Two true comic geniuses, Stan and Ollie will always be with us via their films, to brighten up this otherwise miserable world. I was lucky enough to grow up in the 1970s, when Laurel and Hardy's films were shown regularly on TV, before the TV executives seemingly decided (very wrongly) that black and white stuff isn't worth showing. I will never stop watching Stan and Ollie, they truly are timeless.
Some of the few moments in my life I was happy was the time I spent watching the good-natured, kind-hearted and absolutely hilarious Stan and Ollie. RIP
My heros in life, and I’m 72, were the Stan & Ollie team and my chiropractor, who could relieve agony with a touch. If I had to reduce my life to a single memory I’d be 4 again, my grandfather and I, rolling with laughter at the antics of Stan and Ollie. They are all gone now but the memories live on.
Same. The closest I felt to my father when we watched Stan and Ollie together and rolled on the floor laughing. These were my dearest moments I had with my father. Thanks to Stan and Ollie they fused us together. I will never forget how much my father laughed about these. It was our utter favourite series in telly.
Special effects are amazing for that time period after he lights a match. Stanley goes up in the chair, Olive flies out the kitchen, the coffee table turns completely over, the vase flies out the window. I watched that scene many times over looking at different parts of the room. Great detail in that scene. Stan was brilliant.
Back in the early 70’s, Global TV used to show Laurel and Hardy movies on Friday nights. I was only 9-10 years old but watched them regularly and got to see their talent and genius. These movie clips is just an example of the art of comedy.
These two were my comedy heros growing up, and I am the proud owner of a 1946 signed photo of them both and a beautifully hand written letter by Stan Laurel..!!
Man I had a vhs tape with the top 6 best laurel & hardy episodes. I must’ve been 11 years old when I get that for Christmas and this episode in particular knocked me over laughing so hard. And 21 years later it’s still funny as hell.
The fact stan just carry ice without it melting and the fact he can make fire I think he's a super hero lol and how did he carry that water without making a "mess"
NON CI SARANNO MAI PIÙ COMICI IN QUESTO MONDO COME LORO.... FORSE TRA MILLE ANNI... INDIMENTICABILI E INSUPERABILI.... ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🌷🌷❤️😂😂😂😂😂😂😂❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🌷🌷🌷MAURO BERGAMO 64
I can't believe I got to meet Tommy Bond -- the kid --decades later in that he worked with the great Laurel and Hardy in this classic movie. It was an honor and resounds when I see this scene.
@@markuscamp8525 He was at one of those celebrity autograph signing events in 1997 and I even gave him a VHS copy of a Conan O' Brien appearance he was on that he missed seeing on TV when they did the Little Rascals movie in 1994. I told him I had taped it and sent him a copy of it. It was an honor meeting someone from the golden age of movies. He was sitting with Stymie's brother and Buckwheat's son .
They broke the mold with these two, we will never see their like again. 90 years since some if these films came out and they're still as funny as the day they were made absolutely hilarious.
This is a great scene,,for a big guy he can certainly move fast,,love the way Stan is like a kid their going to be a fight,,,the blind on the wall Stan pulls it it goes up Oliver tries it nothing🤣,,,how does he do this with the smoking that always makes me laugh,,,thank you guys you made the world a better place🤣🤣🤣
I remember watching an episode of Laurel & Hardy where Stan was looking out the window, the window came down on his head and he became an intellectual!Great episode!
Laugh, Laugh, Laugh! So Funny! Am in tears! Please put Stan Laurel & Oliver Hardy, back on the Television! Am sick of watching Repeats, & the Rubbish, what's on now! 🇬🇧
36 boring old farts To me you don't have a sense if you don't Laurel and Hardy funny they by far greatest comedy team i am 45 now and still they make me laugh i been a fan since i was young child. Used to watch them on BB2 in the 80's they use to really cheer me up when i was having a bad day Stan and Ollie simply best ever.
@@DavidJsmith-dk5tf I'm not from Great Britain so I don't remembeer those lovely L and H repeats on BBC2 you speak of. But I do know that Laurel and Hardy were once very in the UK.
Their timing feels real. It's hard to remember that they are actors telling a story. They are a great representation of Yin struggling with Yang. ☯️ Stanley's childlike curiosity gives me much to think about. Babe's immature responses and howls are hilarious.
They may be gone but not forgotten they brought laughter for generations here we are laughing hysterically god bless you guys thanks you made my weekend keep the laughs coming appreciate you guys thanks for a good laugh your legacy of laughter still continues on you guys rock thanks ! Joe
What I see in L & H is none of the cringing pathos common in Abbott and Costello and Martin and Lewis. The tormented sidekick common in both those comedy teams as Lewis and Costello were often put down or ridiculed by their partner and made to look a real fool... this was sometimes a product of the Hollywood scripting. In Laurel and Hardy, they were on level ground with both giving as good as they got, with clever interaction and no case of feeling sorry for a downtrodden sidekick. they were Crazy, often tempers flared, the slapstick was side splitting, and the humanity and determination of the partnership was wonderful. Off screen, they were the best of friends, and it shows in the sublime interaction of these two great comedians. I loved Martin and Lewis and Abbott and Costello and Crosby and Hope, but Stanley and Ollie set the standard. When the Movie of their last performances was recently released, I struggled to bring myself to watch it, but the Movie does them great justice. If anyone can love two characters from film, I have to say I love these two gentlemen, for all the joy they have brought, and in times when I was down, they could make me smile. There are many who don’t like this duo, and that is a matter of taste. Thank you Stan and Ollie, God bless you two.
I first came across Stan and Ollie in 1981 on a program called Laurel and Hardy's Laughtoons, which aired on WNEW 5 NYC(Now WNYW FOX 5).A year later WPIX NYC (The CW) showed the sound shorts.
The little boy played Butch on the Little Rascals. Stan gave Little Rascal Stymie his hat. I love these guys too. I've seen the recent movie Stan & Ollie maybe 4 times now and ball every time
The Laurel and Hardy films and The Little Rascals films were both made at Hal Roach Studios so they often shared the same actors and music. I love both Laurel and Hardy and The Little Rascals, I even love the 1994 Little Rascals movie. Stan and Ollie is great too.
BRILLIANT DUO!!!!! my late dad had the great fortune to meet these two & Abbot & Costello ( not at same time / day of course) when he was a younger man. I never found out how young my dad was when he met them. But, it was far long before i was even thought of. & sadly no pictures of my dad & these AWESOME!!!! four men either survived or was taken & protected. So, i only took my late dad's word for it. & being a young lad i was quite niave then & would be!ieve just about anything. I was only about 4yrs old ( i think!!!!) when i got told. I do wish there had been pictures of them & my dad together. 😟😟
There's a deleted scene where the father sends them to get that ball. The hotel receptionist gets hit on the head three times. I remember watching when it used to be aired on TV and now that extra scene has been cut.
Stan performed some of his"White Magic"..his sigh gags in this feature film..my favorite sigh gags..are..his taking a glass of water out of his pocket and putting ice cubes into it..and his smoking his pipe..which is really his clenched fist..with tobacco poured into it and lighting a slow burning match.
This person of color loves Laurel and Hardy ever since I was a kid growing up in England . They would show them on British t.v in the seventies. They are my boyhood comedy heros.Long Live STAN & Ollie.
Colin, I loved these guys too. I started watching them on 16mm sound at School on a friday evening. We were charged 6d (old money) Equivalent of 2.5p in todays money. Never stopped laughing at their films. Plenty of TV repeats from 1965, after Stan had died ! Great comedians. They continue to cheer me up today !
Hey I want to watch the devil's brother full episode of L and Hhow can I see it... I've already watched ages ago but that was on a film that's messed up
