Having you as our wedding photographer was one of the best decisions we made for our day. Our photos, especially the film ones, are some of our favorite memories. Thanks for everything, Sean!

Sean captured our wedding perfectly this past April in Vegas. We received both film and digital pictures in our gallery. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience, or for better photos 🥹 Our pictures were amazing and Sean is a really cool guy who takes really cool pictures!!!

Used the pentax 654 system for weddings for years, solid camera and lenses. Advice, pick up a Nikon 8008s auto film advance and auto focus and super solid!!!!

So with your point and shoot cameras, no pictures get edited then? Just raw in the moment pics? What’s the most amount of cameras you’ve carried on your body at once? Lol
@SeanJorgensen
@SeanJorgensen 3 месяца назад
I don't edit any of my film-SLR or point and shoot. Unless its something super major, like a piece of trash or someone walking in the frame. The most i've carried on me at one time is probably like 6 cameras haha.

Why even use the Nikon EM? Throw it out abd get an F50 or an F90. Its fine to suffer for your art but not when a oaying client us involved.

Cool to hear you use strictly film for your weddings. I am strictly a film photographer. Never went into digital. I take photos at my friends weddings but as a guest/photographer because they have their own they hired ,. I have noticed that wedding photographers dress like slobs. Back in the day they wore tuxedos.
@SeanJorgensen
@SeanJorgensen 2 месяца назад
Thats awesome, whats your favorite film stock? Also idk about the slobs part but why would anyone shoot a wedding in a tux? We're vendors providing a service at the end of the day. We're there in the elements, with gear, bending down, on our feet for hours on end lugging lenses, batteries etc, so sorry but function is going to take presidence over looking sharp.
@thevoiceman6192
@thevoiceman6192 2 месяца назад
@@SeanJorgensen So looking like a slob is ok ? You don't have to dress in a tux but be presentable. My favorite film stock is Kodak ektar. I love saturated film. Now that superia xtra was discontinued and Fuji film is made in the usa by kodak. It seems Ektar is my only go to for saturated film. I use it for everything but schoot my work strictly outdoors so.
@SeanJorgensen

@@thevoiceman6192 i never said dressing like a slob is okay, however i'm just saying you dont need to dress in a tux or anything over the top. All blacks and supportive shoes should be just fine. Were also not the star of the show so let the couple shine and standout.

@@thevoiceman6192 yeah you feel me. there can be a balance in the middle. ektar is nice but its not a film i shoot too often and i agree about the superia. i was late to the game, i had a few rolls sitting for years, shot it and was like wow this is amazing. then i find out its discontinued h ahahh . I actually have been meaning to record a video about fuji film.

Why? Why don't you get that light meter fixed? Why don't you use nice AF SLRs like a Canon EOS 3 or Elan 7 or whatever the Nikon equivalent would be? Why don't you get an external light meter? Sounds to me like your broken camera and the difficulties to quickly focus manually results in worse photos for your clients. Are you convinced, shooting with broken gear will improve your abilities so much that after all, the photos will still be better? Do you clients know? Don't they care? Or is this an ironic video, a prody, and I just didn't get it?
@SeanJorgensen
@SeanJorgensen 3 месяца назад
I do have light meters that work in cameras, I was giving one example of one that off so I need to make adjustments accordingly. My work speaks for itself, sorry you happen to disagree.
@OriginalTLab3000
@OriginalTLab3000 3 месяца назад
@@SeanJorgensen Oh, no, no need to be sorry! I don't know your work and I've only seen this video, so I could neither agree nor disagree with your work. Although some of the photos you've shown are IMHO bad, but they were examples of what happens when you can't focus quickly enough. In the end, the customer desides. I guess, my problem would be - if I worked like that or if I was a client - that I'd constantly ask myself "Couldn't the photos be better?" - for example with an AF camera. Looking at the photo at 4:20 for example, I'd really be mad at myself if that was mine. But I don't know whether you have 5 shots of the scene and you just took the worst one as an example. I have out of focus wedding photos, of course... just remembering a really horrible series right now, that fortunately only was shot with the stationary backup cam.... But I gave it my best and I'm okay with that, though still slightly annoyed 20 years later... If I had brought a camera that might have been defective, I woulnd' have forgiven myself. Anyway, back to the question: Obviously, it is safe to assume that you're convinced, shooting with sub par gear gives you advantages that compensate or make you even better. But let me put it the other way around: Do you think your results would get worse, if you took two Nikon F5 or F6 in perfect condition? And wouldn't that be a lot less stressful? Never having to worry that several cameras might malfunction? (You mentioned that most of your cameras have quirks.) And not having to bring 6 cameras?
@SeanJorgensen
@SeanJorgensen 3 месяца назад
@@OriginalTLab3000 My arsenal of gear is more than capable. Pentax 645, Contax T2, Canon EF, Minolta hi-matic etc. In regards to the out of focus ones, thats just the nature of the beast. Even newer fully advanced mirroless cameras miss focus at times. Also not every photo being completely perfect is part of the charm of an outdated medium. I also bring multiple cameras as I explain.... since I have multiple films in various cameras-not just for the sake of certain ones possibly malfunctioning.
@OriginalTLab3000
@OriginalTLab3000 3 месяца назад
@@SeanJorgensen Well, that's excellent! Maybe I've just focused on the wrong part of the video. You got me worried when you said that all the cameras have things that work and don't work and the like. But I think I know what you mean, now. Outdated medium...🙄 I never shot anything else but film 🤣 Just getting back into photography and my first job is digital. Kinda scary, just having 13 year old gear on loan. Fortunately, I have three months for two photos. Anyway, good luck! And thanks for the video!

@@SeanJorgensen I do really like many of those photos and have no doubts about your capabilities. Just thinking of about the Nikon, would it not be nice though just to get it fixed so it works as it should again? since there are quite a few techs working on those old Nikons. You obviously get the job done regardless and work around it so it's for convenience sake of course.
