Thanks so much for the amazing response to this video! I'm really blown away by all the comments. Make sure you check out my videos from Chiang Mai, Pai, Pattaya and Koh Chang right here 🎥: ru-vid.com/group/PLIHYvA1qSN5PXQ7on7NM9ALIqSeeIb9QW
i've lived in Bangkok since 2015. And it's infuriating when people tell me they hate it. When I ask where did they go? Khao San Road and Soi 11. smh. This like going to Time Square and then commenting that NYC sucks. lol. You did an EXCELLENT job on this. There are about 30 things I would add. hahaha
@@OneShotAdventures I bet. I'm on the road until February and can't wait to get home. I've been holding off from making Bangkok videos because it's my home. But I think it's time to show the many faces of this amazing city. Living in Bangkok is VERY different than visiting. Especially when you learn Thai.
Lived in BKK for 8 years and only went to Khao San once. My recommendation for all travelers: go there once or skip it entirely, there’s much more to see. Some of my favorites: - Eathai food court: they curated the best street food from all over Thailand and put them in one mall - Rot Fai Train Night Market - Tep Bar for Thai Herbal Liqours Enjoy!
❤️🇹🇭My favorite country of all time. Best foods, people, beautiful cultures. The thing that I like about Japan and ThaiLand is that they have never been colonized to any country from Europe before. So they're original and have many beautiful cultures and tradition to learn from. Love from 🇺🇸
All reasons why i should go back to Bangkok..i love this city! It makes me feel alive, younger and vibrant with everything that Bangkok has to offer. Definitely a destination for everyone who wants to escape from the busy normal robotic life!
We enjoyed our visit there. I went with my husband during one of his business trips. The people are hard working and very friendly. The food is incredible and even better than the Thai food in Hollywood California.
Well done! I spend a lot of time in Bangkok and much of this is new to me. One thing I would add is Bang Krachao, which is hard to believe it's actually in Bangkok. A short boat ride takes you 50 years back in time and into the jungle.
I've been living in bkk for almost 2 months, and I'm really positively surprised, I've been to Khoasan road twice and hated it, it is what Thailand is known for but it is the opposite of what it actually is, so much more interesting stuff to do and see, this video captures my feeling about the city very well! (and got some good new tips)
I love Bkk so much too. I’m falling in love with this country at the first time. They have got everything. Especially,it’s such awesome food, culture, people and beautiful beaches.
We've been to Bangkok so many times and you have summed up everything so on point! Also one of our favourite cities and the rest of Thailand has so much to offer too! Great ep!
Marvellous for play short times not for living long term because one year only family marriage working retirement visas and raising a family being one foreigner v all
You are literally one of the best travel bloggers covering Thailand I have seen! You are lucid, fluid and interesting. And clearly a good cinematographer and editor. Great on screen presents and narrator as well (truly friendly). Glad to find you in my feed. Keep up the great work!👍
ahhh Bangkok!!!! this just made me excited and itch to go to Thailand already. aside from the sights that i want to see, i am just really excited to eat thai food bc thai cuisine is luuuuuuv. that pool with the view reminds me of our hotel in Kuala Lumpur, both have stunning views to swim in and the hotel does look insanely luxuriously. the markets look awesome - a great place to walk around and explore the different stalls and stores. will definitely rewatch this when im about to head to Thailand. thanks for sharing a lot of interesting hidden gems! this will truly help me in planning the itinerary for this trip in the future.
Thanks for ideas for when we next head to Bangkok! We have been there so many times but have managed to miss out on some of your recommendations because we are always on a mission to find something or do something when we are there! As always your editing and story telling is amazing! Thanks as always for sharing!
Timezone Junkies thanks guys! It's definitely one of those cities that you end up having an admin list for visas etc! Glad there were some new spots for you on there 😊
Couldn't have made a better video! I have been 3 times, and it it deffinitely my favourite city, and also is the most exciting city in Asia. Great vibe, great food, has pretty much everything. If only the temperatures dropped to 15-20 degrees, it would be absolutely amazing.
@@OneShotAdventures Great videos also man! Very nicely documented. I'm very tempted now to travel to South East Asia again after watching your videos ^_^. Myanmar being on the list. Especially now, as the weather here in London is terrible! Great channel, keep up the great work!
Best best video yet. I’m subscribing. No face chat, to the point and no Diddley darling. Keep making great videos. I’ve been to Bangkok. I’ll be visiting some of those areas.
Ryan - you are an absolute LEGEND. So impressed by the quality of your content. Possibly the best travel videos I have seen (and I’ve seen a lot). Thank you so much. Jim
I LOVE BKK ! Just returned last week from my 14th visit there from USA. I really enjoy staying in the Silom/Sathorn neighborhood right around Bangkok's newest and tallest skyscraper Mahanakhon. Went to the glass tray skywalk and open air bar 310m up. Fabulous views at night ! Senior price is a steal. Thanks for your tips too... some I've yet to see. You'll never see all of it.
Used to hate Bangkok and couldn’t wait to leave, 2015 spent 3 weeks around Charoen Krung rd and it changed my mind completely, now looking forward to arriving in Bangkok Christmas Day and visiting Legends rooftop bar in the evening,if you’re staying in the Silom area I fully recommend Silom soi 10 food court , great Thai food and great prices!
I keep telling my tourists about all what you said in this video. I am glad to hear from words of foreigner like you. Thank you so much for creating such a great informative video. Kob khun kha 🙏
I love finding videos like this that focus on lesser known things to do in different places! Sometimes when we travel going to the really famous spots is so overwhelming and we like to find more off the beaten path type sites and activities! Great video!
Ha, yeah haven't been down Khoasan road since 2002! Way to showcase some of the highlights. WE alL loved the floating market. Floating villages in Thailand and N. vietnam are always so cool to check out. That hotel was AMAZING! I don't think anything like that existed when I was their...if it did it was well off my radar. Wat Arun was one of our Fav;s! Way to give er Ryan.!!! Great list.
Brother Dunne thank you my friend! From what I hear, the Khoa San Road was a much cooler place to stay back then. A proper backpacker place. Now it's just... Well, not great! Haha I'm with you, I always love the floating markets!
@@OneShotAdventures seems to happen to all the good places. I hear Laos is like this now in areas. When we were there it was hut villages, with wine Laos that never ended. Glad you found the right spots to hit up.
1st time viewer. Loved your video. Excellent narration. Concise elaboration. The "off the grid" type regions a traveler should see. Bravo my man! Thank you. Subscribe button slammed!!!
Nice video - I'm heading back for my 4th visit to BKK shortly and there are many places listed in your video that I've not seen yet that I'm looking forward to checking out.
My first visit to the city was in 2003, and I intended to stay for about 3 - 5 days before touring. I ended up there for 10. Staying out in Ramkamhaeng was definitely not normal for a tourist at that time. With no particular plan I would get up in the morning and go to the bus stops at the end of the Soi, then just get on a random bus and see where it took me. The people were incredibly friendly and helpful, the food in the back streets delicious, and things seemed so cheap (73 Baht to the pound!). Since then I spend most of my time up north, but occasionally will have a few days in Bkk. I fully endorse the boat trip - a great way to escape from the bustle and see areas most people will miss. The Golden Mount does indeed give great views of the city - and it has been renovated nicely since my previous visits, when it seemed quite run-down and I would often find just one or two other visitors. One thing I learned quickly about crossing the road - it helps to find a monk who is crossing and go with him, as drivers are a little less likely to aim at you . . .
Yes! Definitely! Bangkok is a great city and judging just by koh san road is a big mistake! We love this city and every time when we are in Asia we try to spend a few days in it :) All the places you mention are brilliant, especially Camp Flea market!
New subscriber here. Excellent video! BKK is by far my favourite city in the world to visit. I'm a huge fan of Thai streetfood so I'm in food heaven when i go there every time.
awesome great video, shows places I never would of thought in Bangkok, I was wondering what to visit while I'm there in april, this gave me great ideas.
👍🏻👍🏻Amazing & interesting video of Bangkok. There are many places to visit in Bangkok and others provinces in Thailand 🇹🇭. Thank you for love Bangkok.🙏🏻 Next time maybe go to Chiang Mai if you never been. 😁 Welcomes
Thanks for your video, I do kick it around khaosan road area alot or walk to MBK, their are some more places I like to visit or hotels I like to stay in to treat myself to more luxury just need to save up more for a bigger budget so I dont have to limit my visit to Bangkok. I've been to Bangkok like 4 times in my life so in October I wish to have more to do more. Thanks again for the hidden gems
You have inspired me! I was planning to leave this city asap after my arrival, but now I might just give it a shot. Thanks for sharing, you´re vlogs are very refreshing, funny and real. You don´t see that a lot nowadays.
This was a really great and helpful video. I already watched dozens of videos about Bangkok, because I will travel there in August, and your is so far the best one. I will definitly visit some of the places you mentioned. So thanks a lot!!
@@OneShotAdventures that's true, but the majority emphasis it's dark side. I hv been there, for a week, and I stayed clear of the red lights, and I was able to see Thailand like an amazing land with innocent smiling faces, and a lot to see. 😊😊😊😊😊
Nice to see something away from the areas that most people who haven't been to Thailand expect to see. If you get time maybe the towns and villages along the Mekong river.
i went in april this year and it was the best vacation i ever had....even ended up extending a three more days lol apart from the first day when i got sick from food bacteria (left my activated charcoal) it was amazing
Not stayed in Bangkok yet but this November staying 4 night before going Hua Hin love your vid just putting a list together now to what we want to see and do
Great vlog, indeed! I wholly agree with you 100% and cannot wait to get back. I was In Thailand last time in April 2019; will be back later this year. Sawadee krap and once again, great job!
Bangkok is incredible! The traffic is insane though. I loved the chatuchak market - spend the whole day and had no idea where I ended up, lol. I had no idea about the flee market... I heard of it but never went to it. Looks pretty cool! Have to go to Sky Bar on my next visit! Wow, Iconsiam looks fancy! Indoor floating market - lol? Thanks to this video, I have a lot to do on my next visit. I feel like I only scratched on the surface. 20 Pound per night... that's next to nothing. great video!
Reminds me of Magaluf in the first minute of the video 😂 Floating market looks amazing! Now that's what I call a banana boat 🍌 Oooh I really wanna try that snake-head fish now. The fact that I've never seen the floating markets or boat tours before shows that you really went off-the-beaten track in Bangkok. The hipster flea market looks cool!
Hi new subscriber here ! Loved your video , I shall be checking out some of the sights you mentioned , like me I try to avoid khao San road even though many years ago I had some good times there , must be my age 😆😆 , again thanks for your video really enjoyed it 🙏🙏🙏😎😎😎.
@@OneShotAdventures That's so very true , I used to hate Bangkok until I discovered the different sides to it , now I don't stay near khao San , in fact I really try to avoid the tourist places .Thanks once again 🙏🙏🙏😎😎😎.
I love Bangkok! It's an amazing city, especially with all the food you can get there. I just realized I hadn't subbed yet... Feeling a little ashamed, but just hit that sub button! :D
Bangkok is my Favourite city. I’ve been several times now but it still manages to come up with new things to see and do for someone who likes to roam around and maybe get a little off the beaten track. Haven’t been to Ari yet so that’s on my list for February as is Khlong Lad Mayom market. Great advice about the boat hire as well as my wife hasn’t been around the khlongs.
bangkok is off the hook. i am fortunate to have friends who live there so have been taken to many places only the locals would go. i have also done the very touristy things and totally understand how people can form the perceptions they do particularly the negative POVs.
