Yes CDL is best. Having lost an eye and dot certification your video proves draiver has been flooded. I loved OTR and worked for all the big name dry van. Later I did 1099 at a small outfit. I was sooo happy and then lost the eye. You make great informative videos.
I appreciate it! Should be done with training soon for my company job and out on my own. I will have better content once I am on my own and in my own truck.
I drive right outside Chicago Bedford park all the way to Romeoville. There’s ton of work here, my chase driver says he makes 40k a year as a chaser. I have a cdl and have had no problem finding good paying gigs.
Anyone know what app would be able to help me move 20 new Kenworth sleeper tractors we just bought from SC to CA? The driveaway carrier the dealer referred us to is just too expensive even when decking and moving 4 at a time Any ideas?
The 25 first trips is a set back-I wonder if the shorter suburb to suburb trips that suck for pay and time are worth it if you only want to do this part time? Thanks for the video.
Just had this same exact problem LOL, couldn't accept a job because I don't have those plates, don't have the plates because can't get any jobs ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. I called support about being able to accept first come fist serve jobs and they pretty much told me to log out, log in and restart so maybe I'll be able to get some of those FCFS jobs. Just need something that will hold me over a few weeks while I get my businesses up. Will probably go back to door dash/UE.
Sorry for the delay been on the road doing coast to coast. I work for Classic Carriers Inc. Out of Versailles, Ohio. The pay will depend if you take benefits or not. I have my own business so I use my businesses health insurance. Without benefits starting pay is $0.61 cents per mile after completing training and up $0.01 per mile more every month for 5 months. Then at 6 months it goes up $.02 from current, then up again at one year, and two year. Not sure about owner operators. If you opt for benefits and insurance subtract $0.10 per mile. If you're interested let me know. I should be dropping a video regarding my training experience for the last 5 weeks of being OTR. I'm sure you could run team if you have someone or if someone is interested I don't know the details behind running team or owner operators.
