Your reasoning is perfectly sound. I've never particularly warmed to my EOS R and usually revert to one of my DSLRs or the E-M1X, but I've no intention of parting with any of my equipment. I do however ultimately find the images from full frame markedly better, unless it's sunny daylight, but to each his own. A word of advice: don't shoot at f/11 on micro four thirds unless you're deliberately aiming for a slow exposure. You know all about equivalence I'm sure, but in any case not one of the lenses by OM or Panasonic function at their best beyond f/5.6. Diffraction has often set in even before that. But anyway, I hope you go on enjoying your photography and it looks as though you will.

Just taken delivery of my OM1 MK11 plus 12-40 f2.8 pro 11 lens to start and absolutely loving it. The amount of customisation you can do is pretty amazing and to be honest slightly overwhelming but the more videos I watch and articles I read it is getting easier. Loving your channel and your very calming delivery as you talk to your viewers.👍

To each his own. Enjoy what makes you happy. For landscape photography I think sensor size does matter. MFT are nice cameras but they don’t match the image quality of a FF or MF when you really push it. I shoot predominantly birds etc so I use the R7 with long lenses. The IBIS, AF etc matters and I use EF L lenses I bought used. Great value and great performance. For the handful of landscape opportunities I feel like doing I am considering going the film and scan route… a LF camera with movements with a 6x9 etc back . Then scan and stitch 1:1 with the R7 and a macro lens back home. Cumbersome but awesome I think. Amazing for me to learn in my research on this is that modern sensors now exceed the dynamic range of film. A pity you can’t get a full size MF sensor at a price you don’t have to sell one of your children for.. I am fresh out of those.

@@gerhardbotha7336 thanks for the comment. I agree with you on medium format prices. I would love to own one but I can’t afford them. The most important thing is to get out and take images with whatever you have. The camera isn’t important.

Agree, Canon is not only locking people out of third party lenses but even the batteries too, which is no doubt a turn off to many photogs, particularly amateur and advanced amateur users that comprise a sizeable chunk of their sales base.

I believe the old adage of “a change is as good as a rest” holds true in most hobbies, so if changing brands helps to re-ignite the passion then you should definitely do it!
