I've been skiing in Austria, and like you, I fell over a lot, injured myself, but still enjoyed it. I totally understand what you mean about the mountains and the camera not doing it justice. I remember just looking at them everyday I was there, thinking how magnificent they were.

Awww Joe, I understand the struggle!! I fell at least over 200 times during the first few times I snowboarded, it honestly gets better!! Try practicing heel to toe/toe to heel transitions more before you make full on turns, it'll teach you how to not fall as much. It's part of the process mate, you can do it!!!

liam p The goggles aren't just for the sun and you definitely need them in those conditions. Its harder to see and the goggles make it both easier and safer for 1) in case you fall your eyes are protected and 2) its more the brightness of the snow that damages your eyes not so much the sun.

Yeah I know, Personally I would wear them I just wouldn't be concerned if someone else wasn't. Also although its not about the sun per say but it is when the sun bounces of the snow.
