Hoping to get into the RAF soon. Got my assessment this Wednesday. Although I’m not joining the army this is great advice for me as well. Cheers!

Here in America ( I don’t know how it is there) most people who retire or get out of the military (depending on the job ) become government contractors or federal employees doing the same job for the same unit or instructing in a classroom setting . You don’t wear the uniform or held to military regulations like fitness. You can add to your federal retirement from the military doing this. As a junior cadet in high school. Our instructor told us if we decide to join the military if you can’t do the job on civvy street don’t pick that job.

Thank you for your honesty and help Craig. I am going to ITC Catterick in February, and I will turn 30 just a month before that. I have an HND in engineering but I plan on topping it up to a full degree through the Open Uni asap after joining. I have always wanted to be a soldier and I am not getting any younger, but I 100% agree with the idea to prepare as much as possible for leaving as soon as you get in. Ideally I'd love to make a career out of it, but you never know....

This genuinely might be your best video yet. SO MUCH FREE INFO! I’m not even forces background but sounds like looks of great opportunities if you’re smart when you join. I need to get started on a private pension. Call me at some point, would be good to make some notes on it all bro.

I wish someone had told me this when I joined. The earlier you save, the better, the earlier you invest, even better. There is the 50:30:20 principle - 50% of pay to cover bills and living expenses, 30% to savings and investments, 20% for fun stuff. I used ELCAS to fund a Bachelors Degree. Unless it's changed, the process for companies to sign up to ELCAS is not that straightforward.

Yeah I really like that principle. It definitely needs to be taught in training or school

Left the Army young. After a few years I joined an American oil company. Now 25 years service. Never looked back. We have already started saving for my 2 year old grandson.

Can you do a video on wether it's better to do 20 years at 40 years old or 22 .What's your thought on that now in 2022? Thank you.

Worked with you in Pirbright Craig whilst I was posted in the Gym bluffing my ticket. Even though you're a hat ;-), I wish you all the very best of luck, which i'm sure you do not need with a good plan in place.

Saw a podcast and the message was, the day you join the army is the day you start preparing to leave. Nothing wrong with good preparation 😮

I've seen on youtube that a lot of people are under pressure to take the Maxxine or face being declared not fit for deployment. Hoping this changes but we are in some very odd times.

I want some information on some decent pension products on the market. Is it OK to send you a personal message. Where and what's your handle. Thank you

great words from Yoda ;) think it's a double edge sword.. if there is a war you might not make it so enjoy it while you can and planning for the future the numbers show a huge percentage don't make it to retirement.. but if you don't and you do make... than you are fckd! lol ALWAYS have a plan B while living a balanced life of excitement... without the strippers etc. lol I see a book in the future of the life of a British soldier and his journey :D
