Its two different countries and common travel agreement is valid only for EEA nationals and some national such as Chinese etc No one need to tell me google it you will see full info Just because you went there without valid visa that doesn't mean everyone can go without visa you just been lucky they didn't catch you

@srilankaninireland There is a common travel arrangement agreement signed by Ireland and UK.note the below extract from citizen.ie. "Common Travel Area rights can only be exercised by citizens of Ireland and the UK. If you are not a citizen of Ireland or the UK, you cannot exercise Common Travel Area rights.". Also as Ireland is EU and after Brexit UK is not, while EU nationals are allowed to travel to NI, they need a show passport to enter UK from NI. While this is not necessarily a Visa, UK can restrict the entry as well. Nevertheless, most of us ( on a student and Work Visa ) in Ireland has this misconception on NI entry and it's important you correct this mistake in a video. While you can pass through or enter NI , that doesn't mean you should and could. Recent days, Ireland has started spot checks on NI entry in both side due to high supposedly assylam seeks coming from UK. Hence while it's a possibility that you might have travelled past, it will not be the same in future.
