It's probably worth mentioning, that when you lay back, you don't inhale those toxic fumes that were generated during soldering. I know you guys are using some kind of ventillations, but still, it's a big advantage for someone who does this during the whole day.

Yep, fume extractors help but they can't get all of it. Plus the added benefit that you're not hunched over squinting into a scope all day does wonders for your neck and back and lowers eyestrain.

Honestly, i bought a cheap otg microscope at ebay and connected to my phone and place to a comfortable position like your posture @Mr. Alex and i got used to it after 3 hrs of practicing micro soldering its not the best microscope but it serve its purpose. Maybe im used to playing vr-gaming , because the feeling is so much alike cause the brain is detached from the physical hand,

The problem with stereomicroscopes is that it takes a while to fine tune your setup (chair/desk/microscope height ... etc) Once you have the right setup and are used working with them they are WAY better than any camera microscope.

Not for everyone they are not. It's not a one size fits all. Some people just can't get used to stereo scopes, or have unusual eye prescription for example.

Another advantage of using the camera over the eye piece is that chances of the technician inhaling flux and solder fumes is less.

I solder all day with a microscope and it absolutely does strain my back and neck. I actually get very exhausted by the end of the day from it. I’ve tried using the camera to my monitor as well and it’s difficult for me because I’m so used to the microscope. Maybe I’ll try it for a week just to see how it goes, self diagnostics lol.

Haha I forgot about this. I did try using only my monitor but after about an hour I couldn’t take it anymore. I’ve gotten way to used to looking into my scope to work. I’ve even put back my rubber eye cups to focus better. For some it’ll work out but for me I prefer looking into my scope eyepiece.

pick a correct pinset with comfortable weight and length on your hand and practice your hand on surface to hold the weight of your hand to avoid wobbles. I did practice like that. and it works for me

A single lens takes away depth perception so the stereo microscope does have some advantaged but I must agree, using a stereo microscope does give neck strain and I wake up with a headache because of it.

Hi Johny thinking to buy the same microscope, but I don't know which stand to buy, you got it already, is the camera autofocus or manual focus? are you using the amscope or other stand?

@@alrepairs777 first and foremost let me just say after having it for all these months, that it’s worth it. Yes it’s a little pricey, but considering it’ll last you years, it’s amazing and the quality is just as amazing. It is a manual focus and I use the same stand that Alex uses (the AmScope one), I did use a different stand beforehand but it was terrible so I just went all out and got the AmScope one and man it really all is an amazing bundle, good luck bro!

I love your videos, I like them a lot and I will start now here in Portugal, and I will buy a cheaper micro. In the future if things go well, I will think of one just like yours and buy from your store. In this case I am starting by trying to recover a board from a pioneer receiver, desoldering some DTS audio chips..... Thanks for all your explanations, good videos, and all the best to you there. Just got a stereoscope for removing wood slivers. I could not afford one with a camera. for long hours I believe your method should be standard. Posture is everything for a healthy life. Luckily I just do hobby work with jewelry and engraving a few hours a day. I would most certainly do this if I were at work.... a no Brainer for me.

That's explain the problem with my neck and back.......There are some advantages and dissadvantages using camera and the microscope itself. On the stereo microscope you can see crystal clear image and the screen will never show the same as the real picture. But if i think my back pain i better do the same soon before its too late.

The advantage of a stereomicroscope is the perception of depth, which is simply not possible with a lens. Apparently the property of depth perception is not decisive, is it?

I’ve got trinocular microscope and a c mount microscope, bought both at the same time, actuality’s it was birthday present so I never bought them, I tried the camera and I can’t do it looking at a screen

Would this camera work with any of the other amscope stands. I'd rather prefer one with a base that sits on the desk as to one with an articulating arm that clamps to the side of the desk.

How long does the flux syringe usually last? New to soldering

Depends on how much soldering you do and how much flux you use. For an average hobbyist 10ml of flux will last months if not years. You really don't need to use a lot. Those globs you see him put on? They're about the size of a grain of rice going up to maybe the size of a pea maximum. Although with someone inexperienced with soldering I usually say err on the side of using too much flux as opposed to using too little. Too much flux just means you have a bigger cloud of fumes and a bigger mess to clean when done, too little and you have trouble with getting the solder to flow and wet your tip and parts nicely and making the job more difficult.

thank you for this possitive review.. the is one of the thing people would learn at this time... binocular = old days digital microscope + the strategy of how to properly use them = modern days if you don't adapt to modern days you will be left behind 9:36 of the video, COMFORT... I can now justify the good things of using digital microscope because of this video.. thank you so much again and God bless you master!
