There are many reasons why I stopped wearing wigs. One of the main reasons is that God spoke to me and told me that I needed to learn to love myself. I should stop wearing wigs because I had become addicted to them.
It’s important to love and care for your natural hair and it can be a journey, but it can be incredibly rewarding.
In addition to feeling good about your hair, embracing your natural hair can be empowering. It's a way to celebrate your unique identity and resist societal pressures to conform to a certain standard of beauty.
By loving and accepting your natural hair, you're sending a message to yourself and others that you are proud of who you are, just how you are.

You look prettier with your hair. Many blk women look older with wigs. However the keyword is freedom. 10 years natural … I started at 24… never looked back. It’s indeed freedom!

Your hair looks wonderful. No, I have never really been addicted to wigs or too much make up. But I do enjoy wearing that here and there. Lately, I’ve been keeping my hair in braids, just because I’m lazy. I like my natural hair; it’s just a Battle sometimes, to deal with it. Lol.

2017, God dealt with me also. I wouldn’t go a day without makeup, weaves, extensions and relaxers. The relaxers caused my hair to be very thin. I’ve been natural every since, and now my hair is thick, long, and past my shoulder blades. You’re right, the hardest part, was when I did a big chop, cut out all the relaxer, and had really short hair. I’ve only worn makeup or extensions a couple times throughout the years. I’m extremely beautiful, long hair, with great skin, and it’s all because of God! 🙏🏽❤️

Black women stopped creating their own hair styles in the 1980's after they started depending on wigs and extensions. Their hairstyles are now based on those of Asian and white women.

Your natural hair is beautiful. When your microlocks grow long you'll be happy you made this decision to wear your natural hair. It is very difficult for us to accept ourselves with short natural hair, but as long as we look after it and nourish our bodies- it will only be for a short season.

I've been wearing crochet braids back to back for the last few years. My hair grew a lot, but I also experienced some hair loss along my scalp. I took them out last week and decided that I needed to get comfortable wearing my hair without them. I went into work with my mini afro and got a lot of compliments. It felt so freeing and my confidence had boosted.

Your natural hair looks beautiful. Like how honest this video is. The truth is that we have to spend time learning more about ourselves and learning to love our God given features. Extensions and wigs allow for versatility and are convenient. It is so true that people tend to give more compliment to lengthy hair but my encouragement is that as we look in the mirror and let us not look for faults with our hair but admire the curls and feature that make us God's unique creation. Great video.
