Why I'm not buying the Sony ZV-E1... 

this is my comparison point im looking into this as a cheaper alternative for the SIII as the 4k 120 and the low light king sensor to go well with my a7R4 for high images and my A7iii all arounder

Does the USB-C port power the camera while it’s recording? Thought I read on the manual that the battery wouldn’t charge when it’s on so I never tried it😂

@@stsun1561 Almost, connected to a MacBook with 100% battery on the ZV-E1, after recording for 6.5 hours, the battery dropped to 83%, so it drains, but very slowly.

I have the A6400 too, but it has no IBIS so it’s not great for moving Video, so looking at a ZV-E1

@@anees888 Yes nonstop. I've found the aftermarket fans really work though. You can find one made for the ZVE1 for less than 50-60 dollars, on certain popular Asian discount websites. They allow you to film as long as your battery can stand at the cost of forcing you to leave your screen open.

Great thoughts. It definitely is a good camera that you can get great results with. Just not the right fit for me in this season!

​@@kraigpruettNow that I think of it, you do make sense. I'm not a vlogger. The only long form recording I do is wedding ceremonies and they usually don't even last an hour so my zve1 does fine and from a cinematic stand point the image quality and low light performance is unmatched and the fx30 and especially the zve10 can not compare to it, at all. So if ALL you do is vlog in a studio setting with adequate lighting, the zve10 is just fine and will save you tons of money. But if you do more than JUST vlogging the zve1 is a STEAL and an absolute bargain!

Then, which Sony camera would be best for videos longer than 1 hour without heating?

​@user-eo1gq5oo6n he said 45 min which is not necessarily the case if you don't do 4k 60 fps. Most people, like myself, will be doing 4k 24 fps most of the time, and the tests came out to be a bit over 2 hours before heating kicked in. So that said, for me it will be more than enough as I don't need to shoot longer than 2 hours at a time. I've a lot of prep to do for just 30 min so yeah. If you'll be doing an hour or two at 4k 24 fps you're fine with this camera. Other than that too answer your question, you can go with the fx3 which has the exact same sensor but has a fan so it'll last you. But, there was no mention that the fx3 does not have plenty of features like the AI recognition and auto focus/ tracking on them and other cool things. Another edge of the zve1 that the fx3 doesn't have that wasnt mentioned is the multi face recognition where if you have low aperture and working a bokeh (blurred background) and a second person enters your frame, your camera will adapt the focus and spread it out to them, which the fx3 again, won't let you do. Plus, if you want to spend 2000$ more just to be able to shoot upwards 2 hours a time, then yes. For me, ì want to make very planned out, artistic scenes that don't require huge hours.

I have the FX3, but I still think there is a place for some of these different camera bodies

​@@kraigpruettYea but make it clear long form video content can be shot in multiple takes. It all depends on how you shoot. I don't know many people who record 3 hours straight. People take breaks every hour or so and stop recording during that break lol

I would go for the FX30 personally... but it is very much a video camera. If you take more photographs, neither of those cameras are the best for taking pictures because of what they are designed to do.
