Great video guys… I’m stoked for you to get in to a new and more modern bike! I’m sure you’re going to love it and looking forward to the next bike reveal 🤙🏻
yea i rembered a time when i was using a 48t chainring on my bike for climbs, even tho I had lower gears (28t cahinring) I just didn't figure out what gear to use.
Thats so sick! i got more into mountain biking when I too demoed a real MTB! I have had a budget MTB ( a 3X8 19er hardtail from 8th grade) and stared to use it more on off road trails after I demoed that bike ( an SCW janus ). this was the summer before the pandemic. when lock down hit, my family and I could not go to the gym during winter so we took up mountain biking during the winter!
@@ridingwithjoshandwendy fit of the bike was number one. The small too small and I buzzed the tire too easily. Medium comfortable but not playful enough. Discount prices were on point too which was a bummer that I did not like the bike. I have had my 14 slash since day one. I love that bike it’s a playful toy and just wants to be thrown around and played with on every single ride. The new slash felt like a tank big planted and had one thing in mind that is down hill planted rides. This is just my take away. The remedy was basically the same bike I already own so that’s the bike I liked the best of the three trek bikes the new fuel, remedy, and slash. I still have not replaced my full suspension but did buy a new hardtail to add to the mix
@@ridingwithjoshandwendy I was hoping to love the bike. The 14 slash I bought was something special I knew the day I test road it that I had to own one.
some of the upgrades i did on my budget hardtail I got in 2018 ( upgrades I did in 2020 and so on was a dropper post, Magura sport trail brakes(2pot), nuke proof horizon rear wheel( biggest difference), longer carbon fiber handle bar (for 70cad), shortening the stem from 80mm to 60mm, some wider tirse front and rear I got from my dad when he was replacing his MTB's tires. and recently ( after 5 years of riding the bike) I ditched the tired 3x8 system with the stock acera shifters for a 1x12 deore drive train with a 9-50t atto cassete for 88cad and a deckas 40t oval chainring for 18cad from amazon! oh and tire inserts after I broke the stock rear wheel. oh also replacing the stock rst coil 100mm fork( in wich I ignored the yellow warning label and in doing so I broke the rubber bottom out) for a Manitou marchor wich I then increases the travel from 100mm to 120mm.
