Courtesy of Rick Beato, I embraced the Hyper Slinky (8-42) recently - never looking back. Light gauge strings are underrated these days, imo.

Yeah, I change my mind a lot though. I might even switch back to the 10-52s for my ESP just because the C# Standard Tuning sounds so gnarly.
