I've said it before and i'll say it again. You can never quit cubing, only take a break that feels like quitting before eventually coming back. Keep it up king
This was cool. Life has a funny way of reminding us that people and relationships are the most important things. All the best with (the continuation of) your cubing journey!
I remember at my first comp I saw you get the 1.56 on skewb and the 5.71 on 3x3, and after finding your RU-vid channel, I was so impressed with your times in all your events. You really inspired me to keep practicing when I was starting out, and I even bought your main 3x3 so I could be just like you. You’re one of the biggest reasons I’m still cubing today, so I’m actually so happy to have you back. Hope to see you at a comp sometime soon!
hey dude you're not alone. although not as "important", i went to heartland champs with heartland squan champ as a goal, as i grinded it for ~7 years prior, always wanting to be a champion. i got 9 (good fists 💀), 7, 6, 6, then mistraced and got a 14, with sub 7 bpa. i was heartbroken and lost by .04, and genuinely wanted to quit, but i kept going because i loved my friends. the next comp i was reluctant to go but, similar to you, realized that the community was amazing and haven't wanted to quit since. i also +2'd out of 6.60 WR23 a week ago but whatever it is what it is 😔
There are times I feel super burnt out on cubing. I don't want to do it anymore and I don't enjoy competing like I used to, but seeing lifelong friends and hanging out with them is what makes it worth it. Great video!
I’m sorry that that happened and that you weren’t able to have fun with cubing for a while, I definitely have had my fair share of burn out. I’m glad you are starting to have more fun cubing now, good luck moving forward Darren, I hope when you have the chance to full commit again you pull off something amazing. Good Luck!
Why let titles let you forget what you started it for. Ive learned in my life that lables are a evil thing. Its very black and white, either good or bad. But remember there's always a inbetween. Life is also about failures and learning from them. So take this as a learning moment to learn get stronger.
