Why I use a 22 year old 7.3 Powerstroke diesel work dump truck EVERY DAY for my business 

I have 3 of them 2 1995 f450s and a 2001 for my tree service all paid for probably have around 12000 in the 2 1995 450s after the dump box installs and all the odds and ends over the years. They are old trucks but basically new one has 87,000 the other has just rolled 100,000. And the 2001 has 190,000. I got great deals on these trucks searched long and hard to find them and drove a long ways for the sweet deals. Now they make me money and have never once thought about a new truck. I'm a 7.3l guy for life.

I plan on using my 03 F350 6.0L for brush and mulch work when I get a dump bed for it.

I started my own Landscape company 2 years ago with $800, GMC suburban & Home Depot trailer... & business blew up GOOD, I bust ass daily but I love the grind! My Fleet today : 2017 F-250 Crew Cab, 4x4, 6.2L Gas. 45k miles. White. Fully tinted. blue accents. stock but upgrades coming. Bad ass daily driver work truck. 2000 Ford F-450 Single Cab 4x4 7.3L. 95k miles, Dark Blue color, Similar dump bed but a 10' , Fully Tinted, All new tires, Blacked out wheels w/ spiked lugs, I sanded & resprayed the grill & other pieces flat black. Red Ford Emblem in the grill. New 4" Stainless Exhaust, S&B Intake. New shocks, Oil Pan, Gas tank, Full rewired, LEDs all around, Mud flaps with chrome hangers only inches off the ground.... Installed back up camera (Huge time saver!). ....Gauge pod, engine upgrades, tuner & a few more upgrades to come... Its a solid old truck & I love it. Truck had some rust unfortunately from previous owner "forgetting" to wash the salt off... "idiot"... I fixed all the oil leaks. New fuel tank plate, All new cross members, Reinforced the frame. Painted the entire under frame with Eastwood Rust Encapsulator for added protection. Purchased truck for $17,500 & probably have $$10,000 into it from everything I listed above. Paid for itself within 1st year owning it.....Truck market today is insane! Ford dealer by me has a Dark Blue 2022 F-450 Crew Cab 4x4 XLT Crew Cab regular bed stick price : $95,000 lol. F450/550 Dump Truck are around $70k-$80k....Buying a old reliable truck that's easy to work on is the way to go, just have to look hard for a solid truck. I take care of all my equipment so I should get a solid 5+ years out of this truck & more!

I used to be a 7.3 guy but I live in the northeast and all those trucks are all rotted out around here. I just sold my last 7.3 and I just run 6.2 gas now. Love them.

The old super duty 7.3 is the only way to go. Parts are available and easy to work on. The 7.3 makes reasonable HP and get decent MPG.

i really like the idea for the back doors. the doors on my dump trailer always pop out. definitely will be doing the little pipe stop.

Nice work man. I just got a 99 f550 7.3. For 500 bucks. 10’ plow. 4x4 automatic. Manual locking hubs. Full pto hydraulics. It’s gonna be my new work truck. I love my old trucks. I just rebuilt my 91 international 4900 dump truck. Love that truck too

I'm not sure if you know Allegiance Landscaping but they use the exact same year and model for my lawn and it still runs amazing.

Nice job. I love 7.3s and have owned a couple. In fact when i sold my last one, i missed it so badly that i ended up getting another within just a few months. Im still daily driving it to this day with 380,000 on the clock. Very reliable, easy to work on, and parts are cheap in the rare occasions it needs a little TLC. Every time i start playing around with the idea in my head of getting a newer powerstroke or duramax, one of my coworkers trucks craps the bed with ridiculous 10-20 thousand dollar repair bills on top of their $1000+ a month payments. I think ill keep the ole girl around for another 380,000😂 Cheers from Brandon Mississippi!

Unbelievable - amazing job - you really built it up right - OEM - all the way. The new trucks are way too much and either for larger construction firms or fleets for big corporations. I think you were referring to a "push bumper". Really smart swap-outs for the dump body. You got a lot of sweat equity in these trucks.

Just sold my last 7.3 i live in the north east nice truck they work hard but i find there's a lot of aggravation with those late model fords easy to work on but always something. Switched the fleet to ram 1 04 5.9 Cummins and a 14 6.7 Cummins deleted both 1 tons i find that my maintenance receipts cut down tremendously and far less issues no regrets.

2002 f550.. 140000 km 7.3L paid 5k and 4.5k for repairs.. haven't sat in the seat yet but will very soon... all in all under 10k Canadian certified.. could sell for new we are looking at 140k if not more

Nice build on that. Unfortunately, not many people can do that with themselves, especially on the diesels I run a 2017 Chevy 3500 with a ten foot dump body, with four foot sides (two feet solid, two feet expanded metal) with a side door for pallet loading. Bought it new at the end on 2018. Paid just under $50k for the truck and the hoist/box, only because the dealer couldn't sell a two year old model cab/chassis with a short cab to axle length. I'm looking for an 07 c5500 now

I want a dump truck but the $83-$95 thousand no I’ll look for a rust free used one or a dump insert in my 2018 Chevy 😀😀

I have an 03 f350 srw 7.3 with a dump insert I put in it. I have around $46,000 into the truck

My pump truck is a 97 and it will run 300 miles a day for months before a break down. Then I’ll fix it that night, and run it 300 the next day. Could I do that with a new truck?
