You're so right! I just stick to what works for me, while staying somewhat open to new things. What I won't do is get sucked into trends and FOMO, even as a shop owner. I have to stay true to myself! 😊

You are so right. I could relate to almost everything you said. I just fell into the Hobonichi rabbit hole. I was on the website in Japan for an hour. I don’t speak Japanese. What was I thinking . The shipping was in Yen. So the A6 was $79.00 . I got confused it said handing was 500 Yen. SIRI said that was like $4.36. I lick Order. I didn’t realize it was 4300 Yen for shipping. That’s almost $77.00 shipping & handling together. 😳😳 I really wanted this little 5 year planner but I must have lost my mind temporarily.

I recently went down the same rabbit hole 🤦🏼‍♀️ definitely need to go back to basics and remember what works best for me

Ahhhhhh finally...I have enough planners and supplies for 10 yrs so much money and it seems like a CHORE I quit 🤨😊

I felt this - I too am losing sight of what is working for me. I have some weeks where I have zero decorations or maybe just a good quote... and I am finding out that those are my most productive weeks! Happy Planner planners are pretty even without stickers!

I was at that point of so many planners and barely used them, too much. but then found Stalogy in B6 size and ended using Stalogy A5 size and create my spreads and way of planning without the complications anymore. quite liberating.

I can't remember what was working for me when I fell down the rabbit hole lol. This is a great video. I will take your advice to step back.

Best vid of 2020. Pretty sure I have spent hundreds and hours____!omg hours! It made me LESS productive. Thanks to this vid tonight I'm using my oil calendar and to do list. I work from hone too. I'm sure tomorrow ill be listing my scrap for sale lol. I had a Franklin planner in the day and loved it!

I just found out that there is a planet community and it is expensive as all get out I don’t really buy any planners as much as I like the happy planner only because they have the rings that can open you can take it out and switch out pages. What I decided to do I just spend money on my first planner which is with budget mom and she has pronounce so you can make your own planner using her printouts using a happy planner clips And sheets from other people because from what I found no plan or comes with what I want because I cannot do multiple books it will never get done I just need one book with everything in it flip through the sections and that’s that but this was helpful even though it was three years ago I wish I would’ve found you earlier this year

Amen!! I love to try a lot of new planners, I stopped planning for a while, and when I feel overwhelmed, I just find a more simplified way... I think the key is using what works for you to stay organized... great advice!!

Thank you for sharing this! I definitely fell down the rabbit hole myself at the beginning of the year with all the stickers and using two planners. It was just too much and so I stopped mid April. I used a to do list here and there but I was so over it. I took a vacation recently and during that time I realized that finding that everything is a process and getting your life in order is forever changing. Doing what works for you goes such a long way. I quit planning entirely. Having to write plans into a book felt like an extra chore. How you felt is exactly how I felt.

I can't follow trends because it's too distracting, but I did buy a disc bound planner I don't even use it anymore. Lol it looks cute on my planner cart, though. 😉 I like my A5 rings: Hobonichi style for lighter weeks and classes and blank columns during my busy times. I hope you can find your way through the noise. BTW, your room looks nice. I'm currently cleaning my sewing room. 😩

Ever since I found the Planner Community on Instagram, I got sucked into the consumerism of it :( I recently bought two planner (cheaper ones, luckily!) that I used for one week and realized I didn't like that system at all. Wasted planners, as I cannot use them in whatever way. I tried using them, i really did. But I'm gonna have to throw them away, I don't want them to clog up my shelf when I know I will never ever use them. At one point I was using four planners at the same time, while not having much to plan for (no school and only 1,5 day of work). It was very overwhelming. I'm now going to one planner and one daily diary in July and hopefully that's what will work for me :) I agree with you so much!

Your video reminded me I was doing too much losing dates because I was planner hopping. So I went back to the planner I created for myself because it encapsulates all that I want to track in a day. I'm with you! It got too be too much and one day I looked up and said "I have not planned in forever". I looked in my planner and realized I hadn't opened it since February! And the Hobonichi Wks......I don't care for. That is one trend I will not be trying. Great vid!

The thing is I noticed I get extremely bored. I've used so many different planners and I always go back to basics. I find I enjoy making my own planner and I'm always trying or buying something different because when I become comfortable with what I have the company decides to change how the planner is set up. Also I find alot of planners have too much in them that I don't use. So often I find a notebook and a small monthly calendar is all I need. Currently I'm using an Erin Condren monthly planner. It's open and allows me to freely plan and create my own set ups. Problem is I no longer want to keep spending the money on the planner because it's a black hole that leads to more spending...lol! Also the shipping and time it takes to put the planner together has gotten worse to me. I'm kinda over it. So I purchased me a Leuchtturm1917 notebook and a nice leather cover. The Erin Condren planner works for me but over time it is not cost effective because like you I was doing too much and spending too much money. Lol! Great advice and video.

I found that I have to lean more towards undated planners because I switch so much, but I switch as much as I do because my needs and schedule are constantly fluctuating. I have busy seasons and then I have lulls. I think I have at least one of each different system/size and undated inserts to go with that. that way I can switch in and out without feeling guilty about wasting a planner. I almost never use stickers, unless they are functional.
