I am 48 years old and agree with the community feel here- in all age groups. People are very friendly here.

Wow this came at a great time for me, thanks for sharing! My spouse and I are also moving back to CO. Originally from the Western Slope and also spent the last 7ish years moving around. You're right about the dog friendliness, especially around renting. Coming back to CO now, we found an apartment complex with no weight or BREED restriction....it blew my mind. We decided to do the same as you guys and get a feel for the area first before we buy yet another house. We are looking at probably Loveland but haven't ruled out the Springs yet. I've been worried that the friendliness was something I didn't remember accurately, because there are certainly pretentious people in CO, but glad to hear that's still in the pro category!

I have lived in Texas, Delaware, New Jersey, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Florida and now Colorado (Springs!). 😂 I’ve been around. First few were because of the military, but most of the moves were because of work. Recently, I was able to go fully remote - so we decided to relocate to the Springs. When we lived in Florida - we certainly felt the “urban isolation” - we lived in Orlando for 8 years before meeting our neighbors. My only “friends” were ones I met at work, so when COVID happened, that really sucked. Since moving to the Springs, we have been more outgoing trying to meet folks.

Oh, you moved to TX in the summer? Ouch! So hot. I live here now and we are considering moving to CO because of the weather and we want more exposure hiking/nature for our kid

What is the reclaimed mountain biking area going to be called? (where the mine was)

It’s supposed to be called pike view park but as of now it’s not 100% solidified. Looks like the reclaiming process has to fully finish first before they get the green light to start building. pikeview.org/bike-park/

Is there a pet leash law there and do people abid by it?
@LivingInCOSpringsColorado
@LivingInCOSpringsColorado 16 дней назад
There is. You're supposed to have your pet on a leash in public, aside from dog parks. People abide by it i'd say 80% of the time.

We lived in Colorado for 15 years after the military sent us there. Decided to go back to TX to be near family (and we are native to TX). We lasted 2 years and are now going back to Colorado. Texas offers much of nothing without having to drive 10+ hours. We miss the outdoor lifestyle of Colorado and people in Colorado are far nicer than the fakey fake here in Texas. And Texas is far more expensive to live than Colorado which most people don't understand.
