This was such a well produced and thought out video - even the AG sponsor clip was great! I love seeing more of Ottilie in your videos as well, she's so cool and supportive!

Life guard training we hold bricks in our hand and walk back and forth - we also lay on the bottom of the deep end with bricks. Lot of workouts under water. In the beginning I believe it's getting the body used to carbon dioxide, people don't necessarily need to breathe but they feel a strong urge to. Once the body gets used to the build up in the blood, you can make great progress with breath holds and under water activities.

In particular, you need to look into recovery breaths. At the moment you may pass out the way you are taking your breath after the breath hold.

Nice video as always - A couple of things to remember for the audience. This is one part of freediving however as far as I am aware Jonne has not taken a freediving course and so there are some things that are missing from the video. There are also a few safety thing that could be slightly improved on regarding your safety and recovery breathing. As I saw below, regarding Wim Hof Method - Please DO NOT hyperventilate before a breath hold in water, it is an easy way to die if you do not have a qualified safety person with you who knows how to rescue you should you black out. If you have any other questions about freediving please let me know :)
@samyadventures
@samyadventures Год назад
I wrote the above comment quickly yesterday but realised people will want to know the reason why rather than me just telling you its bad. Wim Hof method involves hyperventilation (HV). HV lowers the Carbon Dioxide (CO2) in your blood stream which makes it feel easier to hold your breath as the CO2 takes longer to build up. However it is the Co2 which triggers our urge to breathe (UTB). This is what actually keeps us safe. The UTB is a sign from our body that we would like to start breathing again to get rid of the built up Co2 in the blood. The trigger of the UTB happens before our oxygen(O2) levels dip below a critical level and we black out (BO). However if we hyperventilate before a breath hold we decrease the Co2 in our blood which means our UTB will be delayed and as such your level of O2 can reach its critical level to achieve a BO before we ever receive the UTB signals .

How much of a difference does it make when you exercising while holding your breath? I.e swimming? Maybe a few other factors like technique play part as well then

Used to swim on competition level as a kid so had to try what is left of those lungs. Not smoking anymore but many years of doing that in between. Got litle over 2 minutes on the sofa so I guess some capacity is still left but remember having over 3 min younger =/

Hello Norwegian ”crazy” man here. I did 3.10 after 1 week of training i never had someone to train in water with. But after around 1.50 I feel like dying and I just keep holding 😅. Last “experiment “ 60h awake standing still with my hand on a car 🚗 the same time i did a 120h fast 😂

Hey Jonne, you can do Wim how's breathing exercise, it's easy to do and you get amazingly long breathe holds. I think I got up to 4 minutes once !
@samyadventures

Hi Jonne ! 😉 First of all I have been a huge fan for many years, I really like your content and I keep following you in your adventures. A few weeks ago you asked if there was anyone who is going on an adventure or doing a challenge, so you can document them. I’m sure you already received a lot of great ideas. But my girlfriend, our 9 months old puppy (Pinky) and I, are planning a bikepacking trip in Morocco, beginning the 16th of October and lasting around one week. Last summer we spent 1 month bikepacking from Greece to France. During this month we managed to raise money to donate 1 bike to @worldbicyclerelief. But this time we would like to have a more personal impact, so our idea was to cycle trough the north of Morocco (the exact route isn’t planned yet). And connect with the people there by giving them a sort of lucky charm : a lavender fish. This to let people know we think about them and to show that sometimes a little gesture of kindness can bring people together. Why a lavender fish ? It is because my family has a little lavender field in the South of France and they use it to create a lot of different products. My favorite one is the lavender fish which reminds me of home. On the back will also be an inspirational quote. By the way ! I’m Dutch and Pinky and my girlfriend are Frenchies. Hope you like this idea, Ophélie, Pinky and Miró :) (Ps: I sent you some photos of Pinky via your email and via our insta : mirophelie)

Extraordinary content as always, keep it up! But please, do some further research on your current sponsor. There is no scientific evidence that this overpriced supplement helps people with a balanced diet. The manufacturer's strategy of flooding all possible marketing channels and recruiting celebrities is remarkable, but that is also the only good thing about this product. Please don't let people believe that their health will improve because of this. Some fresh fruit and vegetables are cheaper and will help more.
