Please have a branch on the beaches of Odisha. Keep a track on the recent rise investment pouring into Odisha. It's GOA of the east of India. Would love to have them here. 🥂
@@thaidawg9231 hey, I use a mix of regular sugar, dextrose, glucose, honey and jaggery. You can stay but everyone must leave before 180 days, just to step foot outside of India then you can come back
Happy for an englishman to start a gelato business in india which is rare without local indian collab.I am glad it worked for him and gets the support he needs from tourists.
Lots of foreigner also coming India to start business one businessman from American (common man) opened Toy factory in Pune,Maharashtra he is my linkedin friend ,now their factory much profitable all toys exported to USA,Europe,Japan which whopping multiple% profit
@@RajKarma Imagine the scare the English must be having with thousands and thousands of Indian restaurants in UK.3000 plus in london itself. They mostly employ Indian staff too.Times have changed and so does mindset and Indian shouldnt be scared again of a Gelato east india company😄
Thanks for sharing this insightful video Alex. There's huge tourist population in Goa, so for a Foreigner, opening a hotel with a new cool menu might seem a good business idea. But bigger problem is to keep the hotel running, for which you need good staff. Incompetent or truant staff can actually damage your whole business. Imagine a restaurant that gets randomly closed on some days because of no waiters. Customers will stop. Nathan took a risk. Maybe he should hire & train some local guys who'll actually stick around. Wishing Nathan good luck 👍
Actually Labour run away from u paid salary which is underpaid of someone nearby hotel offering salary 20k then u should give pretty hike so he can resign from ur hotel and business in India too much profitable and good but only problem is that don't expect business wil run like Metro within 1 month or within 1 year ,a successful business atleast need 2yr this is my experience
Really interesting. I know you have already left India. But there is one restaurant called 'Ourem88' in Canacona near Palolem beach which is run by a English couple seasonally, i.e. the couple run the place during Oct to Mar and then spend Apr to Sep back in England. It's mostly western food like Souffle, steak, pudding etc, very very delicious, a must go when in Canacona. They are doing it since more than a decade now. I will definitely chack out Nathan's place the next time I'm at Palolem beach. Would have also loved to hear why did he left home to be in Goa. Nonetheless loved the video.
Thank you Apad! Hopefully other viewers can check out ypur recommendation. I think he's been visiting India annually for a long time and really liked the place.
This is interesting Alex it's not everyday that you see a foreigner have a business in another country. Not an easy thing to do 🆒👍 Gelato yummy good business to start
I am from goa but live in London . I am sure to visit this place next time when I am down in Goa. You have done a great video Alex. Really appreciate. Please keep up the good work. Blessings to you.
Only thing he needs is one indian youtuber of decent fan base and it's gonna blow up ... Indians love to help . ... But don't force it let it be natural.
Very interesting video. I love India & especially Goa... Running a business there must be so much fun, I'm sure it's challenging but must be rewarding.
The video caught my attention straight away. I had always thought about foreigners opening businesses in India would be cool. Just as Indians own most dairies and liqour stores in other countries lol Typical. Foreigners working in IT companies in India isn't uncommon but I thought it would be nice to have the same in other businesess. Just like how Indians brings good value to other countries we can do a lot with other cultures. Nathan seems to be a nice hard working guy who would succeed anywhere he goes. He has right attitude and positivity. Success will come your way naturally as you live longer in India. PS - Indians are quite emotional. You need to connect with the employees like a family rather than in a boss-employee relation. Good workers will not leave you forever. I can only share this video for now as I live overseas but I have got your address if I pass by.
Who would of thought and Englishman moves to India to start a business , well that has never happened before ! Any he seems like a cool guy, however he has opened a business in Goa which is the least like Indian state in India, he would find it challenging outside of Goa and maybe a few metro cities. Anyway, it is very interesting to see this as it gives me encouragement to do something similar. Europe is becoming un-bearable.
What the hell are you talking about, that it has never happened before. Have you not heard how India got colonized, in the first place ! East India Company ring any bell ! I don't like the fact that he takes cash only & does not have an Indian bank accout, which means he probably don't pay tax either, can manupulate earnings that making it a black money & drains that wealth back to England just what their ancestors did for 200 years.
@@sirianstarseed9309 so you missed the exclamation mark making it a statement of irony. His just taking cash is a good valid point, however I do not have enough information to make any judgement on tax evasion etc. There are many many Indians in England who run businesses and take cash only. Also you need to stop blaming people today for what happened 200 years ago. Things have changed. India has great ties with USA and UK which by the way sent military support to Pakistan, however if it was not for the Russian warships things would be different. My point is the world changes and it is not in our control. You should be pleased that India in 70 years is now becoming a better place than the West.
@@aryan6536 First, Indian economy is digitalized unlike in UK. And our PM did it to minimize black money. Most Indians prefer Digital payment. Secondly, You said don't blame people today, do you know how proud these very people feel about their past. Even when you tell the atrocities their ancestors conducted on us, they will say something along the lines like "you deserved it" " you needed to be civilised" " We gave you railways" etc etc .. Some abusive narcissistic full of self kind of reply with no remorse but pure entitlement. Even today they are made up of the same designs as Churchill their hero, they are extremely(unbelievably) racist people. You know a female white cop in the UK admitted to me that she was not helping me because i was Indian on my face in a police station. And "bloody Indian" was a common thing i used to hear in buses from school boys while on my way to uni & back. Once a bus driver intentionally squeezed my feet in his automatic bus door for no reason at all and then he was smiling nastily. No need to be so nice to those who make it so difficult for you. It's because of these reasons i discontinued my studies as i couldn't handle so much abuse being in clinical depression already.
@@sirianstarseed9309 You will always get that from the West! Just look how they took over Americas, Australias etc. however that is the way it is , just as well India was strong enough to kick them out. Now I hope Modi or any other future govt does not give back control in the name of globalisation. India already requires our UK tax code etc.
Very inspiring story! Thank you for sharing it brother. As someone who has done that before I can relate with him 💯! For him for having taken the courage to go for his dreams! Well done to both of you! ⭐️👏😎
Seems like operating a business is hard no matter what country you are in. Yes staffing would always be the difficult part since turnover is to be expected and sometimes staff members can’t be fully reliable since they have their own lives too.
Foreigners will always with great respect and lifestyle in India especially westerners, Indian are very curious/happy to see a westerner do bossiness in India. Hope to see more foreigners dispora in India
Go to any remote village, buy an acre farm it with free electricity, you will enjoy yield with in 3 months of farming rotate different corps every three months.
I'll be in Thailand in February, staying in Asia for 8 months, and am also looking to visit India for food experiences. Wish him well and will stop by...any other recommended cities in India for the best food and culture?
I've shared a few in my travels. I'm sure there are many Indians that are far more qualified than I that could recommend it. I di wish I visited Hyderabad though!
If you come to bangalore and mysore, do not miss out on the following. When you in south india be sure to try authentic south indian food as you can anyway try north indian food in north india which is always more delicious than what is available in south. What I am suggesting is pure vegetarian. Some nonvegetarian may reply to you for those food. In bangalore do not miss, VV puram chat street there are atleast 200 food varieties available there so make it a evening food vaganza, do not miss Vidyarthi bhavan dosas at any cost, go out for a lunch to MTR and have filter coffee all the time. In mysore, do not miss out on vinayaka mylari dosas, have filter coffee all the time. Try having absolute south indian food experience when you are in south. I can recommend vegetarian food in almost all other major cities but dont want to crowd it out here so have only mentioned about the cities where I live.
Come to Maharashtra world Heritage Verul Leni, ajintha ( which is miracle of architecture which is located in Sambhajinagar , Maharashtra),Matheran,Bhandardara, Mahabaleshwar, Their lots of travels spot during Pune-Mumbai Highway, pandharpur during ashad month(u will definitely suprise by seeing culture of Varkari community),Harihar Fort(only for adventure person not for kids),Uti(for Scenery),Assam(climate ❤️),Shimla🥶🥶(❤️), Rajsthan 🏜️,Katch Gujrat, Many places ❤️❤️ which still in my bucket list ❤️❤️
well hope one day i wish he would have multi chain restaurants like kfc , mcDonalds ... in india few startup grows to 6000 crore companies like mba chaiwala , samosa king , burger singh , cafe coffee day . they also started from same level best of luck
Indian government should set rules like the developed countries and give some incentives to foreigners who want to set up shop in India and gives employment to the locals!
Honestly, I have not seen a shop run by foreigners here. Glad that I got to know its possible. Guess he must be on a collab with an Indian? Because I know that the policies dont allow a foreigner to put a literal shop like this which serves end customers.
@@Livingabroadalex , India is a world, I travelled to many places, there are more than 600 hundred thousand towns and villages in India no where in the world this exists, China has more too, but with less density, India is much more than China.
Great that Nathan chose to come here and start his business. Wish you great success and wellbeing. But go slow on the vegan stuff, as very few Indians are vegan, unless you cater to the large tourist croud who visit Goa.
Hi there, may I ask how visa wise. I've thought of living here but we Australians can only stay 180 days then have to leave for 60 and so on and so on. Maybe I should meet some hot Rajasthani babe 🤣
@@Livingabroadalex l opened my Paytm bank account within 8 hours without even going to any Paytm centre. I just had a video call with a Paytm employee. That's all.
Guesstimates by experts are that 7 million foreigners have moved to India for various reasons, apart from the illegal Bangladeshis or the free to move in Nepalis.
I have met many English citizens of different parts of the world .....first thing they wd say iam British but born here ..some sort of a regret that they carry a diff passport. Tourist is always a tourist .I doubt any indian having a comfortable life overseas will ever ever come back to India....
For Efficient working staff u need Indian manager 🤣 because staff don't take seriously if ur handling them 🤣 just advice hire a good manager he will manage everything automate ur business
Not true, unless you know the system and how to play it, there are many challenging aspects for foreingers to start a business. Just as an example, try registering a company and opening a business bank account. This can be done in an hour in UK , not so much in India! I know I have tried to move there and start a business.
Greetings from Mumbai-India I have been in business -based in Mumbai since 1986 & have 13 business verticals with one being a PE firm since 1999. It really is funny to hear of local corruption but that figures if you are not set up with proper immigration in the 1st place & illegal Israeli folk in Goa are increasingly becoming a ISSUE & I say this in spite of being a Indian Jew since my birth in India
@@Livingabroadalexcompany ruled India. Its the reason foreign business were basically banned for almost 50 years. Got big history related to Indian Freedom struggle
The key difference is thst this Britisher asks permission of the Indian government, employs and pays local staff and pays duties and taxes to the state and central government so not quite the same thing 🙄
