these wear out way faster because I find myself wearing them more than other brands 🤣

I am shocked that a sock that costs so much gets holes in them like you displayed - thanks for the warning!

You are correct, the wool socks get holes after 8-10 months of wear. I love the way they feel to. I suggest sticking with cotton socks they will last longer.

Cotton socks are horrible for outdoors activities. Cotton absorbs sweat like crazy. When Cotton gets wet it robs you of heat. That's why there's a saying that "Cotton kills". These people that get lost in the wilderness and they're dressed head to toe in Cotton and they get hypothermia and die. Wool will still maintain body heat even when wet.

Yes! I bought a few of the Bomba's regular socks that you discuss at the beginning of the video and agree completely with your assessment. Initially they were "ok", better than department store socks but nothing special for the money. But like you was dismayed at how quickly they got holes in them, in that regard no better if not worse, then some of the department store socks I've owned. I won't buy anymore.

I bought my husband a Ton of bombas cuz I thought they would last (he gets holes sooo easy). They have a Happiness guarantee, right? Welp, I soon found out it is good for one year from purchase, AND one replacement per customer. So I am not happy with the happiness guarantee. It’s a crock.

You are supposed replace socks every 12-18 months. Keeping them beyond that is poor hygiene. Now if you’re flat broke, I can totally understand keeping them for longer, but that’s only for extreme cases

If you purchase Bombas and don’t responsibly take advantage of their “Happiness Guarantee” then you are definitely overpaying for good socks. At that price point you should ALWAYS look at the return / customer satisfaction policies. That is if you actually care about what you get for your $.

Ok saw these on shark tank and wanted to check them out....your review has talked me out of them as for that expense they should last a long time....if that only last less than a year i can get walmart socks that do that at 1/4 the cost. Its great they give to homeless but if u sacrifice quality then whats the point. Thanks again for the review.

I thought it was me and that I was doing something wrong. I got my first set of Bombas in January 2022. Around September 2022, I had to have them replace ALL 8 pairs because they all developed holes in the heals. Now it's May 2023 and 90% of the replacements are in the garbage because of holes in the heals. The regular brand, Hanes or Fruit of the loom get holes but it takes well over a year or longer for the holes to develop.

The review of the 85% merino wool ones is SPOT ON! Theses are the best socks i have ever worn... by far. However, I develop holes (especially in the heels) after 10-12 month of regular use. I will say that Bombas has replaced the same 6 pairs from my original purchase.... 3 TIMES! I feel like I am taking advantage of the warranty but they are sooooo expensive. Have you tried the running sock? It is 58% merino wool but wonder if it is a bit more durable. I often think that what makes the merino wool socks so comfortable also makes it less durable.

HOWEVER after 5 short hikes I developed holes in heel area. Started another pair and same thing. Daughter said they were expensive and would return for replacement.

@@mim906 I'm doing one of my clinicals at a day shelter and they offer as freebies- hygiene products (toothbrush, toothpaste, chapstick, deodorant), meals, clothes, shoes, blankets, bags, Bombas socks, in the wellness clinic we have Tylenol, Ibuprofen, Tums, Imodium, bandaids, A&D ointment packets (VERY popular), cough drops, condoms, lube, fentanyl test strips, COVID tests, antifungal cream packets, antibiotic cream packets, wound care supplies, nail clippers (we do foot bath/soaks), resource information. They have more things, but that's what I can think of from memory that would be applicable to a charity, but they have other things too in regards to services like computer access, charging stations, showers, laundry, a case manager, nurses once a week...

Merino has to be very fine before it’s soft, If you want more durable, warm Bluefaced Leicester wool is way more durable- rarely get holes. Also superfine alpaca is hollow so it’s warmer than sheep wool, smooth scaled so not itchy BUT baby alpaca I wouldn’t recommend so much for socks since even though it’s more durable than merino, superfine alpaca will last way way longer, it’s lighter weight, won’t hold moisture.

I kept trying Bomba socks but for me they are a huge waste of money since they wear out on the bottom of the heels too fast. The gripper socks last a little longer but not enough to continue buying them. I have never ever had other brand socks wear as quickly if at all like those. The tee shirts are nice but there is some shrinkage and color fade. Did not like the way the undies fit but that’s just me.

I found Bombas socks painful to wear. They cut off circulation, likely due to the honeycomb design around the arch. After a few hours, my feet hurt. Unfortunately, other brands have adopted the same design with the same effect. My older socks, from other brands, are wearing out, and do not cause the pain. It's frustrating because the brand has good intentions, but I cannot wear them long enough to get holes! I bought some for my friend, who likes the patterns, but he felt they were too tight.

I bought 12 pairs of merino wool socks, 4 in late winter and 8 more the fall of the same year to stock up for the cold. Then I noticed my winter pair was forming holes a little over a year after purchase, and I got one pair replaced. Then the newer ones started getting holes by the following spring, within probably 6 months of buying those. I’ve replaced / gotten store credit for 4 of those 8. I will probably try the quince merino wool socks next. I have issues with cold feet in winter so I super duper need some sort of wool in my sock. Not sure if it’s just wool itself that is less durable or there is some other issue. Unfortunately I recommended these socks to my mom and sister and they each had bought quite a few, but they have reported no holes yet. Maybe it’s just how some of us walk? But I agree, I have never had socks get holes in them like these. For me it’s always on the heel.
