Why I Regret Getting Maine Coon cats 😩 The Truth ✨ 

Came to the comments hoping somebody else was talking about their love of water. 😁 I can't keep mine out of the tub, the sink, the water dish, the rain, etc. It's cute, but she's always a mess and there's water on my floor.

I swear my old cat was part Maine Coon. He didn’t have the long fur (looked exactly like a Russian Blue), but he had the size and length of a Maine Coon. He could put his chin on the table and watch you eat. And we had to allot time in the morning for him to invade our shower! He had bath toys too, but the showers were the kicker. And he’d get so excited after a shower with my roommate that he’d have to show me how wet he was. He’d jump on the bed and demand pets. Curl up under the comforter soaking wet.

I also had a Maine coon and my died about a month before yours did October 9th I’m not sure how old he was because he was already in adult when I got him but I had him for 10 years so he could’ve been 15 or 16 years old for all I know if not older I know how it feels to lose a pet I’m sorry

So actually, at least my Maine Coon, doesn't shed that much. We have to brush him often during shedding season because of that though. He doesn't like being brushed.

Mine do. I have two Maine Coon sisters. Thank God for Litter Robot and Robot vacuums. Some jobs, the robots can have.

I had a MC mix...he mostly "chirped" when he wanted to announce his presence, greet me as I came home, wake me up at dawn, etc. He loved lying across my shoulders - he'd do it for an hour at a time. He got cancer and died at age 13. I miss my shoulder kitty.

My husband has this way of finding the perfect cat rescues. (We used to rescue cats in Mexico when we lived there). He took in a Maine Coone kitten when someone was gonna dump him, with out knowing it's breed. My mom has 2 so I was like Maine Coone! We kept him and a deaf white cat and 1 that looked like a werewolf kitten but she was just very sick (the mites were terrible). their such precious babes.

@@SaintShion My neighbor had a deaf cat. It was white with different colored eyes-1 blkue and 1 brown. He said white cats with bi-colored eyes are always deaf. She could never go outside because of the traffic, but he made sure to keep her entertained with toys and laser beams.

@@trevino73 Yeah i’d say they shed a pretty good amount. You have to brush them frequently or they get matt’s in their fur, because they have i think 2 or 3 layers of fur so it gets matted up a lot. and i don’t know about dogs because i have no dogs but they are very good with my other cat we had before them, and very friendly with each other so im sure they’d be pretty good with other pets :)

The sad thing is that if she's really friendly around human strangers, even around her children, there's a good chance she had a previous owner at one point. If that were true, it's even better she was saved as she might not have any outdoor survival skills depending on how she was raised. Kudos to your uncle.

There is food that you can feed your cat that helps with human allergies. It's made from eggs that come from chickens regularly exposed to cats. The chickens build up antibodies for the proteins that cause cat dander allergies.

She highly intellectual a Maine Coons is highly playful into adulthood affection likes water(bath) affectionate natural hunters gets along with babies children other cats dogs plus elderly elderly! I once made an obstacle course in my room Oreo did exactly what I had done without any training! Side note a Maine Coon cat could be taught to walk with a leash! My Son always use to say I don't know after I had asked Him a question! One day we both heard Oreo say I don't know after I had asked Her what are you doing? 😂❤ I Love my Maine Coon cat Oreo! ❤❤

Mine lived to 27, and got hit by a car last year. He'd been very healthy and happy right up until the last few weeks when he suddenly got very "old" and frail... we genuinely think he may have done it intentionally as he lived by that busy road for years and never went anywhere near it (as mad as that sounds). They're the best breed though!

I also had a Wolfgang coon kitty ...he was a giant fur ball of pure love. I have always had MC kitties and also was involve in Maine Coon rescue for over 40 years. I miss everyone of them. I lost my last MC, Sidney 5 years ago now and I just can't ever go through that loss again.

We have a half Maine Coon as well, but I sometimes doubt whether he is at all because he’s only about 10lbs. He has the ear and paw tufts and a slightly toned down version of the facial features, but none of the size.

Mine was a stray that someone tossed out in the apt complex I lived in years ago. I kept hearing a cat crying over the summer but could never see it until one day he was on the stoop across the parking lot from me, I called and he came running and I fed him. A few days later a woman came up, she seemed nice & we talked, but she denied knowing who he belonged to and said it looked like he was mine now. Over the next few days I realized her husband was quite a mean person, so I figured the cat was hers but the husband got rid of it and she’d been feeding him on the sly. So I took him in and to the vets for shots & a check-up. My other cat accepted him right off and were buddies until my older, original cat died a few years later. My Main Coon grieved for months, looking for his buddy but finally accepted/forgot him. Now I’m his center/mom. He has certain purrs for specific wants, if he’s hungry his purr is LOUD and obnoxious, if he wants to snuggle then not as loud and full of little purr/chirps. 🥰 He’s such a sweetie. If I change rooms he follows, even if he’s sleeping he’ll get up. If I go outside even for a minute, he needs to be greeted upon my return. 😂 Wish I could clone him.

Ditto. I have a Maine Coon mix. He’ll stop for pets when he comes in, before he goes for his food but otherwise he’s not very affectionate. He will flop down next to me on the couch but only for a short few minutes. He squeaks, no meows ever. During the summer, when it was really hot, he lost his long hair and looked like an American shorthair breed. But now it’s cool so all his long hair, fluffy tail and neck muff are back. Oh, and he’s afraid of almost everything! ❤️😎🐈‍⬛

@@kermittheconqueror8554 Average is 18 years but cats can live into their 20s. My Maine Coon reached 18 years old. She sadly passed away in her sleep. That was in 2016. I miss her dearly. I literally grew up with that cat as I had had her since I was five years old. Rest in peace Sassy.
