When I became a minimalist, the first thing I did was purge the majority of the colors I wear. Now, the majority of my clothing is now black, white , dark gray, and a stone/cream. Purple is the only exception if I have to wear a color of some sort. Great video. Neutrals are the way to go.

I think color works for people who can dress or people who love fashion. If you don't know about color theory or if you hate clothes in general and just wanna be out the door then Neutral colors are totally a viable option!
Well said. Which boat do you fall in? Funnily enough, many designers I follow keep their outfits simple which I believe helps them be more creative in their work whether that be graphics, interior, or product design
To each their own! It sounds like you have a massive closet. I look similar every day, but know I feel and look damn good every day. Life’s full of things in addition to how one looks 🤙🏼
I’m quite lucky that we have uniforms for work so that’s five days of not thinking about what to wear already! Also, I’ve gone neutral on my going out clothes, too. Shopping’s easier and it takes me less than a minute to think of what I could wear. I think the only non-neutral shirts I have are my dark red polo shirt and my green university shirt 😂
Having a uniform is awesome! Does that mean your students also wear a uniform as well? One side argues it takes away from self-expression while the other argues the benefits outlined + less bullying in schools
Sean Lei - Money & Minimalism Yes, our students have uniforms, too. However, once they move up to Grades 11 & 12, they’re now allowed to wear anything as long as it doesn’t violate the school’s dress code 😂

I work at Nike and my uniform is to wear anything as long as the majority of the clothing piece is black. It’s honestly a god send being able to throw on anything in less than five minutes
Sean Lei - Money & Minimalism we are required to wear Nike branded clothing! Shoes can be whatever color we want as well. Thing is though that I don’t like to wear large logos belive it or not most of the time 😅 so I usually rotate within plain black tees with no nike branding logo except for a small Swoosh on the chest or plain running pants with a small swoosh as well. All my shoe are generally earth tones as well.
@@alejandrojesus2767 Hard to avoid the Nike logo when you wear their apparel haha. For me as well, my clothes typically don't have any logos, but I've come to accept that my nike shoes will always have the swoosh which I don't mind!
I have decided to do a different take. I have two styles I enjoy. One has all the blacks grays and navy while the other has nice light blrowns, sky blues and nudes . And I buy clothes only if it. Fits either of those color pallets. Also black and navy is perfectly fine.
I like your approach Fausto! One neutral and one earthy. What occasions are the different color palettes for? Might just have to try Blavy outfits again lol
i love neurtrals except black because i dont have broad shoulders black makes it worse, i have other choices like burgundy/maroon and a salmon pink tee all of them doesnt have logos, and im also not a fan of bright colors,salmon pink is like a faded light pink
@@SeanLei 🙂 I have anxiety so I like being able to match my clothes easily/fast in the morning and also not have bright colours distracting my eyes lol and also cause black shows stains less and can wash them all together!
A fashion rule that’s stuck with me since I was little! Sometimes they’re so close in shade it’s hard to tell them apart. But if the two are distinct then it works 👌🏼
@@SeanLei I live in uk so we have same 4 seasons but it mostly rains very unpredictable. When you mention the uniform part do you mean only button up shirts?
@@steve00alt70 pre-quarantine is was a black polo + black jeans, nowadays it’s a black t-shirt + black jeans. Haven’t dressed up in a loooong time haha
