of owners use it as a second or third home? Thanks!
@@lauraporter3434 hi actually there are a very large number of retired teachers here. It is very affordable in comparison to other areas in Florida. The key is to be willing to downsize. Smaller homes are very popular here and can be purchased for around 250-300k depending on location and size. I love my little cottage home in the northern section of The Villages. There are rentals here but the vast majority of the homes are owner lived in, about 20% of Villagers are snow birds. In my Village I know of about 5-6 rentals but have never heard of any problems. Believe me if the tenants get out of hand the Village Security will have more calls than they can handle and the home owner will be contacted immediately. Yes more women than men but that is our age demographic in every part of the country. Men typically die before women.
